Must be why I got a knock on the door today about a "worldwide campaign". I handed back the "tract" she was trying to stuff under my door. She asked, "You don't want it, it's a worldwide campaign.". I said no, we don't.
She had the deer in the headlight look. I think she recognized me. Silly, misguided, brainwashed fool.(her not me.....HA!)

SW Michigan. Went to circuit assemblies in Holt. I do NOT miss those days. I've been "gone" for almost 20 yrs.
i would be interested to know if the announcement came of an immenent nuclear war would you start praying or get drunk etc etc..
"God" has already failed the world. So if a nuclear war started, I'd look at my options for survival. Try or just have a "blast" till it all goes out in a blast of white heat.
No sense in praying. There's no "one" to hear.
Although if I chose to maybe it'd be to Bastet. She's a very interesting Egyptian god.

this is quite embarrassing for me to share, but as a 30+ year old single female i have lingering doubts as to whether i can still meet a decent man and get married.. you all know how difficult it is for sisters to find an appropriate partner in the congregation.. and now, all the more so that i've learned ttatt.
i still am bound by low self-esteem, and i do have trust issues, especially with men.
i am very lonely and so i just keep myself busy with work to avoid depression (although it is also a great source of stress).. any other single females out there having similar thoughts?.

Hang in there! I didn't get married until I was 45. It took me that long to find the right one. I wouldn't settle for anything less. And it was well worth the wait.
And the others are right. Enjoy yourself. It will happen when you least expect it. I know that's a cliche' but that's exactly what happened to me!

They had a gay pride festival that weekend in the "D" too. Hopefully all the delegates went down(snort) after the sessions and had some fun!

anyone else get the distinct impression that jws are being worked up into a frenzy with all the changes and activity nowadays?
by the end of august, there will have been four campaigns inside of a year.
one last november, a memorial campaign, a convention campaign and an advertise jw.org campaign.. then there's the conventions with all the hooplah around that with all the video, and the aggrandizement of synchronized gb talks.

talking with a long time elder last night, was very revealing.
he has been a jw for over 60 years, a man that was incarcerated in cuba in his early 20s and faced great loss and suffering over his beliefs and for being born in a communist country.
this brave man is now brittle and low-spirited.. while nightfalls on his life, he is made aware the end is near.
I'm happy that I stopped being a "sleeping sheep" in my mid 20's. Recently I heard from an 80 something that, "Oh things are going to be fixed but it's going to take a while longer.". REALLY?????? After all this BS of never graduating, retiring etc. Now it all changes again and people are terribly disappointed.
Not this girl. Not ever again.
