Would a JW possibly explain that Moses wrote the first five books in 3rd person? I asked who was writing in the mid-end of Exodus...Moses or Jehooba & my sister hasn't gotten back to me with an answer. If they believe that Moses wrote the first five books, then they'd HAVE to say he was writing in 3rd person, right?

Do JW's believe that Moses wrote the 1st five books?
by homeschool inwell, i'm a few chapters into who wrote the bible, by richard elliot friedman (thanks, primate, for the suggestion!
)...there's no way i could explain the book to you, but i can see exactly what it's saying.
the author really puts it in layman's terms to show how many people/men wrote the bible.

Have you read Stolen Innocence?
by homeschool inby elissa wall?
http://blogcritics.org/books/article/book-review-stolen-innocence-by-elissa/ when i read it, i was very tearful because i could associate a lot of her life with mine.
the flds church is much more strict than jw's, but reading the book made me see that jw's are not the only ones who believe certain things, like that they have the "truth", or the roles of women, or the way men make their own decisions and then claim it's from god.

Probably if I'd read the book you are referring to 1st, I'd be the same way. I guess Stolen Innocence is a lot lighter (although still pretty dark)...and she's even my 'friend' on My Space . Sorry, don't wanna be name dropping or anything

Are JW's the only ones imprisoned for their beliefs?
by homeschool ini'm sorry to gadget, who brought up a similar topic & it reminded me of something i was told 2 days ago.
is it true that jw's are the majority of people who are currently imprisoned for their beliefs?
can you give me examples if this is or is not the case?

hehe, yep, Blue...thats a great start. I get nervous because I don't want to seem over-ambitious on the matter, ya know? I guess it'll just have to take some control on my part.

She's got a very similar ending to most of us on jwn....she's happy, but unfortunately, her family is still very much "in" the faith. So its depressing, but I felt invigorated reading it

So how would I bring up the topic after the discussion's already taken place? I didn't know very much about it when it was brought up in conversation, so I just listened a lot
