>There was never an issue of wrong sex positions etc ,most die hard lifer sisters were as frigid as the south pole .To keep the husbands at bay they would all get the "SISTERS" disease - Candida and excuse themselves from their scriptual obligations!
And yet I've scoured the materials and there's NO specific, pointed advice on the need to step up to the plate and better please your mate. It's all about the Do-Nots.
I'm a woman who was in a sexless marriage. I looked for articles to help him appreciate that I needed sex on a regular basis. NOTHING.
I also asked a former elder if a low-libido issue was ever brought to him for advice, and he said no, never.

SEX
by billie jean ini don't mean to sound crude but ive always wondered what witnesses are allowed to do in their marriage (sex wise) only i always imagined that they wouldn't ever deviate from the 'missionary possition' and what about oral sex, is that allowed ?.
i spoke to an 'on the fence' old friend of mine a while ago he'd recently married and he said that a sister in their congregation had told his wife that anything other than 'missionary' was totaly out, he was angry at this statement and told me he thought it was "a matter of conscience" .
but i'm still curious !

what about if you are getting a divorce in this economy? Especially a woman, to think about starting over when things are so bad, maybe having to sell the house (will it sell?) and maybe move (can I get credit anymore to afford a new place?) and get a new or better-paying job (are there jobs to be gotten?), to rely on one credit rating rather than two.
It's scary and almost makes a person want to stay in a miserable negative marriage, just to survive.... -

Ps. I read the WT materials against oral. It pretty much proclaims that 1) oral is disgusting, and 2) your wife would hate it and you'd be forcing it on her.
But I never read any actual source material PROVING the disgust factor. It was just assumed. -

Homosexuals kiss. Should witnesses not kiss?
Homosexuals also eat, walk, poop, wear clothes, drive, and sleep in beds. Taboo activities for JWs now?
Oh, and of course NEVER work out with weights, tan, dance or wear nice clothes. -

Would you legalize Polygamy?
by sammielee24 init appears that so far almost 300 of the cases from the texas raid have been investigated and dropped.
one girl - the one who has wed to jessop, was placed in foster care.. removing the isolationist tendancies of the mormon group and that specific religion - if the state wanted to legalize polygamy, would you agree or disagree?
the issue of gay marriages has come up and been voted on - but if people could legally wed as adults and have more than one wife, complete with the responsibilities that legal marriages come with - what would the objection be?

I appreciate so many different men for so many different reasons, and don't want to reject one for another. I want both. I want the guy who makes me laugh with his puns, as well as the cute young dancer with the Irish accent, and the smart professor, and the old guy who really cares about me and would do anything for me, and .....
.... and I really do think I could share them with other women, as long as the other women weren't jealous either. -

Thanks! I saw her sing the semi-finals, and while the girl is amazingly talented for her age, I'm glad Potts actually won the contest. Connie has a long future ahead of her. The natural support and vibrato in her voice is astounding, her pitch is near perfect, and when she learns how to control her singing she's going to storm the world.
I wonder if we can get the CD stateside? -

Does anyone know what happened with Connie at the next round? I know I saw this snippet maybe a year ago so the contest is obviously over.

Make a statement you have found to be TRUE.
by gaiagirl injw's like to refer to their body of beliefs as "the truth", even when those beliefs are adjusted or even reversed, giving rise to the question 'if this is "the truth", then what were the beliefs which were promoted as "the truth" until the change'?.
state something you have actually found to be "true", in the sense that, in your experience, it agrees with what is observed in the real world.. .
i'll start: knowledge is power

>The qualities/traits/actions we most despise in others, are the ones we refuse to recognize in ourselves. Once we realize other people are our mirror images, and we acknowledge said qualities/traits/actions in ourselves, we can change.
Yes but that's so HARD! -

Any "Born Again" Christians here?
by sacolton inwould like to see how many have accepted jesus christ as the only way, truth and life..

I'll repost here as this seems to be the more active thread:
You can't exactly call me "born again", but about a year before I attended my last meeting, I was sitting in my house doing a bunch of bible reading out of various translations. NOT WT publications, straight bible reading. And I remember it occurred to me at one point that I needed to thank Jesus for saving me, because I was so not deserving of salvation. So I prayed a very non-traditional, non JW type prayer, very personal, that to me felt sorta like a born-again moment, and ever since then it really feels like that moment in my life was a turning point. From that point forward I felt more blessed than I had ever felt before in my life. I felt an assurance of salvation inside me that I'd never felt before. And I felt God's presence in a very positive way. It seems my fear of displeasing God was washed away, and truly, I've held on to that feeling ever since.
I have since read literature on Born-agains, and I didn't say the words they say you're supposed to say, but I feel like for all intents and purposes, I stumbled across the "action" behind the words.
And since then I started feeling a growing obsession with finding and taking communion somewhere. It felt growingly urgent and necessary, due to my previous beliefs surrounding partaking (which I could NEVER do at a KH, and be SEEN and TALKED ABOUT and leave my LIPSTICK on the glass and be COUNTED for it!). I have no idea if feeling a conviction of a heavenly future is a born-again thing as well. But it's all part of my own spiritual journey.
I guess I'm so used to something being labeled, "yes, that IS" or "NO, that isn't" ... can anyone tell me if this is sorta along the lines of born again? And how would I know if I was born again?
