  Hmmm, I recall the Great Teacher book being much more graphic. They really have toned it down! My old orange/ginger colored book had eyes being plucked out by crows and buildings being flown into by airplanes. Oh, and let's not forget the little child falling into the earth which had opened up to swallow her.

  Now, pfft. It's a kid getting harassed on the street and what looks like a bad fire in a urban area. Kind of like a John Cameron movie set. (see pages 245-247)

  As for the good stuff, post-Armageddon, it hasn't changed. All wild animals suddenly tame. The lions, polar bears, cheetahs etc., all just lying about being petted by, yes, all the little kids. Who are walking around picking berries for dinner. Yum. I'm sure those former omivores will really enjoy eating grass. (page 252)

  Oh, and that polar bear playing with the cheetah? The wolf yawning on the river bank pretty much says it all.

  well, let me tell you about my experience in dating a married woman about a year ago or so, i was dating a married woman, she did not tell me that she was married, but i found about it and i told her that i know that she is married, then she decided not to see me.

  she is really hot.

  well recently, i learned that my recent date is actually married, but she is also really hot, should i keep my mouth shut not telling her that i know that she is married, so i can keep the relationship with her, i would not mind because i really like her..

  I like it clean. Very clean. But, since I am the one doing it (today, again), I have gotten lax. I don't wipe the trim down every week like I used to and I don't Swiffer every few days. I do have a very clean kitchen sink. We never have dishes waiting to be washed or in the sink. Ever. I hand wash them or put them immediately in the dish washer. I clean the toilets at least every other day.

  My husband wouldn't notice if mold were growing on the mattress.

  I guess I could be a slob. But if I were, I couldn't sleep. I'd obsess about what I needed to do.

  i don't normally give a rat's arse what happens on dancing with the stars, don't see it every week even, but i did watch the finale.

  having seen the last couple of episodes, i thought for sure mya would win...should win.. but donny osmond??.

  maybe the end is near....

  I guess I'm in the minority here......I'm glad Donny Osmond won.

  And they called it Puppy Looovvvve!

  I don't mind he won. When he sang that song, I laughed. I was a little kid and recall when it made the radio hits.

  I was surprised to say the least! I thought for sure Mya would win. I almost went to bed, I was so sure. (almost)

  I can't believe Kelly got into the finals. Granted, she smiled a lot, however, she danced like a Bear at a dinner party.

  How do I help my kids not buy into the JW thing?

  but i'm married to a jw lady who is very dedicated to it all.

  The focusing on sports and every extra curricular activity along with an emphasis on education beyond HS is critical. Since the JWs really push that education is bad as well as the evil influence of other *worldly* children, your kids need to see that this position of the JWs is pure and total crap, baloney and hogwash. They push that extra curricular activites be stopped because of the time it takes away from Field Service and Jehovah. (gag) If your kids tell you they enjoy Field Service, they are totally lying. Ask they truthfully, when your wife is not around. I guarantee you they hate it.

  I'm sure they don't like going to the meetings either and wish you would get your wife off their backs. Why not push your wife a little? You, as the man, are Head of the Household, according to the JWs. You can make all the decisions and she is supposed to go along with them. (They are sexist bastards, BTW) This is the only time I would ever say be a sexist bastard) In this case, it could save your family.

  A Cult such as the JWs will do everything it can to isolate them and make them feel that anyone outside of the Organization is evil and bad. This simply is not true. We all know that (now). These outside influences will allow your children to see you, their own father, as not being evil and bad. This will also give them the open minds they will need to attend college and hopefully not get baptized and hopefully leave the Organization. Hopefully your wife will also someday.

  Leaving a Cult is difficult, however, it can be done. The key is not letting your children get sucked in if you can stop it in any way.

  i see many threads that address this issue, but i still don't have a clear thought on this.

  so i want your help.. the governing body misleads the members- no doubt.

  they do change some of their history to make the wt organization look smarter or better-guided by "jehovah.

  As an aside: Everytime I talk to my Mom or any of my JW relatives, it is all about the New System. Their whole religion is built upon the New System. That is a powerful way to get people. That piece of the pie, that hope for Everlasting Life, is a powerful tool. And the resurrection. Two things that, of course, have never happened, so it is totally blind faith. You have to do what we say, when we say or you won't make it. Faith and hope. Power for them.
