  Is this a forum for JW issues or a poorly designed political and celebrity site?

  it appears to me that even in the few months that i have been here there is less and less emphasis on jehovah's witnesses and anything remotely related to jws and more very poor posts about politics, foreign affairs and celebrities.

  i can't omit the juvenile sex ones, which i find lacking in erotic nature.

  it seems the 6th grade boys are meeting in the locker room.. the posts that involve jws have a very different tone from the drivel posted on others.

  BOTR, I doubt many here have as much education as you-unless they are a PhD.

  That said, you do throw up the fact that you are an attorney, work in NYC, have a family with WTC ties, yada, yada, yada.

  We get it. Good for you. You go girl.

  BTW, lots of us do have degrees and even advanced degrees. We just prefer not to tell the world in an effort to keep our private life just that-private. We don't want our relatives to know who we are. At this point if any of your old JW friends and relatives are reading this public board they probably have figured out by now who you are. Not too many Ex-JWs with your credentials.

  I post on all kinds of threads and read all kinds. I do it for my own reasons. Like everyone here and all the reasons above.

  setting is obviously in the "new system", i'd say quite some time after the big a. everything looks neat and clean, so it can't be just few months or even years after the big slaughter.. let me point out few things that made me laugh:.

  every effort was made to depict natural materials, but you see leather straps with metal rivets holding the picnic basket lids.

  Oh come on, you know the standard JW answer "Jehovah will take care of it".

  As to the petro based elastic and refrigerated ice cubes-those are the items they saved when they raided the Worldlies homes. Didn't you secretly have a nice neighborhood home you staked out and let other peeps in the cong know was going to be "yours" after the Big A?

  We know you did.

  So, they are just utilizing the things Jehovah let them save. Why waste valuable time and energy making and spinning cloth when there are billions of dead bodies to bury?

  I received an e-mail from my mother who got a YouTube video of it from my Elder cousin.

  Here is an excerpt of her response:

  Hi XYZ,
  
  It worked. Don't know why the first one didn't open. This brutal attack by
  a gang of dangerous thugs is just horrible! The poor brothers were injured
  and a lot of blood was on the floor at the entry door where the lunatic thugs
  attacked them as they were celebrating the Memorial on Sunday evening.
  
  The stupid thugs even video'd their attack and posted it on the internet where
  the Police can identify them and arrest them!
  
  Whoever organized and inspired these thugs to commit this crime should
  be caught and put in jail. Then sued for all the injuries and property
  damage he/they instigated in this riot! It would have been nice if the Police
  arrested ALL the thugs, fined them and made them pay for all damages
  and injuries! They should also be sued for pain and suffering injuries.
  
  Lunatics like that only understand the language of money (which they worship as
  their true god) and when they get hit in the pocket, suddenly they become very aware of
  behaving nicely to people, avoiding conflicts and not ever participating in being an
  angry mob member!
  
  Likely the congregation members delivered invitations to some of these people/thugs
  at their homes. The thugs then went on the Internet and invited all J.W. haters to
  participate in attacking the true Christians during their peaceful celebration of the
  Memorial!

  Thugs are true lovers of violence and brutality; evidence their "religion" never
  taught them peace and non-violence, nor love of their neighbor! Likely, from one side
  of their mouths, they claim to be Christians. From the other side of their mouths, they
  prove by their actions and slanders what they really are: brutal low lifes and common
  criminals.

  Prayers for my daughter, Ali, not a good update

  my last update on my daughter was so good...but it didn't turn out that way.

  she was cleared to go back to work, but with limitations... she couldn't lift more than 10 pounds.

  her employer wanted her back but wouldn't agree to the lifting restriction.

  Poster Vs. Person

  sometimes we treat people here like our friends and sometimes we treat them like crap.

  and we may often view them indifferently.. i've often said here that i very much doubt some individuals would talk to me face to face like they do here.

  in this forum you can get away with a lot because i think we tend to view the people behind the keyboards as merely "posters" -- not real persons.

  Ahhh, road rage. I was driving to work one day. I was thisclose to being late and had to punch the literal time clock or be docked 15 minutes. I needed those 15 minutes of pay god dammit!!!

  I got on the highway and a Mercedes was in the right lane going 45 MPH. The speed limit was 55. The cars in the left lane were zippy by going 65 and I simply could not pass this dumb ass in the Mercedes. I was screaming at the driver to "READ MY LIPS." I called the driver every name I could think of.

  I finally got an opportunity to pass, about 5 miles later. I looked over, flipped the middle finger and almost crashed my car.

  Looking straight ahead was my direct supervisor in the Mercedes!!! WTF?!!! She drove a Toyota!!!

  I sped away, got to the parking lot, took a space, parked and ran in the building, clocked in with seconds to spare and got to my desk. I was in tears.

  About an hour later I recounted what happened to my desk mate. She laughed and said Christine, our supervisor probably hadn't seen me, she was such an airhead. I was just about relaxed when Christine walked up and asked how everything was this morning? I stammered out "OK" and smiled weakly.

  She started walking away then turned and looked at me and smiled and said:

  "Oh, VIII, I can read lips."

  Later she came by and said she was driving her boyfriends car and thrilled with opportunity to drive such a nice vehicle.

  That taught me a valuable lesson.

  Look into the rearview mirror of anyone you are going to curse out. If you recognize them, don't.

  Same thing with the Internet.

  Trying to explain it to someone who is totally clueless is hopeless. They will never get *IT*.

  *IT* being a completely nutty reason: "It's pagan", "It's Worldly", etc.
