How can I help my elder dad?

my dad has been an elder for many many years and he is a good man.

he was always there for me even when i got df'd, and after i was reinstated i eventually drifted away and still now he is there for me.

he accepts the fact that i am in a relationship but not married and have two children.

in around 2 hours time i am going to be meeting my 'real' father, whom i have never met.. .

i tracked him down via the net a couple of months ago and have been writing and phoning each other ever since.

today is d-day, and at this moment i am shaking like a leaf!

Great online games for kids

each box has a different game, and my kids totally love them.

there are a couple of 'shooting games' but most of them feature cute characters and the design is really sweet.

Downloading TV shows??

i was just wondering how to go about downloading a tv show from the internet.

it's only because the show i want to watch is a season behind the u.s. and i can't wait for u.k.tv to catch up.. i have tried kazaa which does have the shows but i can never get a download, its all just remotely queing.

and they don't have much of a choice in downloads either, so i just give up!.

i've just been reading about jlob and his amazing success with losing weight and i thought i would share my experience with you.. although it's not much of an experience yet, as i have have only just begun my weight loss programme.

i was never what you would call slim but after having kids i have pretty much piled on the pounds.

i've managed to live in denial for a couple of years, hiding the scales and blaming the tumble dryer for shrinking clothes when i can't fit into them anymore!!.

my friend, who ill refer to as katie has just found out some shocking info about her past.

katies mum has been an alcoholic for about 15 years.

i feel the need for a rant!

i had a conversation with my jw elder father tonight that has left me seething.

just to set the scene, i left the jws back in 1994. i was baptized, having been dfd and reinstated a couple of years prior to my final exit in 94. i was never dfd again and pretty much left to my own devices.

Assemly food tickets - WHY??

i was laying in bed last night thinking how lucky i am that i havent had to undergo the mental torture of attending the district convention.

then i started reminiscing about the old days and i suddenly remembered those ridiculous tickets you had to buy to pay for food.

they were those brown cheap cardboard type efforts with i think 10 tickets per sheet.
