  Hi im New around here

  firstly let me explain my standing.

  over the years i have been priviledged and i have had many life experiances.. i have read the qu'ran and prayed in a mosque.. i have read the bible and prayed in a church i have also served in a church in a choir.. i have been to catholic, methodist and church of england churches trying to find the truth.. i believe in christ i believe in god.. .

  this year i have had a particular hard time with my life and recieved an invite to the memorial service.. i had every intention of going along (let me state i am not a jw).

  Hello Ian. You sound like a guy after my own heart, or perhaps I am after yours. It would be great if you stuck around here, as there are many "truth seekers" such as yourself that post here on this board. Most people who join into the JW

  way of life are very different than the way you present yourself. YOU WILL be accepted with open arms, big smiles, and big love. For someone who has never "felt" this bombardment before, it is often different than anything else they felt in times

  s gone by, and really, who doesn't want to be loved? With a world full of broken hearts and sad people, it's hard to see though the "love",and not see it for what it really is. Superficiality. There are only two kinds to the JW mentality. Those who fall

  in line with doctrinal thinking, and those who don't. When you stand up and confront the "love", by asking questions in which your heart seeks , you'll be left wondering what it was exactly that you felt in the first place. Please don't let me be one

  to dissuede you, it seems apparent to me this is something you have to do for yourself. PLEASE come bck here and share it along the way.

  this is a note i got from an old 'friend' when i contacted her on facebook.

  she was one of my closest jw 'friends' who shunned me, yet would greet me if she saw me in town or at an event.

  i thought she had some independent thought: i was wrong.

  Hello Cake. I can relate to your post, as i have and continue to be torn towards friends who hold on to a similar mentality. You took the time out to contact her, and that shows your feelings towards her...does it make you sad to not have thing reciprocated the way you may have hoped?

  Thanks for that quote of scripture Nathan, and subsequent explanation. Also for making sense of my "senseless" question. That was well thought out indeed. I have never been able to think of time as a "creation". How about yourself? Could you take a stab at explaining? You seem to have a way with words.

  You bet TS, I have HEARD that scripture many times used in such a way. REreading it just now, shows me how out of context it has been used. arrrgh.

  I remember seeing a LDS commercial on TV a while back. While I don't remember the commercial in itself, I remember the closing line of the commercial. "Isn't it about time?" . Most likely i guess they may have been encouraging former members to get off their arses or sumtin.

  everyday we do things that we are unconcious of. They say the average person farts like 10 or 12 times a day. Say as they will, I only count a couple...perhaps I should start taking note.

  Hitler started Volkswagon. Many people who drive VW's are ignorant to this. My point is, I understand that many things around us have a 'deeper meaning' than we are aware of. Is it not possible for people to be similar thousands of years ago? "That's a cool lookin shield, I think me is gonna take that to battle". Not possible?

  Jehovah's Witnesses, Are they proffessional scammers?

  considering all the tactics they use and the amount of isufficient literature they use to convert others to their religion could they possibly be some of the most proffessional scammers known?.

  But, Quirky, with all due respect, you seem to have your mind made up already, and wish only to retort the one who doesn't fall into your way of thinking. Does that make you a scammer? I'm sincerely not trying to pick a fight with you, I'm just making the observation. I believe for one to be a scammer, as JD pointed out as well, one has to be intentionally seeking to decieve. If I believe, at my very core, that Tropicana Orange Juice is the best orange juice out there, despite not having "experienced" another brand....am I scamming you by my recommendation? The average everyday ignorant Witness, I do not think for a second they are scamming anyone. The GB though, I'm not as sure.

  As a matter of fact, I blew six light bulbs within 3 days a couple of weeks ago. Coincidence...or "something else"?

  Perhaps it was "something else". I'll go with a power surge. However, if you had them in your hands at time, they lit up and THEN blew; it was definitely you. :p Were you peddling a bike at the time by chance?

  Do you recall you first spiritual experience?

  I still question how it was possible to actually experience a tangible manifestation of this unseen energy force.

  Perhaps it was a Nephilimic trade off? You get a little bit, and so did they.

  "possibly related to Reptilian DNA." - Would you care to put in context for me? Its kinda like the scripture you have quoted. Reading it stand alone, brings across a point open to interpretation. The context of the actual scripture, alters that. No offense, I have grown weary of drawing my own conclusions.

  BTS - I thought it was evil spirits from dubdom taking over me to keep me from leaving. At what point did you dismiss this as an option? With regards the fear thing, I think your right. What in the world did your wife think while all this was going on?

  Quietly - " spiritual orgasm". Do you think these come in multiples? :p Couldn't resist. But seriously, are you equating Kundalini with a "spiritual orgasm" of sorts? Or any spiritual experience for that matter? Help me along here. ty

  edit: Along with this conversation, has anyone ever given any thought, or perhaps drawn a conclusion on what the "highs and lows" in life are all about?

  Perhaps ones "infinite bliss" is anothers "sheer terror"? Perhaps like skydiving out of an airplane?
