I see you bought our old homestead. It's not so bad. You'll get used to it.

The new house...
by Aussie Oz inwell, time for an update.... new house is in the country, just over an hour out of the city.
we came up and camped in the new house on settlement night...much to the shock of the real estate agent who thought we were joking!
i mean, it does need some work, and the plumbing is dodgy but works, the bathroom has all the pipes exposed and the toilet is akin to sitting in an old shed.... any way, we stay and a friend loaded up the truck saturday night and delivered our furniture sunday morning, it was not a rest saturday though as the place resembled a rubbish tip.

How long before you will need to convince him that he has to be a JW so you two can continue dating?
What if he decides not to conform?
When the elders tell you you have to break it off or get DF'd what will you do?

Solomon was wise, because he was a clever businessman. He made commerce of all his wives. He married a lot of foreign women and had foreign concubines because it made for good political connections with other nations. Eventually Solomon built religius temples for all the various gods of his many wives. This insured a good commerce as many people would journey far to come to Solomon's elaborate temples for their gods. This brought in a lot of trade for local commerce. Everybody in Solomon Town made lotsa money from the venture and from all the foreign travel coming in. $$$ hotels, restaurants, idol makers, gift shops, hookers.... Just like the tent revivals of faith healers today.
A little history on solomon's seal

Booby, since WT has always built up Solomon as favored by god and being "the wisest man" why the sudden change of pointing out Solomon's disobedience? I don't recall that any religion has really brought the diobediences up for discussion. Do you think it's odd?

The Bible reveals that 144,000 people again, should say we will be "bought from the earth" and will serve as "priests" and "kings over the earth."
Funky choice of words, using "bought". Why? Because the 144K are the very ones who have not been "bought" by this system which makes commerce of everyone. The 144K are those who have not bowed down to the dictates of governments whether political or ecclesiastical.

lion paw:
your response was silly.
why didnt u just leave without having to 'write a letter' and make a point of making it official? then u get a call and get all the more defensive.
Without an official letter of disassociation...they still have your power of attorney and you are still bowing to them even though you are "hiding out". It takes more backbone and courage to make it publicially known and to stand up to them. To severe the ties a letter is required. It would be good to require acknowledgment of the asservation as well.

Libra, the scales. What is the symbolism of the scales?
from The Divine Verdict: A Study of Divine Judgement in the Ancient Religions
Scales of thin gold plate or of bronze have been discovered in tombs. Although the Mavrospilio cemetary near Knossos provided some of the evidence, the sites concerned were mostly in Greece.
The Third Shaft Grave at Mycenae produced the gold example, which was also more elaborate in other ways.
Unlike the larger vases and swords found in these tombs, the scales are smaller in size than any which might figurein actual use. Many give the impression of being tiny models. In this simple sense they are all symbolic scales, although a practical connection is not thereby eliminated, as in the theory of J. Svoronos that the Mycenae gold balances are models of the instruments used to weigh gold as a form of currency.
So there you have it! The time of Judgement and the weighing of the gold.

Dan will be a snake beside the road, a poisonous viper along the path that bites the horse's hooves so its rider is thrown off.
Genesis 49:17
The snake walked on two feet before it was cursed to crawl on it's belly .
How can we know the identity of the tribe of Dan?
However, the prince of the tribe of Dan replaced the serpent with an eagle.
"To Dan was given the symbol of Scorpio, which, in the ancient Egyptian zodiac was a snake. However, when the time came to hoist the symbol of the snake, Ahiezer refused and chose instead the symbol of an eagle. According to Unger's Bible Dictionary:
'Dan's position in the journey was on the north of the Tabernacle, with Asher and Naphtali. The standard of the tribe was of white and red, and the crest upon it, an eagle, the great foe to serpents, which had been chosen by the leader instead of a serpent, because Jacob had compared Dan to a serpent. Ahiezer substituted the eagle, the destroyer of serpents, as he shrank from carrying an adder upon his flag. It may prove worthwhile to consider the possible connection to the tribe of Dan whenever an eagle is used as the symbol of subsequent leaders or nations.' " (127:117)

Car accidents make the Congo BLOODGUILTY
by hamsterbait infurther to sebastious first very good video on bloodguilt -.
can anybody post the kingdumb misery saying that the entire congregation is bloodguilty if a brother accidentally kills somebody on the road?.
it seems ridiculous to claim that jehoobie will have it in for all the dubby babies and their parents because of an accident on the road, but there it is.. they say the elduhs should investigate - don't you think the police are better qualified to do this rather than window washers and cracker and cheese men?.

I made this comment on another thread and I think it is appropriate here as well. Perhaps this will shed some understanding on this.
What bloodguilty really means is that even though you personally did not cut the persons throat, or hang someone, or pay a bunch of guys to shoot down innocent people so you could pirate the oil, opium fields, uranium mines, etc....if you contributed any support to these events----then you are bloodguilty just as if you had participated in a persons slaughter.
How could you contribute support, you ask? Usually through some act of loyalty or allegience to the party who commands the blood drawing.
----------------------------
If you support a bloody war by any means---financially, vocally, participating in the system that promotes or profits from it, this makes you "bloodguilty."
Bloodguilty is a way of indicating that you are indirectly guilty by association or contribution though you did not do the actual killing yourself. It indicates you still have a moral responsibility in it.
If you serve someone drinks until they are way too intoxicated and then you send them home....you are bloodguilty for endangerment of that person and any he may encounter.
