  Women as second class citizens

  i don't know about anyone else, but even when i was 14 or 15 i had an issue with the fact that women are weaker vessels than men and we are to be submissive to our "head" of the house etc.... people just assumed i was a moody teenager trying to be cool by disagreeing with those scriptures but i was a feminist in the making.. i even asked an elder's wife about it and i said to her: "you're a headstrong woman, how do you feel about this?

  do you think you should succumb to paul's every word and do as he says all the time??".

  she replied: "i hate that scripture too sarah.

  If Burkas could be passed on a Biblical, the JW women would be wearing them. You can bet the men in Brooklyn would have passed that one as a principal that Jesus would have approved.

  The JWs need women as second class slaves. What better way than to twist biblical words (the NWT is not a true translation) and use those words to keep a group of people down? Especially a group of people who are desperately hoping for Everlasting Life and Paradise?

  Desperate people will do anything. Especially brainwashed desperate people.

  just supposing that you belive in it... i used to always wonder, how on earth are we going to get from one country to the other?

  i mean old type ships used to take months to get around!

  what about land travel?

  The point is not to think about that kind of stuff. That is petty and *worldly*. Actually it is greedy and somehow selfish, don't you think?

  First of all, you should be thinking about the billions of bodies you'll be burying for the foreseeable future immediatly after Armageddon. Seriously, have you thought about how you are going to bury all those dead bodies? How are you going to dig graves? Or are you just going to *Wait on Jehovah* to Zap those bodies into oblivion? Don't you think he's going to make you work for Paradise? I mean seriously, this is the God who made Noah build an Ark for a flood. He could have helped him a little. Like just put Noah on top of a Mountain. Maybe. Be a nice God and all.

  Second, when your done, (assuming you made it through of course), you can sit back, relax and pet your lion. That's right, your very own Lion King!!!

  Just like all the Awake! Magazines have been showing for years. Won't that be fun?

  As for farming? Nah, you'll be picking berries off of bushes. Foraging for roots. Maybe if you're lucky your pet lion will have fleas and you can pick those off and scarf. YUM!!

  So, won't living in the NEW SYSTEM be fun? Exciting? Something to look forward to?

  I asked my Mom about this (again) recently. She said she didn't agree with this, however, "I have faith in Jehovah". When ever she really can't answer a question or debate anything logically, the answer becomes "I have faith in Jehovah".

  That issue, for me, was big. In the 70's, Helen Reddy was singing about "I am Woman" and my Mom was getting her first job. She was reading Cosmopolitan on the sly (and I was at age 11) and then I was forced to put a napkin on my head and was told I was not as good as the boys. Uh, NO. I just knew that was not true.

  Why women in this time in the world are willing to be treated like crap I will never understand. Oh, because Paul said so? Paul, who lived 2000 years ago and wrote some ridiculous stuff that now, 2000 years later, American women are going, "Yeah, I think that sounds good. I guess I will be in submission to my Husband. I'll let him to beat the shit out of me. I'll try to get 2 witnessess to the abuse to get a spiritual divorce."

  The JWs have made zero progress in this. Zero. Again, you would think that women's lightbulbs would go off when they read this crap.

  The bulbs in some people's heads must be very dim.

  i saw a emeral palm tree (reminded me when we took a 7 day cruse) and bought it.

  HappyGuy, I was married the first time to a combo of the group I posted above.

  I am now married to your description of the Real Man . He wouldn't even date me until my former marriage was legally over. He said it just wouldn't be right. He wanted to do it *right* and wait.

  Finding a gem took time and I am one HappyGal.

  With one caveat: He does not own me. (I own him)

  So was it worth it? NO. Nobody deserves to be misled by WTS. In my opinion, nothing good as

  a result justifies the lying and total control of lives, the implanting of fears, the lost lives

  to the blood issue, the sacrifice of money and education and careers and the years wasted.
