So much for caring enough about her everlasting life! I thought it was bad when the WT conductor would always greet me as "Sister" - Not even including my last name. I was way too patient, because it was obvious that he did not remember my first name and didn't care enough to make sure he learned it. But then, I was just in need of some "encouragment" at the time, not in a judicial committee! Really, if the holy spirit was really with these men, I'd think the very least they could do was remember being on her committee.

Elder doesn't remember being on judicial committee with my wife
by JimmyPage inmy wife was talking to an elder at the meeting recently.
he asked her if she was still on restrictions (for our pre-marital hanky panky).
he went on to imply that they would probably be lifted soon.

texting bad!!!!
by highdose inam i the only one who remembers the gb telling the r&f not to text eachother?
this was when mobile phones first became popular, the thinking was that it would be a distraction from spiritual things.
i can remember talks from the platform about it, but no one else i talk to can... was i the only one paying attention?.

Sounds like it might have been during a convention. As in do not text about what you are going to have for lunch while I am speaking!

Possible GB Visit, Barr None at my KH Dedication?
by sd-7 ini skipped my triple threat meeting last night, but my mom told me that someone from the writing department would be speaking at the dedication of our new (that is, year-old) kingdom hall.
she mentioned someone named barr--i can't verify this, but i know john barr is on the gb.
so is it possible that big brother himself will be at my kingdom hall??

Oh, please go and take an audio recording to post here. I've only been to one KH Dedication. The Bethel visitor went on and on about how if this congregation didn't forgive each other they wouldn't be acceptable to Jehovah. Since I wasn't fron the congregation that attended the hall, I figured he must know something about them that I didn't. Over the years I wondered how much of his talk was from the outline or just his own thoughts. So please, record and post.

Well, beks, lets make a deal. Let's start asking everyone who says inappropriate things to them just what their intention was and start a post. It really does amaze me how people I know give unsolicited advice of "facts," but for a random stranger to say such a thing to you is beyond ridiculous!
Anyway, maybe she should do a little more research before saying such things:

Dairy Foods' Calcium Protective against Breast Cancer
When French researchers analyzed the dietary intakes of 3,627 women using five 24-hour records completed over the course of 18 months, those with the highest average dairy intake had a 45% lower risk of developing breast cancer than women with the lowest average intake. When only pre-menopausal women were considered, benefits were even greater; those with the highest average dairy intake had a 65% reduction in breast cancer risk.
Analysis indicates the calcium provided by dairy foods is the reason why. Increasing calcium intake was associated with a 50% reduction in breast cancer risk for the whole population, and a 74% reduction for pre-menopausal women. Ann Nutr Metab. 2007;51(2):139-45. Epub 2007 May 29.
Practical Tip: In addition to foods made from goat's or sheep's milk, you can also increase your calcium intake by making sesame seeds; spinach; blackstrap molasses; and collard, turnip or mustard greens, regular additions to your healthy way of eating.

Aunt Bee, I can give you my take. There is not much hanging out between most JW high school students and non-JWs. Outside school activities are very limited, with most JWs I knew not being allowed to do anything outside of school with non-JWs. After graduation, most people go to college. If a JW doesn't go, then most kids don't want to hang out with such a "loser." And there is just not much they have in common (or the JW wouldn't be allowed to do it). Most kids have boyfriends/girlfriends in and after high school. Most JWs don't, or if they do, it's because they are planning on marrying, not just dating. Also a lot of college kids get involved in experimentation of some sort, whether it be drinking, drugs, sexuality, or whatever. Since a JW is not allowed to do so, there isn't much reason for the two to hang out. But maybe the biggest thing is that while in HS, a JW kid could be still included by others because they figure it's because of the JW's parents that they are a JW. After HS, most kids can move on and make their own decisions. Not so with JWs. Once kids assume that a JW is a JW by choice, and they learn a little about the religion - they really don't want to be preached to or be friends with someone who would let their kid die by refusing blood and will never celebrate holidays with them.
But to directly answer your question about being "allowed" association with people after high school. The simple answer would be no - they do not love Jehovah, and so would not "good association."

Yeah, at one of my last meetings a brother giving a #3 or 4 talk used the opportunity to go on and on about the "wordly" people he had to deal with at work. I think the subject might have had to do with brotherly love or how great the "brotherhood" is and to illustrate it he went on about how awful it is to work all day with "worldly people" but how refreshing it is to be at meetings with our brothers. He seemed really pissed at his co-workers. All I could think while he was speaking was how I wondered how many "worldly" people might be in the audience and how would they take his words if I as a JW of many years was getting offended. But then again, maybe I was one of the few that actually came out of the "world" and never liked being labeled as such.

Well with a name like Bland what do you expect...
"Approved homes"? Man, I'd love to know what exactly that means. In some congregations it was like pulling teeth to get people to even consider hosting the C.O.s. Beggers can't be choosers.
