Hi Thanks for all your welcomes. I was on the board years ago before I got DF'd as a lurker under JapanBoy and Japster. Then About a year ago I had a bit of a meltdown due to personal problems and a big problem with booze. I got help for those things and am proud to say that I've just completed my first year of complete sobriety with the help of my AA group who I am totally grateful to.

Outlaw, I tried to open your pm's but only get "sorry and error has occurred so can you try it again.....love to hear from you bud!

As for the question did I get any special treatment due to my Uncle? No.....I was just another cog in the JW machine......until I escaped it thank God!

Went to AA meeting last night

about twelve months ago i came to the realisation that i am an alcoholic.. for the past year i have been having breaks from the drink of about a week at a time but as i cannot deal with stress well i always seem to turn to alcohol as an escape.. i have realised the last few weeks that i need help to stop drinking but do not want that stigma of attending aa meetings or getting counselling for my addiction.. yesterday i decided to phone the aa and so attended a meeting last night where i found to my surprise many people who were going through the same process as me but had decided not to carry on turning to drink.. i dont know if many in the us understand the culture of drinking and pubs in britain?

but it is an integral part of uk society, friday and saturday nights are all about going out and having a good time drinking as much as we can.

so for an alcoholic it can be a nightmare.. i just wanted to share this with and would like to continue to post in the future about it.. yours paul.

I'm a fellow exjw and I just celebrated my fist year of sobriety in AA. I take my cake tomorrow here in Vancouver, Canada.

You post was an inspiration to me that it can be done long term. It took me many many years to finally admit to myself that booze was controlling my life........but it finally sunk in after I went through a lot of problems.....some that I'm still trying to clear up now.

Actually I went to a feww AA meeting four years ago on the advice of two doctors.........but ......accckkkkkk......they reminded me too much of MEETINGS!!! hahaha

Anyways, my sincere congrats and continuing success to you.

Dreamed my JW Daughter Shunned me in the Grocery Store and..........

then i woke up and realized it's a scenario that's happening anyway in my life as she's shunning me in reality.

this is my older daughter ( 23 ) who i was really close to when she was a teenager.

but since my fade of 7 years - she and her younger sister have virtually totally shunned me .

well i have learned that it was very true.

i do not want to post the story because i do not want to totally give myself away and the story dose not say he was a jw only that he attacked children and had a police standoff.

plus it gives his name and i just do not want to bring more problems on him, it is just really sad.. the brother is schizophrenic.

It never ceases to amaze me the lov bombing of these menatally disturbed ones who 'join' the congs.

And Mr. Flipper's experience.................... really sad how they afterwards just threw this poor guy out into a halfway house in the end and DF'd him....leading to suicide.

james bond composer john barry turned 77 the other day.. in honor of his birthday i decided to compose a tribute to his wonderfully evocative music for the early bond films.. this is an original composition that uses the style and thematic vamps which make the bond films so enjoyable.. a walk down bond street.

I was in the keyboard business most of my life, and we sold it all, from Lowery organs, to Magnus chord organs, to Bosendorfer grands, Yamaha pianos and guitars, Knabe, Yamaha DX7's [ tons and tons of those] literally in the hundreds.....Korg, Prohet 5's, Rolands, D50's Hp pianos etc.....Schimmel, and Kawai pianos......you post brought me back a lot of memories. Which I was a little closer to TEXA's...love to jam with you!

Interested Person kills Bethelite in German Kingdom Hall, later is killed by train

on saturday, 35 jehovah's witnesses gathered in their kingdom hall near frankfurt and sat over coffee and cake (for whatever reason, maybe pioneer school or some other event).

suddenly a 20-year-old man (according to most sources "not a jw yet, but wanted to become one"; though one source claims that he would have been an auxiliary pioneer) took a knife from the cake buffet and killed a 45-year-old bethelite (maybe a circuit overseer).. today the murderer was killed by a train - supposedly suicide.. .

I can spot JW's a mile away....

so earlier today i was having lunch with my sister when 3 ladies walked in to the restaurant.

one in her early 20's..one in her late 30's early 40's and the last one maybe somewhere in her 50's.

when i looked up and glanced at them i said to my sister that i bet those are jw's since they were all dressed in service clothes.

Yeah I can seem to spot them a mile away too. My ex girlfriend , not a j-dub] could spot them too....when we were driving she used to yell out JW ALERT JW ALERT, to the right or left.

One question for WT Wizard. Do you reall think that those J-dubs you see would actually forcibly DRAG you back into the Hall? I've read your posts here for a long time and

1. you seem more than a bit paranoid about being forced into the religion

2. you use the weirdest descriptions of the religion, eg the washtowel slavery and ???? tract society. and your other colloquial expressions. Love to do a brain scan on you one day bud.

My Dad's passing

quite a while ago i wrote about my dad who has been living with prostate cancer for 13 years with secondry bone cancer for the last 2 years.

we all thought he was going to leave us back in april when he had a bad chest infection.

i was talking about wanting to be able to say some words at his funeral.

Sorry about your Dad Happy EX JW.

My Father in law passed away quite suddenly at the end of 2006. I, being DF's and going through a divorce from his daughter, was banned from the hospital when I would have really like to have seen him. I was always close to him. Even though he had been an elder almost all his life....he never took the whole thing too seriously, being a JW that is.

I was also asked not to attend his funeral.....by an over zealous brother-in-law....who I basically told to F**k O**.

This same bro in law came up to me at the funeral and almost shock my hand off with a big stupid looking grin on his face.

Very sad what we all seem to have been through at a very solemn time like that.

My parents who are in their 80's are next i'm afraid and I really dread the procedures that will have to be endured at their funerals.

What saddens me the most is that they had all expected to be young again, living in paradise that the shit eating Governing body has been promising them for years and years.

The cult sucks!
