Since you don't really care, what difference does it make?
VERY good point Xandit.
i have a question.... if the elders "catch wind" of something that could be a df'ing offense, and they ask for a judicial, if you don't show up or refuse to talk to them, can they disfellowship u in absence??
if they can, is there any legal action that can be taken against it?.
i've been threatened by my jw husband (we are separated) because i've met someone else...he is threatening to tell the elders i'm dating someone else ( though as of yet, no "fornication" has occured and it's long distance) if i don't write a letter of disassociation.

the following is copied directly from the society's official website.
for any here who are familiar with the change in understanding of the 1914 generation, it may seem quite shocking.. the society put this information on their site *after* the change in understanding and have kept it there for the past five years!.
begin quote.
Wassup with the pyramids anyway?
Russell was just as interested in the pyramids as his masonic friends were. Remember! They show the divine plan of God, along with the sacred wheat.
when viv mouritz , former branch coordinator in australia, addressed the special meeting of sydney and surrounding area congregations at the superdome last weekend, he blamed the young witnesses who were leaving "the truth" for the drop in numbers in australia.. at the service meeting this week in one sydney congregation it was announced by a bethel elder that the elders have been told (as if they didn't know already!
) that 2,000 have left "the truth" in the past two years in australia.
this typical congregation of 120 publishers has lost 19 inactive since 1999.. the march 2001 issue of kingdom ministry (australian edition) gives the number of publishers for december as 58,426, pioneers 3,315 and 19 baptized.. in dec '98 there were 58,706 pubs, and in dec '99 there were 58,000.. with 1,600-1,800 being baptized each year, there is indeeed a 2,000 shortfall.. so, who's to blame?
Mommy,
She wants me to put into writing my faiths and what I don't believe about the wtbts.
I would tend to agree with you there. Seems a grand supplement to the "tunnel of doubts" article.
Did your mother tell you WHY you should put this in writing? Just curious.

JT:
Very perceptive. Makes alot of sense. Definately looks like something the WT would do.
i have made a couple of remarks regarding family dynamics on other threads, but i thought it's be nice to start a new thread.... i'm no psychologist, but suffice it to say i see some similarities here.
(please add to/comment on these thoughts).
the organization wishes to be seen as our mother.
Now you really must go over to the sex forum and introduce yourself to everyone!
Now that's a line I could have used a few years back. LOL

The truth about the matter is, you are both Liars, of the lowest order.
Oh man, that's a shame. You are right though mds. Mine and Larc's "lies" compare nothing to your own. You are an inspiration to liars everywhere. (sorry, couldn't resist).
You are just making your "routine," malicious slander, without any proof of any kind as always.
Fact: Larc, myself, and many others see a sick young man who goes by the handle Logical who needs plenty of uplifting and encouragement from fellow humans (and perhaps some medication, but who knows with the adverse effects that his previous meds had on him). In the chat the other night, YOU came into the room and asked him how his latest JW study went, and you only stayed long enough to find out what his scriptural argument to them would be, then YOU LEFT. YOU WEREN'T AROUND TO HEAR LOGICAL SAY "Where is MDS?" "Why doesn't he come back?" One can only speculate where you were, but you definately weren't there for him. He even told me himself that you "didn't stick around long enough to find out" how he was feeling.
All you need to see, the name "MDS," ... and you just jump right in there, without having any facts of any kind.
I have my reasons to "jump right in there", as you say, and you could find those reasons out if you just asked Logical, because I have told them to him.
Now, go on an ask him. If he tells you TRUTHFULLY what I told him for my reasonings of distrust/dislike of you, then I would like to see you come up with a scriptural reason to demonize me for CARING FOR ANOTHER'S WELL-BEING.
b]John 8:44speaks plainly why so many, brazenly, practice what you and "Larc," routinely do,
BTW, I can't really say that the (now, mild-tempered) fellow a few miles away who is losing his hair and making money on the side doing people's income tax returns is the devil, so you might want to reconsider the context of your quote from John.
Also, just as JWs do, you erroneously assume that someone who displays malice toward you is working for satan. Please calm down and face the fact that some people just don't like you.
BTW, When I say "you", I mean you[/b] mds the guy/gal that's sitting at the computer reading this post. Not Jehovah, not Jesus, not the angels, not the apostles, not satan, nor anyone else listed in the Bible.
*** you ***
So please quite misquoting scripture.

ok, thank you for the clarification there bjc2012. Now I understand. mds did not show "brotherly love" to Logical when he needed it. Very good. I shall remember that. Perhaps Logical will too.

it's true!
many of you here who scoff at the battle of armaggedon being a reality are in for a big surprise.
it will be a fear inspiring day in which there will only be one side that will survive.
Jr, spectromized asked you:
If you don't mind me asking what is your view of blood?
and your response:
The "Society" has that right.
So it's your contention to allow for fractions of total blood as a matter of conscience instead of a total abstainance of blood (just as the society allows). Isn't this a contradiction of the straightforward command to "continue abstaining from blood"? I can only presume this as your viewpoint, because in reading your post, it seems you are so busy declaring to spectromize that you have God's favor now that you are not answering the simple question he has put forth. More proof of this is in spectromize's further qualification:
If someone in an accident is seriously injured is it proper to accept blood...ect?
Because you have not addressed this issue. Since you are on a DISCUSSION BOARD instead of a KH, please quit playing demigod and answer the man's questions.

just wondering..... for those of us who are inactive, or have serious doubts, etc etc... are you going to the memorial, even though you don't fully agree with how they explain things?.
anyone planning to have their own at home?.
or are you still planning on going, even if it's to say g'day to long "lost" friends?.
neyank:
I started to feel that celebrating the Memmorial was just another gimmick to keep the r&f in line.
This aspect is what I find disturbing. If I were a JW who felt I was "annointed", then I'd better be prepared for the ridicule that comes with the claim. (mentally ill, self righteous, etc.)
seems a shame.
the very first scripture cited under the "sharing on a judicial committee" in the elders book is duet.
1:16. here are a million questions!
how do members let the higher -ups use a scripture from the ot where moses was speaking to isreal, and completely disregard jesus' words?
Somebody:
In a post from JT:
after much research i have identified the folllowing program files on most jw- while from time to time some may become corrupted they are quickly replaced at he next meeting sorta like AOL always UPDATING your software:these are the files
meetings.exe
...
That's what's funny. :)
Also, I agree with you re: Jesus' teachings. It's sometimes very hard to reconcile Paul's and John's writings about Jesus. As the apocrypha was dropped for contradicting other scripture, I wonder if any other book(s) currently in the Bible could fit the same category. *shrug*
neyank:
I hear what you are saying, but it seems to me that the Pharicies had an exact set of laws that they were following in scripture, while the GB has interpolated most of their laws and made them ad-hoc to befit the distribution of literature. One was following Law, the other created a new one.
