The candy that makes us all combine to bring the watchtower down!

the amount the times i browse the board and read some great posts destroying ideology that was once almost indestructable in jw world.

surely with all those great thoughts we can construct something to really bring down down what is ineffect a man made idea.

this will not happen overnight, but think long term 20 or 30 years.

i would like to say a big thankyou to all that have commented here.

a really big thankyou.. as having being brought up as a jw, and believing all that sprouted from bethel as fact, there is no doubt this discussion board has speeded up my awakening as well as many other sources and experiances.

i have tended to take a lot from this site, and not give much feedback or my experiances as an jw, which i would like to change.

UK Kingdom halls situated in terrible areas

as some one who who has travelled britian well, i must make known an observation.

almost all kingdom halls are in really bad areas.

fron travelling around scotland i see in edinburgh, glasgow, kilbrinie, bellshill , hamilton, kirkcaldy, glenrothes, methil, dundee, aberdeen, inverness, the halls are in a terrible place where unemployment is rife, drug taking common place and just downright poverty and crime is seen.

Jesus was sexually abused

after attending a recent lecture on the priesthood of christ by alan torrance some interesting information was given regarding the abuse suffered by christ at the hands of the roman soliders.

in short, during that time period the soliders would sexually abuse their prisoners.

" the bible describes jesus as being stripped and mocked which is in fact code being sexually abused by the roman soliders.

Death of JW ideology - Soon?

being a scotsman i find myself pround of the history of scotland.

however, there are many events that took place in scotland that are simply shameful.

consider the time period of 1500 - 1650 where in scotland over a 1,000 woman were burned at the stake accused of being a witch.

Going to Church

i went to church in my local town while the witnesses attended the perth assembly.

it was a good sermon and i actually felt very upbuilt and refreshed after listening to it.

i really thought i would of felt guilt or some negative feeling for doing this, but quite the opposite.

just been reading nicholas guyatt book on why 50 million americans believe the apocalypse will take place in their lifetime.. a lot of the book is about tim lahaye's books on the end of the world - the left behind series.

interesting paragragh states the following .

"unlike other prophecy preachers of more recent vintage, tim has been publishing end times books for thirty five years.

matthew 10.8 speaks about the preaching work and states " you received free, give free".

the society no longer charges for the magazines, but should witnesses still accept contributions from householders?

does this not conflict with the bible?

talk on sunday was all about the time of the end before gt.

speaker said many in the world are ignoring the sign that jesus gave.

but we are ready and can tell with all thats going on in the world thats its almost over.
