does anyone know what the watchtower's stance is on marrying a person who has been divorced on grounds of spousal abandonment?
the person who was divorced is not a jw, and the other person is inactive, but baptised and is currently going to meetings.
if they were to marry would any action be taken against the baptised person.
Yeh it would be classed as adultery.
Unless the abandoned person last partner had committed adultery first or dies. You would probally get Df'd.
Sad, really i know peeps who left there wives and refuse to say if its ok for them to get married leaving them in limbo for the rest of theres lives.
Even if u leave someone because of violence ur not free to remarry... stupid really.

this must have been mentioned before,but now reniaa is back it could be fun.. if jw's are even part way to the truth,and all other religions are false, then they must have a doctrine that is unique to them,given by holy spirit, but plainly taught in the bible,without resorting to fancifull exegesis and bouncing around from verse to verse out of context etc.. what is that doctrine?.

I think its easy to get lost in name calling & making endless comparisons.
The reasons I made the difficult decision was not based on the beliefs or doctrine. Due to my up bringing as Jehovah's Witness, I never found the comparisons made between Jehovahs Witnesses and other monotheistic religion very relevant.
For me it breaks down into these simple reasons:
Now that i have left I have had time to build up my own belief system and see little need for imaginary solutions.
I need things that help me now, not in a thousand years.

When my so called brothers shunned me because i was depressed & not full of zeal. I was attending most meetings and wasnt doing anything immoral.
They basically told me they cannot "let me be a negative influence" (even though i never said anything) basically saying that a real JW is full of zeal & joy! telling me that they didnt want me around them...
Just all came to head there really...

This doesnt shock me at all, there are so many people I have met who havent ever voiced there oppinions. After
years of ministry, ive met thousands that have strognly argued with me about religon suprised it hasnt happened early!!

the older i get, the more i see that most "friends" are not "real friends".
i can count on 1 hand who i consider friends.
i have many enjoyable aquaintances that i socialize with but i doubt they'd really be "there" for you.
I found that all my old JW freinds, where purely conditional freinds. They where only freinds by association.
They constantly just tried to make me feel bad before i even questioned anything.
