  JW Boyfriend is being brainwashed !

  my boyfriend and i live together and have been for about 3 years.. he wants me to convert, after research i will not.

  (i was raised bapstist) he hasnt went to the hall in two weeks, last nite he went because a "elder" called him, why did they have him in a meeting till.

  11 at nite, he came home and told me he confessed and he is in trouble.

  Your boyfriend is guilty of independent thinking.

  You are being blamed for the doubts he is starting to realize in his own mind by the elders. Soon you will be public enemy #1 in his own mind, if he takes these superstitions seriously. (You can't compete with one's perceived creator.)

  I wish you the best of luck, as your lives together are already being compromized, IMO. Those witnesses are playing on guilt and his natural fear of death just as a catholic or a protestant plays on guilt and fear of eternal burning.

  I'm sure others will be willing to offer some helpful advice for you if you are really "hung up" on your "lover". If I were in YOUR shoes though, I would *LEAVE* as it will save you and him BOTH the trouble.

  Just my .025 cents/pents worth.

  i was thinking of a relative on my mom's side of the family...... when i was a young girl, about 10 or 11, way to young to perceive 'alternate lifestyles,' we had an experience in family.. my mom's uncle (i'll call him jack, cause i can't remember his real name) came to my grandmother's house while we were visiting.

  this time he came dressed as a woman!.

  my aunt quickly ushered the children out of the room up the stairs.

  I guess the pain was just too much. Imagine that, he wasn't even JW and his life was negatively affected by JW judgementalism.

  Hmm... "Kiss my a** you pretensive psycho-bi***!!!" is something that comes to mind almost immediately as I imagine myself in a dress looking at my sister(s). (yuck, there goes my appetite, then again, I have no sexual "disposition" if you want to call it that).

  Sir, You will find that if you just openly admit that you are an idiot and quit running your mouth you might find life a bit more enjoyable. (trust me, I know from personal experience.)

  There's nothing worse than running around with the sense that you know your patoot from a hole in the ground then to later find out that you can't distinguish mountains from mole-hills. Might as well accept it now and go on with your life, rather than denying to yourself what you really are.

  perhaps it will allow for some creative thinking and interesting discussion or maybe it simply wont go anywhere.

  it does not really matter either way, for there are subjects which can only be speculated on and thoughts which can only be shared.

  As I said before, in western(mostly theist) terms, this means to us that anything and everything is God (since we rely on God for spiritual enlightment).

  
  And here it gets even worse. In orthodox theism of both Christianity, Islam and Judaism, it is precisely the point the the opposite is the case.

  I do not confuse THEISM and PANTHEISM. "this means to us" was in reference to Buddhism from a western point of view, although in reading the original post I can see where someone could misconstrue what I was trying to say. I've already apologized in the chatroom, your turn here.

  I'm sorry for calling you a liar for correctly reading an ill-composed post by yours truly.

  Thank you for clarifying that one statement was rubbish in the chat room instead of all of my ideas.

  Maybe the both of us can start acting like adults now.

  I was going to start knit-picking at you the way you are knit-picking at me. (Even though parts of your retort are taken out of context).

  Since I was also talking to someone else about a question that THEY had for ME, and you only came in on part of the discussion, I will DROP the subject, as both are arguing on false pretenses.

  NOTE: This means that you WON the argument that YOU started referring to a statement I made to someone else in context to a line of thought that never really got finished because of the argument that YOU started. I hope you enjoyed destroying the original discussion. (I note how flowerpetal could have corrected me if she felt I was in error).

  Perhaps the buddhist that apparently misinformed me did not know enough about their own religion, and they were a in form of buddhism that you say technically consider themselves an theistic religion. Who knows. Thank you for setting me straight on these matters though.

  BTW: The original "idea" I was discussing with flowerpetal has NOT changed from this "discussion", as your argument was out of context to the point of view I was trying to convey. If you apologize for calling my ideas "rubbish", I will apologize for calling you a slanderous liar for insulting me with knit-picky arguments based on YOUR assumptions of MY thought processes.

  Interesting how your way of thinking comes from a book open to interpretation. (If this were not so, then their would be no debates about the bible.)

  Also, if you were a homosexual who did not ask to be born with such "opposing tendancies" you would not have your biased point of view.
