this is one of 2 bible passages that have always bothered me.. its from judges 19: (the entire chapter, so i will paraphrase.).

a levite marries himself a concubine.

she's unfaithful and goes back home.

11 If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, 12 you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity. (Deuteronomy 25:11,12 NIV)

Isn't the Bible wonderful. Oh, and before telling me that Jesus came to replace these abominations, let me remind you that if Jesus is God and he preexisted before his birth, that he as God inspired this law.

Anyone heard of Watchtower policy change concerning pedophiles

the claim of any substantive change in the policy on pedophiles is news to me.

can anybody verify or falsify this claim?.

does anybody remember which scripture it is in the greek scriptures (i want to say it was of paul's writings) that the jw's used as a reason that women had no privileges that a man could have in the congregation?

i remember doing research on it for a return visit.

basically the jist of it is that because of eve's sin, all women are inferior.

although the paragraph purported to be about guarding against pornography, it struck me that they are attempting to kill two birds with one stone here, without mentioning one of the birds by name.

Adam alone for YEARS before Eve's creation

i went to my son's witness wedding on saturday and i was interested in the comment by the presiding oversear that adam was alone for years before god finally brought eve to him.

apparantly he had plenty to keep him busy naming the animals, cultivating the ground and generally getting used to his environment.

i just thought it was funny how after the 1975 failed prophesies they now have to say that adam was alone for years, whereas at the time they said he would have been alone a few months at the most.

I remember Freddie giving a talk in 1974 saying that the gap would be months or years not decades otherwise Adam would have been tempted into bestiality. I wish I had saved the tape recording I had made of that talk.
