So, what would happen if everyone in my genetically related family went vegan? I imagine most would lose weight. I think life expectancy would increase, especially for the men. I would hope that quality of life would improve too. Ultimately, though, people die.good point....I believe we just need to do what feels best to us & live as fully as possible, whatever that means to you. by the way, how was everybodys steaks and burgers and sauteed asparagus last night? My balsamic soaked portabella sandwish was OUTTA THIS World Yummy and I had asparagus from the grill for the first time. It was amazing too.

...New Study on Vegetarian`s...Not as Healthy as Some may Think...
by OUTLAW insydney (afp) - people who live on vegetarian diets have slightly weaker bones than their meat-eating counterparts, australian researchers said thursday.. a joint australian-vietnamese study of links between the bones and diet of more than 2,700 people found that vegetarians had bones five percent less dense than meat-eaters, said lead researcher tuan nguyen.. the issue was most pronounced in vegans, who excluded all animal products from their diet and whose bones were six percent weaker, nguyen said.. there was "practically no difference" between the bones of meat-eaters and ovolactovegetarians, who excluded meat and seafood but ate eggs and dairy products, he said.. "the results suggest that vegetarian diets, particularly vegan diets, are associated with lower bone mineral density," nguyen wrote in the study, which was published thursday in the american journal of clinical nutrition.
"but the magnitude of the association is clinically insignificant," he added.. nguyen, who is from sydney's garvan institute for medical research and collaborated on the project with the pham ngoc thach university of medicine in ho chi minh city, said the question of whether the lower density bones translated to increased fracture risk was yet to be answered.. "given the rising number of vegetarians, roughly five percent (of people) in western countries, and the widespread incidence of osteoporosis, the issue is worth resolving," he said.. .

Research can be exhausting
by homeschool in....and i can completely see why so many jw's take what is given to them as opposed to doing their research.
in the appendix on the book (pgs 195-197), it talks about how jesus' name can be pronounced in many different languages, just as our own names may be pronounced differently.
so why do the jw's go solely with the english proncunciation of "jehovah" universally, when really, they could have chosen just to go with yaweh from the get-go, since that is truly the closest to the original yhwh?.

hmmmm, lol. I'm wanting to go with option number two, although agnostic seems more my route. I do NOT believe the bible is the truth, but the people I'm trying to get out of the cult DO believe its the truth, so I need to pretend for awhile. Shamus, just as a sidenote ....how do you explain the prophecies made that came true? I tried doing some research on that topic yesterday and couldn't come up with anything satisfying. Do you believe they were written after the fact, although people say there's proof otherwise?

pigs are selfish, irritating, animals. The same could be said about some at the WT headquarters...why dont we save the pigs & wrap the WT leaders around asparagus and saute' with garlic and olive oil?
And, no Renny, I'm not seriously wanting to fry up real humans from the WT.
Alrighty, I'm going to a fantastic BBQ/Cookout to celebrate the 4th of July. Theres gonna be lots of healthy hamburger eaters and I'm making a grilled portobella sandwich with grilled asparagus & garlic. Mmmmmmm....and most importantly, I will be around really awesome people who know what Unconditional Love means .
Happy 4th!

Bacon-good....not gonna lie. the flavor of bacon has surely rocked my world in the past, and wrapped around a filet mignon made it even more titillating. The thought of having a pig in the line up to get slaughtered and having it know that it is about to be sliced up because of the murderous screams coming from just inside the slaughterhouse....Disssssss-gusting. Did you know that pigs are just as smart as dogs, if not smarter? I look at my 90lb doggies and picture them in a line-up to get slaughtered....that right there makes me not wanna eat a pig. I'm not trying to tell people not to eat meat. Whatever floats your boat, go for it. I'm just sayin... I'm not gonna do it anymore and I have extremely healthy bones and an even healthier spirit personally. And, no, I do not hug trees.

....and I can completely see why so many jw's take what is given to them as opposed to doing their research. My sister & I have started studying "What Does the Bible Really Teach" and I'm referencing and cross referencing and finding all sorts of stuff to confront her with in a nonconfrontational way, but its tiring! I really appreciate those who've already done their research & share it with us. I'm not taking their words for fact until I do futher research. Its neverending!

Do you realize that the milk companies are actually the ones who started the whole "milk is great for your bones" bs??...and that osteoporosis runs rampant among milk drinkers? I'm strong like ox and I don't need meat to accomplish that
I've got enough guilt (although most of it was imposed by the borg), and thinking about the "process" of getting bacon to my plate makes it not worth it for me to eat the bacon (or chicken or fish). And I am a former bacon-holic.
I think the whole point isnt vegetarian or non-veg....people need to quit eating so much processed crap and they will be healthier with stronger bones.

Name Things JWs Believe That Are Not Actually Biblically Provable
by minimus inhere's one example: being a congregation publisher.
nowhere in the bible does it say you should be a "publisher" and turn in your time if you preach.
they try to twist the scriptures by saying that numbers are constantly being recorded in the bible so then conforming to the rules of being a publisher is from the scriptures.. yeah, right..
