We all know how Adam and Eve are supposedly responsible for selling all of mankind into sin and thus becoming "slaves to sin".
So what they did (if it's not a fairy tale) affected all of the humans that would come after them.
Then at Exodus 34:7 it goes on to show the sins of the father being passed down to the third and fourth generations
7 "keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation." (ASV)
Even though I no longer look to the bible or regard it as I once did, I'm just trying to figure where some in today's world can even get the idea others are responsible for things that were done before they were born. Only religion can make people feel guilty for things they never did/done or were a part of and then make others feel as if they're entitled to something.

I may have finally figured out why some today think we are responsible for what others did centuries ago....it's in the bible

Food Boxes given out by Society
by JustChillin inanyone else get a food box delivered by local congregation to your door - allegedly by the society?
weird.
i looked online and found a couple of youtube channels saying the society is taking food from food banks and giving it only to their congregations.

Kim and Mikey had this on their youtube channel for any that missed it.
It is a "secret" recording of the instructions that the Elders from one hall were giving to some of the members and told to keep it quiet. Even went so far as to ask them on Zoom if anyone else was near by that would be able to hear what they were fixing to say.
Interesting recording.

I liked that movie.
For the most part they did a good job of portraying what a "J.W. kid" misses out on such as birthday parties celebrating any/all holidays and basically showing what a isolated life so many that grow up as witnesses have/had to deal with.
There were definitely parts in it that anyone that was raised J.W. would relate to. -

How do you think this covid-19/corona virus pandemic will affect the way J.W.'s view shunning?
by StoneWall inwe all know that the watchtower (jehovah's witnesses) say the reason for disfellowshipping is to protect the congregation from some uncleanness or threat.so they "quarantine" (shun) those they perceive can spread information that does not agree fully with their teachings/doctrines.it's almost like they want to liken it to a real disease by calling opposers "mentally diseased", "threat" etc.
will the current state of affairs in the world regarding this pandemic strengthen their cause/argument in favor of isolating within their ranks?
i can visualize them in the near future even having parts at the hall or assemblies pointing back to this pandemic and saying something along the lines of "brothers what do you think would happen if we would not have quarantined and stayed away from any that were infected?

If just one person was released back into the populace it could potentially infect others all over again."
What are your thoughts? Do you think they will try and use this to draw crazy comparisons or take the high road and not even make the attempt? -

I've been busy working on our Off grid property that we purchased a couple years ago.
It's nice with this quarantine to be able to go out to it and be away from other people for the time being until this covid-19/corona virus thing ends.
Even though our main residence is tied to the power and water grid I'm so much happier when we get out to the off grid property(7+ acres) that has no power lines on it or water meters etc. So much peace, serenity and tranquility out there.Getting back to nature and seeing all the wildlife out there has been such a refreshing and invigorating experience.
The fresh water springs coming out of the mountain side has felt so regenerating to my aging body. Even on the hottest of days that spring water stays cold.Wish we'd got that property back when i was younger so we would have had more years on it.
Guess better late than never I suppose.
Hope all of you are staying safe during this pandemic and may you all have good health. -

How to jw's handle Luke 6:32?
by carla inall or nothing said this in a previous thread, "we were told the "identifying mark of true christians is this love among the brothers".

We all know the scriptures JW's are trained to go to and try show the shunning is a type of love. Here are two of their favorites.I know it's a stretch for them but when you're in and brain-washed it will suffice for the sheeple.
Proverbs 3:12 "because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in."
Hebrews 12:6 "because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” -

Would You Ever Go Back To The Witnesses??
by minimus inevery once in a while you hear people say they actually “miss” their old witness friends and or family.
some would have even stayed in the organization if they became a bit more liberal and open minded.

I would go back on one condition....that WTWizard had to go also and say some stuff at the Hall like he does on here.
Things such as:
Libel instead of Bible
Field circus/field serve us instead of field service
Wash Towel bible and crack society instead of Watchtower bible and tract society
The hounder hounders instead of Elders
Circus overseer instead of Service overseer
Jokehover instead of Jehovah
And many, many more that I've laughed out loud at over the years when reading over his comments.
Just the look on the audience when he says some of these would be worth my gas money on driving to the hall.
But as for going back to stay,no thank you I've built my time in their fantasy land and now and forever more will be free. -

Currently the JW story is featured as the top story at Oxygen.com
For any not familiar with the Oxygen network, Oprah Winfrey has a big stake in it and its founding.
Here is a partial quote from wiki:
"The privately held company Oxygen Media was founded in 1998 by former Nickelodeon executive Geraldine Laybourne, talk-show host Oprah Winfrey, and producers Marcy Carsey, Tom Werner and Caryn Mandabach (of Carsey-Werner fame). ... The channel later began to focus chiefly on reality shows, reruns, and movies."
