Truthseeker, what normally happens is, you get the address of the secretary in the new hall and give it to the secretary of your old hall. Then they send the cards along with "a letter of introduction" basically telling the new hall your status, how you were "used" and if there are any problems. All of course to help them serve you better!

Need advice - I think the elders in my old hall know we're inactive
by truthseeker inin march this year, we decided to move to another hall and eventually fade.
we ended up making one meeting and just dropped out.
we haven't had any problem since and our friends in the old hall do not know we are inactive, they think we still go to meetings.. we moved for various reasons but both of us were unhappy with what was going on in the congregation.

A big one for me was "free will". I was raised hearing...what a loving god, creating us with free will to allow us to make up our own minds....how loving! I always though....we have free will but are forbidden to exercise it. If we chose not to serve, certain destruction. Which in turn made me think, what an egotistical god.

Can the average JW name their Governing Body?
by sacolton ini don't think i met one jw who can name the governing body ... which is strange since they basically surrender their conscience to them.
.
could you (without cheating) name each member of the governing body?.

by sacolton inthis is from a friend i know who posted this on her blog .... dear uber-religious jehovah's witness mother,.

i think the whole thing puts teachers and care providers in a very difficult position. Sounds like the day care worker got a little fed up, although she /he could have worded it much much better. But I remember growing up and being in school. My teachers were constantly put in the position of making excuses for me to the other kids. I had no idea why i couldn't do many of the things the other kids were doing, like the little girl, I was scared of being punished. I had no idea why.

I keep hearing about 2000/2004 elections, ACORN can be partially responsible of the chaos. If not for the fraud, Bush would have won by a hell of a lot more, eliminating the close margins that raised eyebrows. What is wrong with proving who you are while voting? Why is the left always squashing any attempts to tighten up voting guidelines? People have to recognize, we do not have an individual Constitutional right to vote. The Constitution simply states that voters can not be discriminated against.

Ya, I heard this line from a family member this week. I got the whole, "THIS IS IT" speech. His "theory" is right now people truly are "faint out of fear". It's an economic fear! Then when crisis is over, that will be the cry of peace and security!! AND THEN THE END WILL COME!!! Although I heard the same thing as a kid in 75', and then in the 80' with the UN's year of peace and security, then in the 90's, and then on 9/11.
