hey there....i'm taking a leap here.

i really enjoy reading all the threads on here and think you're swell folks.

but with all the anonymity, its still kinda lonely to not "know" who you are.

it hit me the other day, when i was contemplating life....i was a jw for twenty years and i was trained to second guess myself.

all the time.

no matter what i did, i needed to re-think.

is it really worth trying to change their minds?

after reading steven hassan's book, i really believe the jw's are in a high mind control group, like so many other cult-like religions.

one point stuck out to me though....hassan said he will not do interventions if the purpose is selfishly motivated.

i don't know why, but it's made me question some things.

ok, so i'm over halfway through with this book on combatting cult mind control.

does the dude ever mention jw's (besides one page in the bibliography at the end)?

if not, would there be a way to get a jw to read the book, maybe pointing fingers at some other cult religion so you dont appear to be talking about the witnesses?

man....my older sis came over to help me out with an apron i'm trying to sew.

i told her i was gonna set her up a facebook account and she freaked out on me!

almost like an anxiety attack.

did "true christians" make mistakes in the bible?

an elder met with my husband a few nights ago.

i was working but my hubby recorded the whole thing.

one thing that is totally stuck in my brain is talk about the "new light" and how things get brighter and can be clarified easier.

I'm making an anniversary gift & it makes me sad

it's my sister's 10th anniversary this friday, and i got all gung ho with making a cd with baby pics through wedding day for both she and her husband.

but as i was getting finished making it, a flood of memories came back as to how i was not only not in my big sister's wedding, but i was barely even invited because i was having jw doubts at the time.

grrrrrrr, kinda left me in a sad mood..... i get so angry at the borg for making both my sisters exclude me from their weddings .

my husband is getting called on by an elder I hate

my husband was not going to go to the memorial, but then his sister started bullying him via texts...saying that he needed to reconsider his decision not to go.

i work on saturdays usually, and was not home yesterday when an elder (who tried to pursuade my husband to quit dating me a year and a half ago) dropped by to tell him how great it was to see him at the memorial.

hubby is inactive and does not believe the jw's anymore (i'm 99% sure).

when i was 15 or 16 i had to do a part with my best friend about masturbation and why it was wrong.

omg when we were practicing in the back room, we kept giggling.

and then, of course, when the time came and we were up there on stage, we both remembered the parts that we were giggling about in back and started giggling all over again!
