Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian
by thetrueone intop ten signs you're a fundamentalist christian.
1 - you vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.. .
2 - you feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the biblical claim that we were created from dirt.. .

I can't spell sew sue me :p
by highdose innever have been able to, its just something i can't do.
some people can't whistle, sing or make lump free gravy... i can't spell.
i am dislexic and long ago gave up worrying about not being able to spell and instead concentrated on getting the idea accross instead.. i managed to get through collage and uni without being able to spell and now am a sucessfull business woman who misspells her emails to clients ( mind you they mispell their replys).

Doesn't this go beyond a spelling mistake and into using a totally different word with a different meaning?
I can't spell sew sue me :p
Shouldn't that be "I can't spell so sue me :p" ?
A simple misspelling of "so" such as "os" by being dyslexic is not hard to comprehend, but substituting the word "sew"
for "so" is not even in the same ball park.
I'm just teasing with you highdose.
Keep those post rolling!

A good place to start is always with Ephesians 4:4-6
I'll quote it from their own NWT: "One body there is, and one spirit, even as YOU were called in the one hope to which
YOU were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all [persons], who is over all and through all
and in all."
Ask them if according to this scripture there is one hope, why at memorial time they speak of a heavenly hope and a
earthly hope? Is that considered one hope or two?
Next point, if they are going to use this line of reasoning that I've quoted you on;
If the number 144,000 were not literal it would lack meaning as a contrast to the “great crowd.”
Then it should hold true that it would lack meaning for Rev. chapter 7 to list the 144,000 coming from the 12 tribes of Israel and then
contrasting that with the great crowd coming from all the earth.
Either the 144,000 is symbolic and the tribes represented are symbolic, or the 144,000 is literal and the tribes they come from are literal.
You can't pick and choose part of it as being literal and then say the other part is symbolic.

Why are all religions (including J.W.'s) afraid to perform the "Elijah test" recorded at 1 Kings 18:21-39?
by StoneWall into set the stage this was were elijah had the people gathered together at mt.carmel, along with the.
450 prophets of baal and the 400 prophets of the sacred pole.

Didn't Jesus say that "a wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign!
But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah."?
Wow isn't that convenient.
On the other side of that pendulum didn't doubting Thomas in John chapter 20 ask for proof that it was Jesus that
had returned from the dead?
John 20:25 [NWT] "Consequently the other disciples would say to him: “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them:
“Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his
side, I will certainly not believe." (end of quote)
And then Jesus went on to show and give him the proof that it was really him. So then why should it be any different
with others that want proof instead of just hearsay?

yes I was initially talking about religion in general as regards this test, but heck it can even be adjusted to the
individual believer if they so desire. If they can perform it without being a part of religion then thats even better.
To further illustrate my point, you know how in the bible it talked about the magic practicing priests of Moses day
turning their staff(Rods) into snakes after Aaron had done the same thing?
Even if we buy into the argument that God isn't interferring in the affairs of man at this time, then why can't the priest
of today do the same thing as the ones of old, since evidently it wasn't God who caused their rods to turn into snakes.
Why is it every time that we hear that either God,Satan or a angel or demon did something back in the bible days,
it can't be duplicated today? Talking about how many times would it have to be done to convince people, why waste
all that time back then when only one time would work now for the whole world since we could all document it with
our cameras, video recorders, and beam it worldwide with our satellites for the benefit of all.

a potentially interesting JW experiment
by poor places inso it would be pretty interesting if someone got df'd at an early age--20 or 30 or so--and kept attending meetings for the rest of his or her life without getting reinstated.
imagine jws in the presence of a df'd person for sixty years, without acknowledging the person's existence.
they'd watch the person grow older and more feeble, and all the while they'd believe that the person is going to die because of the d'fing.

I would have to say that would be an interesting experiment but who in their right mind would ever suffer through that?
Poor places how old are you? You might be a good candidate for this experiment if you're young enough since you came
up with it.
And keep us updated on how things are going as the years go by.

How many times does God have to do the same thing before someone will believe ?
How many times does someone have to pray or attend meetings/church to prove their faith/belief in God?
Once?
Twice?
a hundred times?
If people are expected to continually show their respect/belief/faith in God by their works(prayer, attendance, good deeds)
and we are supposedly made in God's image is it too much to ask for him to do something more than once?

Watching the news or a documentary with a southern gal
Why in the hell would you be watching the news or a documentary with a southern gal?
You make news with a southern gal and other people document what you're doing trying to learn from the best.

I think this Hank Williams jr. video pretty much sums it up about what it is about southern women.
Listen to the words and don't let the eye candy distract you from the WORDS.
