Wow! Slap me twice and call me raspberry jelly!
Logical just said "your opinion"!
So does this mean that you have your own opinion logical, or are opinions only allowed to others besides yourself?

i printed these questions from a website long ago, and loved them to death cuz they freed me from that god-forsaken religion.
i challenge any witness to answer all of them in their entirety, since the true religion stands against all falsehood.
please note that these are from scriptures in the new world translation, used by jehovah's witnesses.
perfectpie:
5) Jesus uses the phrase "Truly I say to you,..." over 50 times in the bible. IN the NWT, the comma is placed after the word "you" every time except in Lk 23:43, where the comma is placed after the word "today". Why is the comma placed after "today" instead of after you "you" in this verse? If the translation of this phrase in Lk 23:43 was consistent with the translation of this phrase in all the other verses in which it appears, and the comma was placed after "you", how would it read?your answer:
"to be in harmony with other factors like Jesus being the first to go to Heaven from the Earth."
Who has the right to determine what is and isn't "in harmony" with scripture? Is not altering scripture to appease a human interpretation of scripture suspect in the very least?
Which crime is worse? Literally altering scripture for a man-made doctrine, or altering interpretations of scripture for a man-made doctrine?
to all those who have in some way left the organization (be it disfellowshipping, disassociating, dis-whatever):.
come now, i know the amount of people who "realized that wt doctrine was in serious error" and politely handed in their letter of resignation has to be very small.
the level of bitterness and hostility towards the closest-to-what's-biblical organization has to develop some other way.. what did you do?
Most apostate stuff turned out to be either lies about the WTBS, distorted facts, or just plain hostility, which was easy to see through. Doctrinal issues were always solved in favor of WTBS.
Unfortunately, people like you are why so many others are still stuck in your "religion". I don't suppose you and your "spiritual brother" studied any of the original materials. My assumption is that you studied the bound-reprints that hide much of the damning statements. I can see people like you 30 years from now yelling "Worship was never givin to Jesus in the NWT! NEVER!"
BTW, as you were discovering "truths about appostate lies" did you ever check to make sure you weren't reading from an unbiased source? I gather not, since "Doctrinal issues were always solved in favor of WTBS" from WTBS sources.
What's sad is, others on this board who have the original issues of the mags when they were originally printed could show you WHY you were duped, but unfortunately your faith is so firmly placed in a man-made religion that you would look back at them and call them liars because there magazine does not match your reprint.
I will desist further "argument" with you. You seem to be a TROLL anyway. (You are giving me a good laugh too. Thank you, I really needed it!)

I'm glad you admitted that you are an ignorant rank & file, because that's exactly what you sound like. Perhaps you will change your mind once you read that elder's manual that every other dub tells you doesn't exist. (That is, if you don't start putting two and two together before you make "eldership".)
Enjoy your illusion, reality is not as pleasant.
in the christian part of the world not many of us have escaped the much hyped and published sacrifice christ supposedly made when the romans executed him.. i myself was going around for years parroting this strange concept without giving it much thought.
thinking and faith some times do not mix very well.. anyway, apparently god made a royal blunder when he created the first humans and they plunged mankind into death and despair first crack out of the box, while god stood by and watched helplessly.
then we are told that god for this reason, in his infinite wisdom took mankind for ransom for thousands of years.

I wish you the best of luck. And might I say you've done a good job of melding man-made science and man-made religion.
Your belief in your perceptions are just as profound as that of any scientist struggling to hold on to his cherrished theory.
I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors. I will desist from enquiring from you further on this issue because you have already admitted the obvious.

Hey AlanF.
I was going to mention some of the sun vs. size and distance issues that you are bringing up, but then I got an idea.
I whipped on over to good ol' dictionary.com and looked up the definition of exact:
ex·act (g-zkt)
adj.1. Strictly and completely in accord with fact; not deviating from truth or reality: an exact account; an exact replica; your exact words.
2. Characterized by accurate measurements or inferences with small margins of error; not approximate: an exact figure; an exact science.3. Characterized by strict adherence to standards or rules: an exact speaker.
As you can see, most of us use the term EXACT as in definition #1 (factual). Technically though, aChristian is correct in stating exactness in leu of definition #2 regarding the moon and it's distance from the sun.
I do agree with you that his claims regarding eclipses are misleading, albeit accidentally so.

Hey aChirstian:
You wrote: Thank you SO MUCH for being honest and at least admitting that some of your more interesting observations are as speculative as those of many of what you would call "evolutionists".I think you have me mixed up with someone else. I have never here or anywhere else criticized evolutionists for anything. I am fully convinced that God used evolution as His means of creation and that evolution probably occurred exactly as modern science tells us that it did.
Not to overly "anal-ise" myself (pun intended) I was referring to your attitude toward this discussion. In your previous post to me on this thread you admitted that some would consider your ideas a bit "off-center" (to paraphrase). I think it's great that you can state your beliefs without demonizing/degrading others who disagree with your points of view. I think it's very mature of you, and this is why I call YOU "sensible" while your ideas I personally consider "off-center".
: I fail to see how finding life on another planet is a sign from Jesus.Who said it is?
Sorry. I accused you of another's "crime". When you mentioned in the post above about the 400 billion galaxies being the "signs in the sun, moon and stars", I erroneously inferred that the you would consider the probability of past/present life on mars to be another "sign of the end", as others have said to me. My mistake.

Hey aChristian:
Nice content for your upcoming book. Should make for some interesting reading.
You mentioned that others have said that our planet's coincidences are unmatched in our solar system.
What do you think about the other solar systems we have found in our galaxy with the help of the hubble space telescope, as well as additional galaxies even further away? How does this fit into your line of thinking?
Also, how does Mars fit into your line of thinking, now that NASA is finally coming clean and admitting what they found 20+ years ago regarding Mars past evidently being warm, and wet? (Let's not go into martian meteorites or probable plantlife on the southern pole).
is there any denial that at 1 kings 7:23, the value of pi is ascertained as 3.000?.
and where does this leave the idea that the bible is inspired in every word, jot, and tittle by god?
just wondering.. any takers?.
arniem & JanH:
Both of you derive your cognance of how things come about by handwritten books.
All this silly arguing back and forth about creation vs. evolution is getting nowhere. Both of you have the choice of how to excercise your thinking instinct. One considers the writings to be inspired, the other considers the writings to be intellectually sound.
arniem: I would love to hear your responses to JanH's previous posts re: Biblical mathematical errors.

Hey aChristian:
(I assume that since you ... My point is that just because a certain type of behavior seems to come "natural" to animals, or even to people for that matter, does not make it right.
Ok, so your opinion is that it isn't right (because God said so). I would be very interested in hearing the opinion of someone who DOES have that extra Y chromosome(SP!) in their DNA comment on this issue.
