  What Rutherfold did.

  1. Get a mansion, tell the WT tools that it was for the Big Guys, you know, when they return to earth. (They'll need a place to rest and all; muhahaha)

  2. Set up a bank account where Obama and staff couldn't find it and start depositing my paycheck, which I would insist be large. I couldn't run a chairitable organization so large without a very large salary. (wink, wink)

  3. Hire all my worldlie friends as my cloestest staff, especially lawyers. I know a few; they would make good WT corporate attorneys. Of course, they would have to be compensated as they would at a standard Partners rate.

  Because she is being compensated really, really well. $$$

  I have to go to Wal-Mart; lots of peeps in Wal-Mart don't use deodorant. OTOH, there are the old gals who douse themselves in perfume and still haven't bathed in days. Stinky of a different sort.

  Makes you wonder what they see when they look down in their underware?

  VIII, bathes and uses stuff under my pits that is of perscription strength--daily. I sniff before I leave the house.

  Black Families & Shunning

  after reading password's blog on freeminds, and following the thread about the 7/09 awake, i am saddened to hear the experiences of so many who have been shunned by their families.. i confess that when i first started reading at this site - 8 years ago - i couldn't believe what i was seeing.

  i knew that df'd persons were to be excluded from any spiritual interaction, but i'd never personally witnessed the extreme shunning that the society encourages.. i've often mentioned that this seldom happens in black families.

  of course, i have no statistical evidence to back this up, but i have yet to see a family in my area practice this kind of shunning.

  My family has been in this organization since the early 1900s. They were taught to shun anyone who is not. This has had far reaching and devestating effects. My own mother speaks to me because of her own issues with her own immediate family. This could change any moment. That I know.

  As for race: The congs we attended had some black and some latino families. They didn't seem to mind shunning their family members who left. However, they were being closely watched by the elders so they might have been putting on a good show.

  Knew a guy who was a football player in college. He was convinced that *real* men didn't wear deodorant. When he realized that *real* women didn't date men who didn't wear deodorant, he started.

  edited to add:

  My mom doesn't wear deodorant. She is convinced that she doesn't smell. I can't get it through her head that, indeed, she does. She has been smelling it so long she just doesn't smell it. When one hugs her--UGH!!!

  New to the Forum

  hi i have been on a few days - im not sure how it all works but heres my history - maybe people can relate to it... well basically when i was nine years old my brother died from an epileptic fit.

  there were four of us, the eldest who died, another brother, me and my younger sister.

  shortly after the witnesses came knocking on my mums door.

  Welcome to the board. You have had a hard time but sound like a very strong woman.

  I understand about the 10 post restriction. I will say everything I can here: I have only 6 posts until this evening when I can post 4 more. I don't understand when I will get to post more or how it works. Oh well.

  There are lots of helpful people here. I read for a long time before I could post. I really appreciate all the old and new posts.

  i met a jw this past saturday, he was doing street witnessing, he told me that the end was coming.

  i asked him when that is going to happen, and he told me that 2014 will be 100 years since satan was dismissed from heaven.

  he told me that it would'nt make sense for god to let more than 100 years "pass before ending this world".. .

  I have been told *this* is the Great Tribulation due to high unemployment, financial crisis, bad politicians, etc. When I point out that numerous times in the last 100 years the same thing has happened and Armageddon still hasn't happened I get hung up on.

  I recall being alive in 1975. In the summer. And the fall. And the winter. (When The Big A was supposed to come, remember?)

  Oh, yeah, and in January 1976. So much for The Big A coming.

  What does nicotine feel like?

  i have never smoked or used any tobacco products aside from puffing on a cigar a few times (maybe 5 times in my life).

  even with the few cigar experiences (which i did not enjoy much) i never noticed any real "feeling" from the tobacco.

  what is it supposed to feel like?

  I would ask my mother-in-law but she died 3 weeks ago from small cell lung cancer. The most aggressive type of lung cancer and is almost always caused by smoking.

  5 weeks from diagnoses to death. It smothered her to death. It metastasized from her lung to her liver and BAM! She died a most horrible death. All because she was hooked on cigarettes. She had them hidden all over her home.

  I never tried a cigarette. The smell of her home made me ill. The smell of her documents that I am sorting makes me ill.

  Why anyone would want to suck on burning leaves is beyond comprehension.

  it actually turned out to be more of a fight than a discussion.

  These are the saddest threads on this board. Losing a spouse, over a religion is just horrible. Horrible.

  It is terrible that the vast majority of us have lost most, if not all of our extended families over this f-ing religion. However, to lose the person you have vowed to love; it just makes me sick.

  My heart aches for everyone of you.
