when you left the wts did you leave over something specific?
did you, or do you, still believe in some of the jw ideas?.
in my own case i left over a family issue i have mentioned elsewhere.
I left because I am an athiest, it is quite hard to be an athiest JW. My journey to being an athiest began early, unfortunately I was baptised earlier. I stayed in for a long time due to family and friends. Eventually I could not take living a lie.
Of course being an athiest I don't maintain any of the witness teachings. I was out mentally long before I actually left.
There is geologic evidence of severe earthquakes in areas that we now consider tectonically stable, there is geologic evidence of earthquakes worse than humans have seen, there is geologic evidence of super volcanoes that would by far surpass anything we have seen. And natural disasters are getting worse?
The more sensors we have, the more earthquakes we will know about. But there are no more earthquakes now than there have ever been.

just found out the other day from a friend that 3 congregations are merging down to 1!
I know of several merges in the midwest. Industry left, so did the younger JWs who had to support family, additionally no new growth from born ins since younger families left. So they merge congergations and make the elderly JWs drive further.
has anyone felt uncomfortable telling others that they were once jws?
i have shared this info with very few people in the 19 years since i left.
i don't want to have to explain to someone who wouldn't understand anyway.
I don't advertise it, I have told a few people. Most people don't really know all that much about JWs, other than that they come to thier door. Most people wouldn't take it much differently than if you said you used to be a catholic or baptist.
i have to confess that i sometimes suffer from a minor case of road rage, especially on the expressway, right after work.
i have quite a few pet peeves, but two that especially bother me.. first, when people apply their brakes constantly, and for no apparent reason.
it's generally people who have already cut in front of me and forced me to slow down.
I've got several.
I agree on the not using turn signals. Why do idiots slam on thier brakes for no reason? The concept of a four way stop is very difficult for many to grasp. And why can't they understand merging? So many idiots slow down to merge. And if someone is behind you, get the hell out of the fast lane. It doesn't matter if you are doing the speed limit, you are impedeing the flow of traffic. And what is with the people who don't accelerate through the apex of the turn? And if whatever you are doing while you are driving; be it talking on the phone, trying to figure out directions, whatever; pull over. I could go on and on.
i gave mine back a week or two after i quit going but i wish i had it back now.
i feel a little mischievous, eh, eh.
if you still have it or if you don't, is there anything special you would like to do with it?
I gave them my key at the begining of the JC meeting, I had no intention of still being a JW at the end.
i just wonder if 2 of each kind of all the land animals can fit the ark?
do you know how big the ark was?
maybe someone should try to bring 2 animals of each kind in the ark to see if it is possible.
Even if you narrow it down to a pair of each "kind", say just two dogs, not two of each species, you couldn't fit them all in the arc. And then you have to consider the diversification that would be required to produce all the species (which, by the way, is evolution), it would be impossible to happen in the time since the flood.

Funny, I don't remember any of this from the Proclaimers book. It is amazing what they manage to hide.
There are nearly 40,000 living species of spiders. Spiders wouldn't have made it through a flood. It is not likely too many species have evolved since (oh wait, I forgot, god created them, they didn't evolve). So there surely were two of each of the species, so nearly 80,000 spiders. Sh*t, I hope Noah wasn't arachnaphobic.
