The fact that Reniaa is advising you to write the letter should be conclusive proof that you should not write it.

Ex jw wife
by sspo ini find it interesting that i posted about 16 days ago concerning whether i should write a letter and.
allow my ex wife to be free and marry.. saturday night she called out of the blue ( maybe there is a god upthere looking down) after 3 years of not talking to her and she wants to meets.. we met last night and after small talk about how we are both doing and family stuff, she asked me if i would write a letter.
freeing her or releasing her from our marriage without admitting adultery, since i don't believe in the bible anymore,.

Is the Downfall of Jehovah's Witnesses More Important Then You?
by AllTimeJeff in(on proofreading this, i feel that this is more preachy then i meant it.
so as a disclaimer, i hope you know that if you get that impression, that i didn't mean it that way.
having said that, this is what i feel, so if you relate to this in any way, enjoy.

Outlaw:
"Egregious"..Notably Bad..Flaggrant..................................After a few beer..Also Flatuent................................LOL!!...OUTLAW
Sorry about that. In Spanish (my original language) 'Egregio" means notable, outstanding. I just transliterated. BTW If you look up "Egregious" in some dictionaries it will give you a secondary meaning:
archaic : distinguished
Anyhoo, I meant you people are outstanding and remarkable.

Missing School Functions
by WTWizard ini know that the witlesses are not supposed to go to many school activities.
these include after-school sports and competitions, scouting, and other extra-curricular activities and class trips that may last beyond school hours.
the most cited excuses (flimsy they may be) are bad associations, the money, time, and the possibility of compromise.. now, i wonder how many people have missed field trips that happened during normal school hours because of being witlesses.

JW like black/white good/bad rules. Not too much into thinking and deciding. So you're right about nothing being written explicitly on the subject, it's easier to 'decide' the anything that is not formal classes is not appropriate.
Many frown upon my wife and I, because we let our kids go in field trips, we attent every PTA, parents night or event the school holds. Our ccrodinator even got mad at me because I asked him to cinduct TMS for me, because I had a 'parents night' at my son's school. He won't confornt me because I'm a feared and respected elder, but he told me "You know attendance is not mandatory for those things?", to which I replied "Neither is mandatory for TMS".
But what can I say, my kids come first!

Posts like this is the reason I'm here. People like ATJ and many others make it worth.
I've come to the conclusion -at least in MY case- that being out or in is irrelevant. I'm in, I believe in many things, I strongly disagree with many others, but over all, I don't believe WTB&TS is in any way God's official channel of communication. In that way, JW are already 'fallen' to me; just like they teach Babylon 'fell' in 1919 by losing its power over people, well WTB&TS "fell" long ago as it has lost it's power over me.
I have said it before: I have much more in common with ATJ, AKJ, OTWO, Outlaw and many other egregious "apostate" posters, than with the couple of lunatics that defend the WT around here and techinically I should call "sisters"; (And yes, I'm in love with Rebel8, LouBelle and the "Sally Sparrow" girl).
This site has filled a void, a void that attending meetings and hanging around with my good and beloved JW's friends won't fill. I think is an intellectual and humanistic void. Sometimes I feel like I'm cheating (probably I am), and that I'm selfish for getting away with the best of both worlds.
Going to other church? I don't think so. To me the problem is with religion in general. Not an agnostic, much less an atheist, but the biggest beef I have with WTS I have with almost every religion: THEY NEVER SAY "I DON'T KNOW". They need to have an answer, and explanation and a position for everything, from oral sex to hickeys, form polygamy to vaccines, from dinosaurs to global warming... it never ends. -

Committee Meeting Wants Details, oh BS
by Leprechaun ini remember when i like a real stupid ass went to a committee meeting for enjoying committing so called immorality, when in my view i was making love and i enjoyed every dam minute of it.
well any way those stupid elders whom i knew personally for many years wanted to know every juicy (no pun intended) tid bit of what went on between me and this good friend of mine, a long time sister in good standing, i told them what the hell, you guys dont know what sex is!
you stupid asss!

