  Anyone ever thought of calling the cops? Just for shi*s and giggles? get the punks on videotape blocking the machine and when then wait for the cops to show up at the front door and explain that some bullies are blocking the machine and not letting anyone have any sodies. I might go to Bakersfield just to do that! LOL

  Memorial Invite Almost Got The Cops Called...

  so, i was minding my own business washing the family laundry and talking with my youngest son when a jw (without a tie) comes into the laundromat and starts passing memorial invitations around.

  mostly poor illegal aliens besides me and my son were who the folks were from what i could tell.

  well they all accepted them and chatted with him a bit and i was just trying to avoid him because for some reason i get really mad when these people get near me.. well here he comes and asks if i speak spanish, so i lie to end the thing quickly and tell him no.

Well they all accepted them and chatted with him a bit and I was just trying to avoid him because for some reason I get really mad when these people get near me.

  Well here he comes and asks if I speak Spanish, so I lie to end the thing quickly and tell him no. Well he says to me that I look Mexican and that he thinks I speak Spanish. So I told him that if I do or not shouldn't matter to him and that I have laundry to fold. But he won't shut up about how the memorial is coming up and blah blah blah so I told him (in Spanish) that if he wants to discuss stuff, why not discuss the wt covering up for pedophile elders and then paying millions in hush money to victims. He got all defensive so I asked him, "I thought you really wanted to talk?" He tried to leave so I followed him out the door asking him why he was inviting these nice people to be exposed to a bunch of child molesters. He said he'd call the cops on me if I didn't leave him alone.....then he went into ROBOT MODE....LOL I asked him to leave me alone.

  A young couple tore their invitation and a couple of other people tossed them out. One young guy asked me if it was true about the molesting. I pointed him to msnbc online. Then my son took over telling him about all the crap HE has seen just in our old congregation, with drunken elders, spouse abusers, and his granma who is the star pioneer but neglects his grampa. I really need to get a laptop or at least carry some fliers that I can tack up on the bulletin boards...

  Reluctant to tell others of JW past?

  has anyone felt uncomfortable telling others that they were once jws?

  i have shared this info with very few people in the 19 years since i left.

  i don't want to have to explain to someone who wouldn't understand anyway.

  There are scores of people who know me for years...even when I was an active jw that never even suspect that I was one. Carrying that label was like asking to be the neighborhood or workplace pariah....

  Are looks important to you?

  be honest about it.

  many people put a lot of emphasis on the way they look and put a lot of effort into maintaing their look.

  the current younger generation is obsessed by it.

  I think it's hysterical how they quote these news sources when it suits them or when they validate something they are wanting to believe, but when these sources expose them as pedophiles and murdering scum they call them biased tools fo Satan.

  I would like to comment on the closing 11 minutes of the talk to see if the Watchtower fits their description of true religion.
  
  Here it is with my comments in RED:
  
  Leading a godly life is linked to having an accurate knowledge of God (Tit 1:1) [Read Colossians 3:10]
  Hence, true religion from God’s standpoint must be based on the truth as found in the Holy Scriptures (Joh 8:32; 17:17)
  
  (If this is so, shouldn't God be the judge of what is true and not the Watchtower?)
  True religion will produce people who do God’s will and reflect the wisdom from above [Read James 3:17, 18]
  
  (Most any religion does this.)
  It must guide people in the way of love (Joh 13:34, 35; 1Jo 3:10)
  
  (Most churches do this better than the Watchtower does.)
  People who practice religion that is true from God’s standpoint exalt God’s name and preach about his Kingdom (Ps 83:18; Mt 24:14)
  
  (All Christians do this by calling on the name of Jesus and sharing the Gospel.)
  They are readily identifiable by their works of faith
  
  (Any church has works of faith that identify them. Jehovah's witnesses have one work. Preaching. Other Churches do much more as far as works of faith go.)
  True religion encourages everyone to examine the Scriptures and prove to themselves the perfect will of God (Ro 12:2)
  This can be done by learning what the Bible teaches (Joh 17:3)
  
  (Any Christian or Jewish Congregation does this.)
  
  Allow the Bible’s teachings to produce good fruitage in you (1Th 2:13)
  
  (As evidenced by what I have seen in different forums, the jw's miss this mark by miles and miles.)
  Examine the evidence for yourself, and practice “the form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father”
  
  (Again, any Christian, Jewish or Muslim group will encourage this.)
  It is evident to me that there is nothing Special about this upcoming talk.
  
  Thanks for posting this. I am going to go talk to my wife's uncle about it. Then when the talk is given he will be mad because I knew before the elders did! LOL

  my mother-in-law is a jw (not a fanatic).

  she goes to the meetings every now and then; she occasionally goes out preaching.

  Actually I think they would be throwing away their hole card if they stopped dfing people. Keeping the slaves scared to death is how they keep them in line.

  Good news ,My son has researched the witnesses on his own !

  over the past three years i have dropped a few points about why i am no longer attending meetings .

  nothing in depth .. i did stress alot of it was due to never feeling good enough , the emotional pressure to follow organizational rules over my own conscience and my personal objection of how education is discouraged .

  i also have shared with my kids their whole life that when i was raised ,armegeddon fears were rammed down my throat ,something i refused to do to them .. i have worried excessivly how my older two sons would respond to me once they realized i am never going back .. well my son came home for a visit to go out and celebrate my birthday this weekend !

  Not to steal your thunder, but I can pat you on the back as one who knows the feeling. My youngest is 17 and has told me often how the Watchtower is nothing but a BS cult. I am glad your son uses his mind as well!
