  How Old are You ?

  i know- you aren't used to seeing me ask a simple question like this.

  so- i'll start .

  i am 49 years old, will be 50 in october .

  All anyone has to do is go on most of our profiles to see how old we are. I am now sixty years old. I take pride in that, since my father died when I was 16 he was 49. My mother is still alive and will be 87 this year in April. I love that I can get senior discount most places and take advantage of that whenever I can! It is an something I do not tell everyone but since I have it posted on here, whatever.

  Is everyone sick of hearing me say I haven't found a job yet in Chattanooga, TN? The newspaper on Sunday last week had ONE page of jobs, none of which I was qualified for "I AM A CLERK!" My nephew (43) went to Burger King to get something to put food on the table and they wouldn't hire him since he had no fast food experience. Do you really think he wanted to work there? He does sound for bands and concerts. He has been really hit hard since the down turn in the economy. He may have to go on tour with a show or a cruise line. They are the worst.

  i think that the very act of questioning the teachings of the watchtower society does not make us apostates!!!

  does not the bible teach us to examine what it teaches?

  We have examined the wt and found it lacking. Therefore, we have moved on to look at or not look at other places for guidance. An apostate in the dictionary means one who has left their religion, faith, or political party. Most of us did that to become a witless, so now we are called it as an identity they like to label us! Welcome to freedom to think on your own.

  i know for many of the 44 years i was in the jw cult from birth - i felt i could.

  or should i say i was conditioned to feel that " i should " trust the elders.

  as jehovah's witnesses we were all told the elders were " crags in a waterless country " who would be a " spiritual stronghold " for us.

  How can you trust someone who thinks they are better than you? They are trying to build their little groups of followers for themselves then beat down the really good guys until they no longer want to be elders and end up here. Welcome all you who once made us squeamish.

  No, not me called into the backroom. My ex an elder had to counsel me about my mouth which has always gotten me into trouble. This time making a joke about a friends meeting attendance while she was taking training classes to work for United Airlines and had missed so many meetings I said "Oh are you and interested person when I saw her come in the door, she got really affended, so he had to get me back in line!" I bet sometimes they really enjoyed the power of it all. He had plenty of time in the backroom early in his jw time for trying to keep the magazine records straight. The elders liked to go into the closet to pass out mags for fs on Sats. They couldn't understand the correct procedures. This was when he was a MS. Oh those days were so weird, wish we had left then. We were still young.

  Love the bitch juice, those malt beverages in bottles, especially the peach tastes real yummy. But if I want a real drink Kentucky bourbon or a Canadian blend like VO over ice, love the really smooth ones.
