And while you're at it, could you tell me what BTT is? I've seen that several places and don't have a clue.

I don't see anything dishonest here.
He's making the point that our current crisis has nothing to do with health care, education, or environmental concerns.
He's right. -

Phonecall from a JW witnessing.....
by sweet pea infinally i got my chance to see what a witness was made of on the phone yesterday.. .
her opening line was "we haven't been able to reach you at your door, so that's why we're calling (barefaced lie as we have had witnesses call latey who even came back for a return visit but that's besty's story...).
we had a lively but ultimately very frustrating conversation.

In all the years I knocked on doors, there were a handful of people who engaged me in conversation and asked me questions like you asked your JW caller, sweet pea. And they made so much more of an impression than they could ever know. I totally agree that no one will leave the WT before they are ready. But hopefully, what you said will be replayed in her mind and the doubt will start to grow.
I remember being on the receiving end of conversations like that. I still remember a couple of them decades later. You're not going to de-convert someone on your doorstep. But you can plant seeds of doubt that may sprout years later.
You'll never know if you succeeded, but it's worth a try.
And it's fun, too.

Not hiding – still under the newbee 10 posts a day limit.
Hot Chocolate, not sure which Hittman you're thinking of. I'm not the rapper (I hate rap), nor the bad heavy metal band. I'm this Hittman:
Quick Hitts
And probably of more interest to the people on this board, I'm this Hittman:
Blood Witness - A podiobook about a Jehovah's Witness who becomes a vampire.
Thanks for the welcome! It was a pleasant surprise to see this thread here this morning, I just had to wait for the 10 posts limit to expire before I could reply to it. -

Consider how many years they spent pouring garbage in your head. You're not going to get it all cleaned out in a day or a month or a year. Everyone recovers at a different rate. It usually takes at least several years.
These clowns have carefully planted tendrils of their nonsense into every nook and cranny of your thought. Even if you rip most of it out by the roots, you will still be surprised, at least occasionally, to find one you missed. But eventually you can clean it all out, and replace it all with a solid grounding in reality.

Why do JW's hate EX-JW'S more than WORLDLIES?
by african GB Member indo they feel intimidated by the fact that ex-jw's know all about the way they function as an organization?
(well except what happens at the "back room" and at gb decision making meetings)..... is it because they can still "catch" worldlies?.
...or is it because ex-jw's could poison those still in "the truth"?.

I was in a mall the other day when I saw one of the ELDERS who conducted my JC,...he made sure I was watching when he completely ignored me and in the processes he happened to meet a WORLDLY man who lives 2 blocks down from my house, he shook this man's hand, smiled at him while he kept his eye at me to make sure I was aware....
Now my question is: Is this realy the way the Bible says DF'd individuals should be treated?
I'd ask a different question: Is this the way any grownup should act? I'd be embarrassed for a twelve year old who did that. -

I worked for a Catholic hospital and it probably will shut down, but it has nothing to do with Obama. The nuns there run a pretty unorganized place. They refuse to work enough nurses and patient care is lousy and downright dangerous because of it. Yet they talk about their "mission of compassion and caring for the sick".
But you can be certain that if they do shut down, they'll blame the government rather than admit to incompetence. -

Infant mortality rates - US versus other countries
by Bonnie_Clyde inhave you seen some of the figures that the us has a higher mortality rate than many other countries?

My apologies. I stand corrected.
The UN always tells the truth
The UN always tells the truth
The UN always tells the truth
The UN always tells the truth
The UN always tells the truth
I think I'm starting to believe that. . .
Especially the WHO. They never lie. Nuh uh, not them, never ever.
It's both sad and funny that so many people really believe this, and quote UN stats as if they have any relation to reality. -

For example, in the USA, unemployment stands reported currently at 8.2% across the country but they do not include any person not receiving unemployment benefits.
Nor do they report people who are now working crappy minimum wage jobs in place of good paying jobs they've lost.
But any numbers can be manipulated and lied about. And if it's coming from the UN, you can be absolutely certain there's a great deal of fiction mixed in with a smattering of fact.
