The thing that makes me cry the most is when my wife is cutting fresh onions out of the garden in the kitchen.
Take a few of those freshly prepared onions and then add them and some garlic bulbs cut in quarters into a pot of angel hair spaghetti, throw some garlic-cheese bread in the oven and presto a meal to shed tears of joy and delight over.
add a few brewski's on the table as garnishments at the beginning, then give thanks for the brewski's and proceed to wash down the tear inspiring meal with said brew's.

MY PROJECT IS (FINALLY) FINISHED!
by Mary infor those of you who are interested, the project i've been working on for the last few months is finally finished.
i originally did a thread about it back in april: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/156497/1.ashx.
it seems that alot of us still have family members in the religion and have not infrequent arguments with them about some of the beliefs and practices.

Mary Mary not quite so contrary (heehe I just had to do that once on here sorry)
Could you please send me one. I've really enjoyed your past post and the amount
of time and dedication you put in researching and helping others to find info.
Oh and by the way did you make sure to do like the WTBTS and put copyrighted
on it so no one else can take credit or plagiarize it
I've often thought that if the WTBTS woulda been commissioned to write the
bible we woulda seen a copyright symbol on it at bottom of the papyrus scrolls and leaflets (heck even the stone tablets that Moses had woulda had a little c at bottom) just to give it that legal feel.
Thanks for all your hard work in putting this as well as many of your previous threads out for others to benefit. I will pm you my e-mail.
Regards,

I've got to post on this topic after seeing the reference earlier to the snake and eve in the garden...
Here's some points to ponder: Why did God according to the bible say one thing in scripture then totally turn away from it in other scriptures? Look carefully at the wording in these quotes and think.
Exodus 20:5,6
"You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them,
because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion,
bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third
generation and upon the fourth generation, in the case of those who hate me;
but exercising loving-kindness toward the thousandth generation in the case
of those who love me and keep my commandments."
Exodus 34:7
"preserving loving-kindness for thousands, pardoning error and transgression and sin,
but by no means will he give exemption from punishment,
bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons and
upon grandsons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation.”
Dueteronomy 5:9,10
You must not bow down to them or be led to serve them,
because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion,
bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons and upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation,
in the case of those who hate me; but exercising loving-kindness
toward the thousandth generation in the case of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Jeremiah 32:18,19 the One exercising loving-kindness toward thousands, and repaying the
error of the fathers into the bosom of their sons after them,
the [true] God, the great One, the mighty One,
Jehovah of armies being his name,
great in counsel and abundant in acts, you whose eyes are opened
upon all the ways of the sons of men, in order to give to each one
according to his ways and according to the fruitage of his dealings;
Ezekiel 18:20
"The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.
A son himself will bear nothing because of the error of the father,
and a father himself will bear nothing because of the error of the son.
Upon his own self the very righteousness of the righteous one will
come to be, and upon his own self the very wickedness of a wicked one
will come to be."
If you reason on what is said especially about the showing compassion and
loving kindness (grace) upon the thousandth generation...why are we still
havng to answer for Adamic sin. Apparently there was some faithful and
righteous ones in Abrahams day as well as Joseph and numerous others.
And it plainly states in Exodus that errors of fathers would be
handed down to the sons and to the third and fourth generation, yet Ezekiel says
totally the opposite..that we would each answe for our own errors
So which is it? You can't have it both ways

Make a statement you have found to be TRUE.
by gaiagirl injw's like to refer to their body of beliefs as "the truth", even when those beliefs are adjusted or even reversed, giving rise to the question 'if this is "the truth", then what were the beliefs which were promoted as "the truth" until the change'?.
state something you have actually found to be "true", in the sense that, in your experience, it agrees with what is observed in the real world.. .
i'll start: knowledge is power

And most women will gladly point it out to them. -

Let's predict the next 10 years of "noolite"
by Awakened at Gilead inthe past 15 years or so have seen incredible "advances" in the new light agenda of the wts.. there have been changes in the generation (twice!
), sheep and goats, celestial phenomena, opening up the way to heaven (closed since 1935), the "composite sign", "blood fractions", along with major organizational changes, such as paperbacks, once monthly awake!
's, cult edition of the wt, along with the reduction of the meeting nights and change to the po nomenclature becoming the coboe (ssdd).... some of these changes have been foreseen by posters here on jwd, or were suggested by information in apostates recomended reading lists (i.e.

Why hasn't there ever been or ever be a mass exodus from the WTS?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe wts have a history of false prophecies, including teachings that armageddon and the end of the world would occur in 1914, 1918, 1925, and 1975. .
most of us didn't see that the true point of authority was not the bible, but the watchtower magazine, awake magazine, ministry school and the ever-changing views of the governing body.
the word of god in the bible does not change and a prophecy that does not come true is not of god's doing.

Basically its the same reason there hasn't been a mass exodus from all the other religions, cults, and sects that have been either laced with pedophiles or that their leader is not the messiah or that their end of days calculations proved faulty (and no I'm not referring to just JW's here...there's been others as well)
It goes back to the social club as well as most people seem too busy to take the time to research into their beliefs, so they just accept what they've been taught. Many don't want to upset the status quo, so they just go along with whatever figuring that someone else musta surely researched it or have hard evidence backing it up.
Then there's always the ones that say well if it was good enough for my dad and mom then its good enough for me.
I feel that everyone must believe in something.
Right now I believe I'll have another beer.

When Debating With Witnesses- Is Arguing Doctrine Beneficial ? Steve Hassan
by flipper inmy wife and i have been reading " releasing the bonds " by steve hassan and it makes some interesting points about assisting people to get out of any cult.
notice this excerpt from chapter 6 from the book.
hassan states, " it is also important to understand that in most bible -based cults, although the member is aggressively taught doctrine, it is not the doctrine that holds him in the group.

I would have to say that I was one who benefited from the thought provoking questions more than just comparing people who seemed happy on the outside.
If someone is leading a somewhat happy life on the outside of the Org, its very easy for a witness to dismiss it with the following scriptures...
Psalm 37:16 "Better is the little of the righteous one Than the abundance of the many wicked ones"
Job 21:7-9 "Why is it that the wicked themselves keep living, Have grown old, also have become superior in wealth?
8 Their offspring are firmly established with them in their sight, And their descendants before their eyes.
9 Their houses are peace itself, free from dread, And the rod of God is not upon them."
Acts 17:2,3 "So according to Paul’s custom he went inside to them, and for three sabbaths he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving by references that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and [saying]: “This is the Christ, this Jesus whom I am publishing to YOU.” -

Ya I want to see this one to...I highly doubt it will come anywhere near me in a theatre. Its funny how all the theatres around here went out of their way to all show the Mel Gibson film the passion of the Christ.
But I guess its not about equality on showing the films anymore but rather not to do anything that might upset the religous element around here with all their money that might quit supportig the theatre if it showed this film...(like that would happen and they would all stay home).
If you get to see it JD let know us what you thought of it.
