New here...
by hereiam! insorry if this starts off as a kind of a downer.. i am 29, and my husband and i have stopped going to meetings since last october.
we live in mexico and used to attend the english.
long story short, after realizing how many much we've been lied to we stopped going to our meetings, moved out of the territory, switched to spanish, and after a month of attending just vanished.

Your story is not too dissimilar from mine. My husband and I faded together also, although he found it a lot easier to 'let go' than I did. We actually moved out of the territory, about 20 miles away and have not been contacted by any from our old congregation to even find out where we are and how we're doing. Thankfully!!
I have immediate family still in the org - my eldest sister and her husband being missionaries - so I have experienced a lot of negativity from these ones. Even now over 2 years on- but that's another subject.
I was also about 6 months pregnant when we started our fade and when we moved town. I have since made several really good friends through my post-natal group. You will find that by joining baby groups, playgroups etc you will meet some lovely mums and hopefully set up long-term friendships, as you already have something in common.
Feelings of negativity and anger will come and go. I still feel anger over the org and the lies they tell - my hopes of living forever, seeing dead loved ones again in the ressurection etc have all been dashed and now I am left without answers. However having my daughter who is now 2, I am determined to allow her to lead a normal life - I take pleasure in celebrating her birthdays and christmas, and my husband and i will try to ensure that she grows up to be a well balanced individual by not being brainwashed by a evil cult.
I would urge you to put your health and your pregnancy first at this stage. It's really important that you don't allow external influences affect you and cause negative feelings. Have you thought about maybe seeking some counselling at this stage?

I just had my first child
by daniel-p inbaby girl, 6 lbs, 14 oz, 19-3/4in, looks like me they say.... still in awe... there were some complications, but mom and baby are doing good.
baby's down the hall in nicu and it still doesn't feel real.. .

i am so glad i wasn't raised in the "truth".
my very zealous wife who was raised in the "truth" found a worldly boyfriend and swore nothing ever happened.

Hello..this is my story..
by Lozhasleft ini'm pleased to have found this site...i've browsed a little ...read quite a lot and gasped at some stories, giggled at the one liners and nodded in recognition of others' strong opinions and can relate to a great deal.. i'll try and keep my intro as brief as possible for anyone kind enough to listen.. i got involved with the witnesses in the late 70's in the uk.
i was in my early 20s and had had a love and fascination for the bible since my difficult childhood.
i soon brought my life into 'line' although it took a long time for me to pack up the smoking which didnt go down well in those days when 6 months of study should have been enough and if you hadnt cracked it then it was suggested that you were some kind of loser.... i reared my 4 children in the 'truth' as well as i could but i cant claim that we were a 'strong' family in their terms...just muddled along really..my husband at the time was a very difficult and abusive man and home life wasnt easy for any of us with his anger, jealousy and violence.

it was sooooo painful.. got there a bit late - it was a couple of minutes into the talk.

Welcome. I was born and raised in the 'truth' but faded 2 years ago along with my husband.
It's been a long, hard, uphill journey but I do not regret my decision to leave an organisation full of lies and hypocrisy.

Massive earthquake. Haiti doesn't get a break.
by BurnTheShips inport-au-prince (reuters) - a major earthquake hit the impoverished country of haiti on tuesday, collapsing buildings in the capital port-au-prince and burying residents under rubble, a reuters reporter in the city said.. he said he saw dozens of dead and injured people in the rubble, which blocked streets in the city.. the epicenter of the quake was located inland, only 10 miles from the capital port-au-prince and was very shallow at a depth of only 6.2 miles.. it prompted a tsunami watch for parts the caribbean, the pacific tsunami warning center said on tuesday.. "everything started shaking, people were screaming, houses started collapsing ... it's total chaos," reuters reporter joseph guyler delva said.
"i saw people under the rubble, and people killed," he added.. a local employee for the u.s. charity food for the poor reported seeing a five-storey building collapse in port-au-prince, a spokeswoman for the group, kathy skipper, told reuters.. another food for the poor employee said there were more houses destroyed than standing in delmas road, a major thoroughfare in the city.. panic-stricken residents filled the streets desperately trying to dig people from rubble or seeking missing relatives as dark fell shortly after the quake.. "people were screaming 'jesus, jesus' and running in all directions," delva said.. a major earthquake, of magnitude 7 or higher, is capable of causing widespread and heavy damage.
there was no immediate report of damage or casualties.. the tsunami center said the watch was in effect for haiti, the neighboring dominican republic, with which it shares the island of hispaniola, cuba and the bahamas.. "a destructive widespread tsunami threat does not exist based on historical earthquake and tsunami data," the center said.
