So sorry to hear this is happening to you, 007. My divorce is at court today. I don't have to go since he is the one that filed. It is so over when one person says it is. That is my thought on it, but if you talk to her and can get her to go to couple's therapy I would say try it. If there is no going back, you have to work through it. It is not an easy thing to deal with since you are a guy and can't cry as easy as we ladies, but have a go of it. Get it out. If you can go to therapy yourself (most guys say this is for women) it really helps. Even if you just go a few times get some ideas of working out the pain. Keep us updated. We are all here for you.

Enjoy your thirties. They are truly a wonderful time to live. You have so much going for you. You are back in school using your mind, your children are loving you, you don't have to look after a man, and you aren't with the cult anymore! Don't look at the negatives today or tomorrow! There is plenty of time for that another day. Don't think about it on your BD. Hope you have a wonderful day. Eat a piece of cake for me. I still haven't gotten the cake I really wanted & my birthday was the beginning of June, (I wanted a carrot cake.) I will never get used to having birthdays again. The wt spoiled it for me! I hate them for that! Oh yes, my husband told me he wanted a divorce a week before my birthday this year. That kinda took the spirit out of it this year. Sorry to bring that up. Please have the best day possible. Part take of whatever you like & be as happy as you can, that is an order, kiddo! Love you, Bubblie, K.

Funny/strange things you ate as a kid.
by IP_SEC inok i'll start.. 13 y/o or so.. once it rained for a month straight.
we had an old dry tank dump in the back that filled up with water.
there were tons of frogs that showed up and started breeding.. i was looking at them on the edge of the water through my .22 scope.

GentlyFeral, I also ate ketchup sandwiches but I liked mine on toast with a little butter. Now I never eat ketchup since it is so sweet! Only mustard on hot dogs with onions, never that red stuff again.
IP SEC, what weird things have you tried food wise as an adult?

So glad to hear how many of us ate dirt. I would lick it off the rocks. Guess I was trying to make the yard clean.

How was the show? I wasn't able to see it. I was in a hotel in Chattanooga, TN. Do you think it will be on again over the weekend? Sometimes they will play it again. I'll check it out. I am back home again. I love the Who. I was backstage in my youth at one of their concerts & wasn't wearing my glasses so didn't know who Roger was right in front of me! I am so blind. My friend was having a chat with him about his chain around his neck. He had the best hair & jewelery, then. I have always the loved curls. Didn't get to meet Pete, he was so great that night in concert. Saw them again when they still broke everything up at the end of the gig! Those were the days!!

Loss of family, beliefs, life, divorced? Learn to feel, then move on.
by FreedomFrog inwhat i was forgetting to do was learning to feel each emotion and sorting them out so i can then move on to the next phase of the healing process.
i was suppressing them which only caused me to be "trapped" with that one feeling.. recently, i have understood what i was being taught in college.
i have found a sense of peace inside that i have not had for a very long time.

Hey, Freedom Frog I have just gotten to the anger stage of a divorce. I don't like this place & plan to move on as quickly as possible. It is kinda empowering for a woman but it is making my soon to be ex hate me, since that seems to be where I am now. I am trying to move out of the house we both own, he is buying me out. I will be able to get another one for the price of the buy out. Problem of finding a new one out of town. I don't want to live near him at all. His mid-life crisis finding out he wants to be free after so many years together has just made me nuts. Maybe all of us women out there can go through the same thing & turn around to these jerks & say kiss off!!! Anyway, I really do want to move on from here. But it just isn't right someone can tell you they love you & will be there for you but they don't want to be married to you anymore. That's my two cents, I'll not say anything else right now. I appreciate your comments & would love to find out a clue about moving on from here. Thanks.

There are lots of people on JWD that you can meet at the Apostafests. I encourage all to go when you can. Meeting the faces behind the names is so much fun. Bumble Bee nice pic! I don't know how to do a pic yet. I will find out how to do this soon. The friends from the board are way better than the witnesses who only will like you if you attend & shun you when you leave. Such an ugly thing to do!! My new friends here would never do that! I love this board.

It is really scary when you are first out. You feel so exposed. So many of us have gone through this, or are going through it now, so we can just about all identify with your situation. You will find comfort here. Each one of us take different spiritual paths. Look around at the world, then decide. How did you become a witness? The people in the world are not evil. Welcome to the board. I am also a new poster here but have been reading on here since 2005 or so. Comment when you have time. Enjoy the varied responses.

How long does the grieving process last? I am still sad over the lost years & so called friendships that disappeared after leaving. How long have you been OTWO anyway?

Newbies - How are you Benefiting from the Supportive Discussion on JWD ?
by flipper inso - i thought i'd put this question out there for the newbies here.
how are you benefiting from the supportive discussion you are partaking in here on jwd ?
do you see a different sense of freedom of speech which you can partake in - as opposed to being under " information control " as a jehovah's witness and only being allowed to talk about subjects that are previously arranged for you to discuss ?

Hello Mr & Mrs Flipper. I have been a lurker on here for a few years. I am just now posting. I am thinking of relocating to a Southern town in Georgia. Wonder if there many ex dubs nearby? This is the Bible belt area so I am not sure about how I would fit in, since my interest in religion isn't that keen. I love the board. Wish it wasn't so big. Sometimes, I just get worn out trying to look at all the topics so I keep it down to Active topics. Support is good. Thanks for asking.
