I can't believe I miss mds.
thought you all would enjoy this.. i went to a b'day party for a friend who is a bible-thumper in the worst way!
(10x worse than most jw).. i'm sitting around like a zombie while everyone is talking about how "blessed" they are to "know christ" blah blah blah blah blah.. then my interest got peaked as one of the women started quoting scripture talking about how the reason her life is blessed is that her great great grandmother was a russian mennonite blah blah blah and the bible says that god will bless your offspring if you come to know him.
blah blah blah.. so i start asking a few well placed questions like "well what does that mean for the poor muslim sop whose great great grandmother was a muslim?

from time to time exjws may face the question of whether they should do anything to cause doubts in the minds of their jw family or friends.
many argue that these people are happier where they are, inside the organization, and that becoming an "apostate" would cause too many problems to them.
in other words, perhaps "ignorance is bliss.".

Thanks for sharing the article. Too bad some of us have to learn the hard way. If only we could 'turn back time'.
I'm going to show this article to a JW "friend" of mine and see how long it takes him to shove it back in my face.

yadirf:
That's a lie that you decided to drop into your story so as to plant into the minds of others as they read your story that ole Friday/yadirF is nothing but a no good rat. That tactic is common among those who are less than truthful and wish to ruin the reputation of others.
I haven't seen you do anything but run around screaming 'liar liar liar' and trying to police people's thought processes.
YOUR POSTS are why I personally have an extremely low opinion of you. Nothing more. Direct me to ONE POST you have made on this board that is positive. And when I say positive, I mean in the common sense of the word. Not some silly posts telling others that they can repent and return to the tower or else die.
NOTE:
Before you even think about it, I don't give a white rat's ass about any opinion you may have of me. Thank you.

as it was considered back in 1995 that due to not holding to the society's view of the literal generation of 1914,i had disasociated myself, now all jehovah,s witnesses dont believe this anymore, are they all appostate for rejecting this important truth, that i had apparently sinned so much in rejecting?????????
?
I have always thought that this was a poor cop-out.
"You can have your own thoughts as long as you tell noone or influence others".
So what happens when you feel you are LYING to someone else and telling them someting that you do not believe is true? You hold it in and fumigate over regurgitating falsehoods, or let it out and get booted. (There goes your friends and family). Making it MENTALLY UNHEALTHY to have your own thoughts contrary to the WT.
Seems Communist to me.

Tallyman:
I would have done the same thing if I were in your situation Tallyman. You are far stronger a man than I, though. If I were to kill my bi-polar brother, even in self-defense, I don't think I could handle the pressure of ending another human's life. I would probably end my own as well.
You're not as weak and frail as you think you are Tallyman. To have survived with wits intact for this amount of time shows strength of character and sheer will-power.
Thanks for sharing your story with us.
Your still ok with me man.

Of course, this is from a "worldy" point of view...
(you know, the world that you were born in, and will die and rot in)...
You could walk into the kingdom hall, pull down your pants and tell the elders there to "kiss this".
Don't worry about your family, because if they are true blue dubs then they will never have truly cared about you anyway! Just get on with your life! Or, excuse me, START your life.
(NOTE: The poster is not a trained counselor. All "advice" should be taken with a grain of salt.)

From h2o:
...that has nothing to do with my respect for Simon and his outstanding efforts at maintaining and running his site!
At least he gave him his props.
most of the stuff posted here is negative, hateful, and blasphemous against god.
even if many of you are right in saying that the jws are wrong on many and important issues, that does not make you right.
so unless you are convinced that there is no biblical god you are facing serious trouble when you die or if the lord comes during your lifetime.
Rex:
You need to talk to God_Knows. She knows your doctrine better than you do.
Oh sheesh! You evidently did not understand (nor do now) if you think the greek-influenced Arian view of the nature of God fits!
Oh yes. Here's another sad sapp who has it all right and everyone else is wrong.
Have you ever heard of the 'overall context'? That is why the explanation developed as it did, to take in ALL PERTINENT SCRIPTURE and not just one line exgesis.
Yes I have. And taking in the 'overall context' I would end up writing a 135 page thesis regarding the entire bible instead of a 1,245 page thesis trying to incorporate a pagan trinity.
Oh, but then again...
That's where baptisms originated from, didn't they?
Heresy is based in ignorance and misunderstanding
yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyep.
