Great stuff.
The pics are great. I used to dress that way.
i have debated about doing this for a while (i still don't even know if the pics will show up good enough) coming across sir82's "insider" notes got me looking through my stuff today, and i thought i would share a few of the letters with you.. i also do this for another reason: i know occasionally, that "trolls" (so called) come and go, and people here get worried or upset.
i don't worry at all, i personally think they aren't here to "save" any potential lurkers, they just come here to tick us off.
but i also realize that some authoratative information might help to ease some concerns.
Great stuff.

anyone gonna watch this?
looks awesome!.
Didn't any of you notice the mocking way the writers wrote about Anna and the devotion they want the humans to have? The way the humans were revering the Visitors? The clapping, people passing out, etc. Much like people are revering Obama? And the Visitors are going to provide Universal Health Care to the humans? I thought all the outright pokes at current events, here, now, and the current way *we* humans are acting towards our President was hysterical.
Heck, Anna even resembled Obama. She could be his really hot, half-sister.
And, the purchasing of the press was especially interesting. The news anchor even looked like Brian Williams of NBC. Anna said they refused to be seen in a negative light and wouldn't give an interview unless the news caster gave a positive interview.
The kid of the FBI agent is obsessed with the Visitors and spends his days texting and tagging buildings with their message of *HOPE*.
How funny. The script writers got that one past the Hollywood bigwigs. Or the bigwigs are in on it.
Exactly as Mary said: turn off the lights and pretend you're not home. We used to sit in the dark, ignoring the knocks and ringing doorbell. In spite of everyone knowing we were not participating and all the lights being off, the local kids, who never T&T'd with parents, still came to the door. They loved antagonizing us.
Now, I turn on the lights, put a lighted pumpkin on the porch and hand out handfuls to each kid that comes begging. I figure if they have dress up and walk door-to-door asking for candy, I'm going to give them lots of it.
i have always said to those that had questions about fading that they should expect to lose their friends.
it seems that in the vast majority of cases, only family (and sometimes not even them) are willing to overlook jw-weakness and maintain relationships.
if you do keep a friend of a jw, then they are potentially deep into jw-weakness.
Very good post. Very sad. Makes me remember a lot of things.

What an incredible story. That is wonderful. I am very happy for you. If only I could get my mom to see the light. I sent her CoC and she won't consider it. She got really angry at me. (sigh) Perhaps she hasn't burned it.
Again, best wishes. I wish everyone with a spouse still in had your luck.
what do you members think - is there any mileage in 'formally' apologizing to my 4 sons (now aged 20 - 34) of my stupid jw indoctrination during their formative years?
i still have pangs of guilt.
yet, on balance, i have to admit that it couldn't have been too damaging as they are all totally out of the cult.
Well, my mom is still in. My sis is out, DFd and very, very bitter. In spite of her not thinking about the JWs for years and never being shunned because she lived out of state, she now has found the ex-JW boards and a hoard of information on how she should feel. ANGRY!!! She is angry she was raised a JW. Angry at everything to do with the JWs. And she is furious at our mom for not apologizing to her for being a JW and for not apologizing to her now.
Umm, mom is still in and tries to get us both back.
So, if my mom were out, I would like an apology. My dad said he was sorry he ever became a JW. That was nice to hear. Sis never heard that.
So, since you are out, as they are, and they don't seem to angry and bitter, I would give it a shot, as betsy advised. Beer helps most situations.
about 2 mos ago...my parents decided that because i refused to continue my 'reinstatement' process and quit going to meetings - that they were now going to shun me after having regular contact for 10 mos!
i was upset, but accepted it.
although their method was harsh!
Hi babygirl, I am so sorry you heard about your parents this way. Hugs.
I agree with journey-on. Keep in touch with notes and cards, letting them know you love them and care for them. I did that with my Mom and my relatives and it has paid off. They have stayed in touch with me. (more or less, the Elder kinda shuns, that is to be expected) It is worth the effort.
so my son watched the movie.
"paranormal activity".
he told me and his still believing mom about it and she went into a long couple of hours talking about how the demons abused their family during the 60's and 70's and also during a short period during the 1980's and 1990's when her divorced mom and little sister were living alone.. she told him all about how the demons flee when you read the psalms because they have jehovah in them.
There were always stories like this. And they are nutZ. Might as well believe that demons come out of your computer when you go on Apostate websites.
Oh, but they believe that too. Or, if you watch The Exorcist, you'll walk out demonized.
Crazy. Demons, which don't exist, wouldnt' be frightened off by a magazine or reading of Psalms.
Regarding websites, why would a demon come through your computer when s/he could just fly through the window? Do demons like high speed or telephone lines for transportation? Is one better than the other?
Can demons transport through an iPhone?
I think JD is working on a research paper or pro bono case.
Do you think speed laws should be enforced? Do you ever get angry with someone for driving too fast?
I have been pulled over with law enforcement going the other direction and they have told me they clocked me "fast". "How fast?" I've asked. That's when they tell me their radar said 15 miles over the limit. Considering they were alone in the car and moving, the radar was inoperable.
So, I've not received a ticket. I also was going about 30 miles over the limit. They knew I was speeding, just not how much.
So, only once in a while. Like Fe203Girl.
i'm running vista home premium on my dell inspiron.
dell custom build to your requirements and i went for 4gb of ram from the start (almost 2 years ago).
i know vista has been much maligned but honestly, i've had no problems with it.
Hmmm, I am on an old laptop right now because my desktop wireless keyboard had totally stopped working.
Totally. Over the course of the last few weeks, a two year-old Dell, running Vista, has been getting lots of automatic updates. And the wireless keyboard has been acting strange. It has stopped working, then starts, then the keys stick.
Yesterday, nothing. I reinstalled batteries, tried reinstalling the software, etc. Nothing.
I purchased a new wireless keyboard, thinking it was that. Nothing.
I am getting an error message saying "Terminal Keyboard Server Keyboard Error" and #1606. I went into the Device Manager and there is no entry for the keyboard--it's gone!
I went all over Microsofts support page and found out that Vista basically ate my wireless keyboard file and won't reinstall it. WTF?!
I was able to get into Computer Management and System Devices and there is no item for Keyboard (apparently there should be), so that seems to be the problem. When I try to reload the software for the keyboard, it says it doesn't recognize it and is missing a key component and isn't compatible. It is a Windows keyboard!
Vista keeps trying to download Service pack 2, which seems to be the root of taking out my keyboard.
So, I may be getting a new computer with Windows 7 very soon, if I can't make a wired keyboad work.
Up until this, I had no problems with Vista; it was fine. This is the first time I've ever heard of total loss of keyboard.
I was able to get the desktop working with a wired keyboard, but, that is not my first option. The wireless keyboardcame with the thing and the mouse still works! Crazy.
