For some reason, every time I have to do a magazine demonstration during the announcements, I always find it sooooo funny. So every time my friend and I went up there to do it, something would always go wrong, and we'd always end up having to stifle laughter on stage.

Funny JW memories/stories
by superman insince most of my memories of being a jw, are terrible(and i do mean most of them).
i figured i share one funny one.
one time back when they first started the new number 2 talk arrangement (switched to only doing bible readings, and not having to actually write a talk), i got a talk slip but lost it.a few weeks later i didn't realize i had a talk only until i got to the thursday night meeting, and the school overseer came up to ask me, "are you all set for your talk tonight"?

*** 1 Year on JWD - Happy Anniversary to ME ***
by Princess Daisy Boo ini like anniversaries - i think it is fascinating to look back at a certain date and remember.. so in honour of my first year on jwd, i look back.... a year ago today, i was sitting in the little shop i owned, waiting for customers that didn't come.
i was bored and when i am bored i eat, and google.
i had been googling jehovah's witnesses and lurking a bit on this site and on that particular day, with a pounding heart and sweaty palms, i joined the forum and posted my story.

Homosexuals are human also...
by zeroday inpretty much living my entire adult life in jw land i had such a one sided biased against the world including gays...in my own family there were a number of gay members that i thought i was so above them and better than them because the bible said so...i had a cousin die of aids in the early 80's and felt no remorse at all...since my departure 4 years ago i have redirected my priorities in life to include those of not my way of life...i currently have a gay cousin about my age and see the world in a whole new light...i no longer feel superior to anyone and accept those for who they are...this has been a long and hard road back to simplicity i'm just sorry it took so long...

milligal, I agree, we really are on the cusp of a new "revolution" of sorts for homosexuals. Can't wait!

Is It Me Or Are The Males of Today More Feminine and/or Nerdy Than Ever B4?
by minimus inwhen i turn on the tv, i see so many fem men that i'm realizing that a 'manly" man seems to be a relic of the past.. metrosexuals rule the world now.supersensitive males who are in touch with their feminine side are the norm.. the john waynes & burt reynolds have been replaced with ryan seacrest lookalikes.. ladies, do you find these metrosexuals all that attractive?
?.

I think a major thing to consider is that really, people aren't looking for a "man", they're looking for someone that they want to spend time with. And that could be either a very gruff and tough person or a more graceful and elegant acting person. Is one better than the other? No, it just depends on what their preference is. And of course, if you don't like what's on TV, you don't have to watch it.

for "born-ins"
by Mandette indoes anyone remember being a little kid and being forced to sit through those 2 hour meetings?
specifically being made to listen to graphic accounts of whatever country that was going through horrific persecution.
(or any other horrors you might remember).

I was never really scared, but definitely felt guilty all the time. I knew I didn't want to be a Witness, but at the same time I still believed in Jehovah. A pretty big conflict in the mind for a five year old to have ...