reniaa
why were you reproved?
She watched the "Thriller" Video

Now, seriously. As many have pointed, it depends on the elders. I've been in dozens of JC and I've seen everything. In a couple of occasions I've had interrupted fellow elders asking inappropriate questions. Once we even asked the person to leave us alone for a few minutes, and then got into a heated argument because the other two were embarrassing the poor woman. I shut them up opening my bible and reading when Nathan talked to David about his adultery... No details, no questions about "what step lead to the following..." and all that bull crap that miserable elders like to repeat and justify their morbid obsession with sex. Needless to say that elder hates my guts to this day.
Once (not long ago) an elder asked a girl that confessed getting oral sex form her boyfriend "How did you feel" and she answered "I think almost had an orgasm". They didn't like her answer. I guess she was supposed to say she was suffering because she knew she was offending god. Jeez! -

Gran is ill, but still won't let me visit.
by LouBelle ini totally disagree with the shunning practise and even as a jw i did not think it was a godly practise and refrained from it.. my jw gran has been admitted into frail care because her legs and feet are going numb.
i wanted to go visit her to offer help, be it financial, emotional, or even physical, but was told not to go as she still doesn't want anything to do with me.....your loss gran.. .

Sorry about this, Lou.
Jesus condemned Pharisees for letting the minutiae of law get in the way of Love and Mercy.
This is a terrible example, and is why more and more JWs realize there's something terribly wrong.
All the best,WC

An Open Letter to Jehovah's Witnesses
by AK - Jeff indear jw's -.

i loved jehovah, and his organization.

Jeff,
As an active witness I have to say you have made your point in an impeccable manner. Technically you are an apostate, still I feel closer to you than to those within the JWs led by intolerance and moral superiority feelings.(Discalimer: If anyone thinks that this comments refers to the annoying thread hi-jacker ... well, you are right)
Faith - by definition- cannot be decosntructed. Faith is the path we take when reason can't help us. But there really no reasons behind faith, other than wanting to believe. But that's pretty philosophical so let's leave it at that.
While I don't ibelieve"change from within", let me assure you that many, many current JW's, not few in authority positions, know that there's something terribly wrong; you have pointed to many of those 'wrongs'. I particulary share your views on 'Hope'. I'm focused on my family and their well-being. I care for people. I am an elder and I refuse to see people as 'brothers' or 'worldly' or 'inactive' or 'weak' or 'pioneer'. They are my fellow humans, and I'll do my best to comfort and help them.
People lke you prove to me that bitterness is not necessary. And in the human sense of the word, I'm proud to consider you a brother.

I met Wallen several years ago when he visited as Zone overseer the branch where I served. I'm almost positive he was one of the 'netinees' that 'helped' the Governing Body's Teaching Comitee.

ATJeff Answers Letters from JW Readers
by AllTimeJeff ini didn't want to hijack billy x's attempt at hijacking another thread directed to our apostate terrorist, reinna.
this is a parady that only ex jw's could possibly appreciate.
whether you appreciate my macabre sense of humor is entirely another matter.

Dear almighty GB,
I enjoyed you article against birthdays. That's why I became a JW, to save a bunch of money by having this excellent excuse not to give presents. It almost makes up for all the money I have to throw at you guys.
But I wonder if one of the big reasons for not celebrating b'days is not to give undue praise and relevance to mere humans... Is it apropriate to have all this posts devoted to Reniaa?
Thanks for your wonderful work. No ne beats you at making people's life miserable.
Sincerely,
Stingy Elder

"necessary refinements" coming soon from WTS:
1.- Birthdays are not that bad. Pagan origin? So are wedding rings. Glorify individuals? What about wedding/baby showers, anniversaries. Sorry kids, for all the missed parties and presents. But just trust the organization and you'll be fine.
2.- Stop reporting your time. Nos scriptural basis. Sorry we botched that one too.
3.- You aren't gonna die in armaggedon for seeing an 'R' rated movie. What were we thinking?
4.- Nix pioneers. preaching 2 hrs. a day IS NOT 'full time'. It won't fast-track you to paradise either. Apologies to all those who wasted their time (and got skin cancer).
5.- Ok, we admit it! We know squat about when Jerusalem was destroyed, when the 'gentile times' started, when they ended, and if they ended at all. we know nothing. Sincere apologies to those who sold everything, didn't follow a career, didn't have kids, and basically ruined their life. Sorry, but that's how light is established!
6.- Our sincere excuse to those who died, but we ahve concluded that if you can have ice cream, milk and malt, well, we guess you can have a Milkshake! So, if you can take FRACTIONS, why can't you accept blood? Sorry, again, but hey! There's resurrection (or is there?)
