Got one in the mail. Thought it was very wierd and creepy. I don't really need any "reminders" about radical Islam. It's in the newspapers every day.

I agree. Just don't talk to them. They will eventually lose interest and stop trying. This worked for me many years ago and they usually lose interest FAST. My sister is currently in the process of fading. They keep calling her and leaving messages on her answering machine. The funny thing is....my sister is DEAF and they KNOW she's deaf, yet the idiots keep calling. The only way they can reach her is by text message or email. I don't think she'll have to worry about that!

Mothers of any age what is your opinion....?

Definitely you should go straight to your physicians office. When my water broke, it was the first sign that I was in labor (no pain or contractions). My sister insisted I go to the hospital even tho I was sure they'd send me right back home. To my surprise they kept me. The Doc said once your water breaks there is great risk for infection. This is nothing to take lightly.

The WTS lawyers ended the Book Study Arrangement
by lawrence into hell with the god-given book study arrangement, screw the spiritual table of food, and end the "brotherly fellowship".
the wts lawyers dictated, "end the home book studies, minimize our liability.
" and so the arrangement ended with an imprimatur by the wts lawyers, a boe letter, and a km article.

I was told by my mother that it is because of the econonomy and the brothers having to work more to make ends meet. So much for Jehovah providing. The economy is bad but it has been bad before...worse even in the depression. Also, it hasn't been bad for that long, so why now. There has to be more to this story than what they are willing to tell.

When You Were In, Did You Regard Apostates As Losers?
by minimus inwe were trained to not even look at them at conventions.

The first time I remember seeing "Apostates" was at a DC in South Bend, Indiana. The were driving by the parking lot as the assembly let out shouting with megaphones and anti JW signs on their vehicles. My mom told me to not even look at them. I was terrified! I thought they were demon spawn or something, and pretty sure they were going to open fire on us any second. I feel sorry for my young self now. How sad to be shaped by fear. And my mother wonders why I never had LOVE for Jehovah! Probably because I was too busy being terrified by the teachings.

October Awake
by stillajwexelder inthe october awake is "your child and the internet"
they note that restricting the internet by having the pc in the front room not the child's bedroom is no longer practical as the internet can be accessed from cell phones etc.

Taking away cell phones would be just one more thing for the young people to rebel against. I didn't raise my son as a j dub and made sure he got to do everything I didn't. Of course there were rules but he didn't have much to rebel against and has turned out to be a fine young man. When are the dubs going to get a clue? Saying no to everything is not the way to make the young want to stay in. It is the main reason I left when I was 18.

I'm sure writing that obit was VERY theraputic. I have a career dealing with very difficult people and there are PLENTY of very very bad people out there who do nothing but spread misery around especially to the people who are closest. Be very glad if you've never known anyone like this. I hope this family finds some peace now. I don't agree with not writing anything at all. Maybe he did write the nicest things he could think of.

I just had to share this funny and also pathetically sad story with everyone. Today my mom took me to a Doc appt and while we were in the waiting room the story about the California eathquake came on. It got my mom talking about the earthquake several months back in Illinois. It was felt in Michigan and apparently woke her out of a sound sleep. She had fallen asleep with the TV on and when she woke some TV evangelist was on. She was still feeling the vibrations and immediately thought there were demons at work so she quickly clicked off the TV. I laughed out loud at this. Feeling earthquakes in Michigan is indeed rare but how sad her first thought was of demons. This makes me remember another story from my childhood. My 83yr old step-grandmother had decided to become a JW and was studying with my mother. During one of their studies my grandmother's eyes rolled back into her head and she slumped back in her chair. My mothers first thought? DEMONS! Now if you were in the company of an 83 yr old and that happened would demons be your first thought? I don't think so!! I was probably only around 10 at the time and remember thinking how rediculous this was. By the way.....grandma was fine.
