For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
by stuckinamovement inaction - what is amazing to me is how many people who become witnesses do so because they genuinely love and respect god.
after baptism they express a great amount of zeal.
they look back at their former religious beliefs with disgust and anger.

Oh look, they have become as wise as us, knowing good from evil, and now the whole scam is exposed.

oh dear. Poor Oompa. I wonder if his estranged family will go see about him. I wonder if WT will stranglehold and guilt his family into not going to see about him.

DMCA Complaint from The WatchTower for links to KS-10 'Shepherding' book
by Simon inyes, that's right, they really do not like people being able to read that book so they wanted links to it removed (it appears they have also been going after the hosts of the content itself as well).. unfortunately, i had to removed the links (which were dead anyway when i checked) and i'd ask that people don't re-post them (sorry).
i'm sure there are lots of alternative ways for those with the information to get it to those who need it.. here are the discussions on the book:.

So what's the legal "fair use" content that can be quoted...three paragraphs?
Perhaps posters can each post "their" three paragraphs and open for discussion.
Would that be permissible?

Elders Wives/kids
by exwhyzee inhow many elders wives or kids have looked at the congregation files without their husband/father knowing about it?
anyone here have any knowledge of this.
how foolish anyone is to go to these people if they keep a written record/file on you.

It seems like a person who may have done something "wrong" and gone to the elders about it, could have this haunt/embarrass him/her forever after.
Do that give you a "word of honor" or guarantee of confidentality when you talk to them? Or is 'confidentiality' something that JWs just blindly and incorrectly "assume"?

Notice the subliminals. The TyT makes you think of TNT.
I have come to the conclusion that the problem is NOT TPTB. The problems are directly related to the citizens themselves. It is the masses who have voted for "more regulation" and then they complain about it when it happens. There is no one to blame but the people themselves. Most issues have been put before the people and it is "the people" who have spoken. It is "the people" who are directly responsible for their own discontent.

I was wrongfully Disfellow shipped out...help
by pes0210 inin 04 i was brought before a comitee of 3 elders and admited to sex before marriage, given my situation at the time i fell short, i showed repentance for it and they said they were going to recomend i leave for awhile to find myself spiritually...(wow the only time they got one right) i did find myself spiritually through other means.
now i have a question since i no longer want to be a part of this organization and i was cast out from it, shouldnt my records with my personal information be destroyed?
if its in a file that i do not want to exist?

from what I have read on here from others, for every thing that is written a copy also goes to Brooklyn.
Can I ask them to remove this file from their records,
Just my opinion, but once you pledge yourself under their jurisdiction, you are their slave and subject. They can pretty much write whatever they want about you. And especially since you consented to their authority at the time.

I'd say I've been "in" against my personal will for at least five years now.
Many things have been compelled upon us all. A lot of people never recognize it's forced behavior. Some finally realize that it is, but don't rock the boat. And some, finding even deeper lies and motivation in the deceit cannot bear it any longer. It takes courage to stand up against it. I was never a JW but I was born into a system that attempted to make me a member of a society in which I always innately knew I did not belong. There are always consequences either way. Accepting the lies may appear easier, but what it can do to your conscience becomes the heaviest yoke of all.
I've spent most of my life alone; you know, surrounded by superficial friends. I'm very cautious as a result.
I think a lot of people here can identify with that. I have certainly had my share of the superficial. But, I am not really so cautious. I am open to new possibilities of sharing friendship. But I can usually tell right away within a short time if someone is insincere. The "reptilian" qualities become very apparent...those who trick you or deceive you in small things; or attempt to get something over on you because they know something you don't (as in a product or service); those who take and never give back or reciprocate; those who show no appreciation of others; always complain; no matter what you do they always want more from you; selfish; no feeling for others; only interested in things that relate to themselves; etc. I am open to friendships...but I am very observant from the outset to determine whether it is worth pursuing. Most of the time...not.
So far in my life it's the people I've trusted most who have betrayed me or hurt me or left me.
Yeah, I know how that feels. Especially when it comes from one you never thought it would be.

I just bought two Quorums the other day to stock my humidor, I have not tried them yet, in the next few weeks I will. What did you think of it?
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
