  before i learned the tatt i was the mover and shaker of our family.

  Same situation here A-F. Spouse is resolute JW. My children are still very young but the oldest who is 5, might be getting it.

  Hang in there. The more happy you seem not doing the typical Jdub schedule of events the better.

  Make no mistake it is hard though, mentally and physically and everyone has a different experience.

  This conversion of thought will be a total game changer for your life, but there will be some rocky times ahead.

  i've always been told that i have a very good personality, that i'm humorous, etc.. one elder called me over and said that i was "smiling too much".

  the other elders talked to the elder who counseled me and he came back to say that i should be like i was .

  it appears so many offices are being sold, it is not easy to keep up with their liquidity.. has someone already compiled a list of these closures?

  wts appears to suffer a real revenue tailspin, and the "waters are definitely drying up".

  I listened to the whole thing and it was pretty good.

  Often, I wonder about Johnny the Bethelite.

  Perhaps, he is the middle man between the actual JTB.

  JTB reports to this other man and he in turn reports to Rick.

  Just a thought, which would explain some of the inconsistencies when reporting a story.

  Enjoyed the update on the new buildings/old buildings.

  on a previous thread a non-jw made the linked the jw's to cult status excluding the mormons.. can we as a group add jw's to this mormon-cult controversy to get some mileage out it?.

  surely there are some on this board with some media contacts that could do the trick.. make some correlation between the two comparing the relative similarities of the two.. mtm .

  Thank you for all of your comments, and as I read back over my original post I must apologize for the mispelling. Usually, I post on the fly because of the limited amount of time I have.

  Ok, so maybe the correlations would be difficult.

  Yet, I think that the thought concerning "cults" not being Christian could include JW's.

  Any negative attention we can direct toward the WTBTS would help get those whom we love to perhaps reconsider their dogma.

  we received an email from an old friend who is still an elder and doesn't know what we are up to.

  "a change, they are no longer training missionaries and sending them into foreign fields.

  Well, this is great news! I know a couple in our area that you could tell were positioning for it. Too late now.

  On the topic of Gilead Students, when I was at Patterson, I had the opportunity to associate with such specially educated people.

  We worked on the landscape construction crew, so as you can imagine we were doing work that typical Americans won't do and pass off to imigrant labor.

  After about 1/2 a day of this type of work for the soft handed regualr pioneer types, both men and women were assigned to the crew, they went whining to whomever would listen. Of course they were told it was part of their training because they never know what they might encounter in the field where they were to be assigned.

  I remember these two guys. One was from another country and the other from here. They would be told to go get something with a golf cart and not return for several hours. They didn't give a s**t. They would show up late to work, with some lame excuse.

  The rest were basicly sloths, just doing their time until they could get back into the air conditioning.

  I remember this one couple who graduated and due to problems with visa's or something they couldn't go to their assignment. They were stuck with us for a year or more. Talk about depressed.
