Guy's, you're all missing the point.......Jehovah used miracles for everything. The reason why the book of Genesis doesn't talk about any of these miracles (other than God made it rain for 40 days & 40 nights) is that he used so many of them. If all were documented, Genesis would have had 987 chapters!!!
You know I'm joking, right?
But the simple truth of the matter is that what I stated above is exactly what people infected with Reniaalogicitis will say.
As Java so neatly put, "2 + 2 = 7 because the Bible tells me so".

Can i file a law suit against the WTS?
by God_Delusion ini had a brief chat with my lawyer last week and discussed religion as i always do with him (he's an atheist).
he asked how the jw's were doing and so i told him that i no longer go and that i to am an athiest (well, not entirely an atheist as i do believe that there may be some other forces out there somewhere and will believe that until it has been proved otherwise).
he was very pleased to hear this.. anyway, i asked him if it would be possible to file a law suit against the wts?.

It would be a different scenario if a foundation sued the borg.
If it were possible to find at least 1,000 plaintiffs, which all donated money to the cause, I am pretty sure there could be a resolution within our lifetime.

WTS causing more anguish
by GapingMouth ini don't really know where to start on my first post; i feel i have so much to say and yet i am so emotionally tired that it is hard to go through it all again in my head.
but, i do need support and advice and so i will make the effort.. i started having doubts about certain beliefs of the witnesses about 2 years ago and did research since that i now come to the belief there is no god, and witnesses definitely are a cult.. at first it bothered me more on the god issue, but now i am more bothered by the cult issue, mainly because it dictates my life even though i am aware of it.. when i was a child, my mother and father divorced and my mother told me i will live with my father because she was going to die at armageddon being a non witness.
i think, as well as many other pressures i cant list for fear of a very long post, this was the main pressure that made me get baptized even though i wasn't that happy being a witness.

I just ran it past my wife about the girl.......her sister leeanne hughes was friendly with the girl that died in the crash.....I didn't know them..... - Ninja
Her name was Melanie. She was a dear friend. She was planning her marriage when she died in 1998. That was the first time someone close to me has died. It was devastating.
Even though her parents grieved her death, some close family members weren't too sad as they said that they would see her again during the resurrection.
The GB has even gone as far as stopping its members from grieving properly.
Damn them.

I am actually not bothered if I get df'd or not. I am bothered by the fact that the organisation openly instructs its members to stop communicating with you. That can't be right, can it?
Well no, I don't have any funds in which to sue. It could be a good idea to create a foundation that can act on all that have been df'd. A small donation, maybe $5.00 from 40% that have been df'd in the past 3 years could be enough to take them on.
Wishful thinking I suppose.

Questioning me as an apostate
by God_Delusion ini am an active jw.
i was born in the "truth" (i really feel uncomfortable calling it that) and am now married to a witness.. for a year now, i have actually come to see that the gb are just business-psychologists.
anyone who views jehovah's witnesses as a religion and not a cult, really needs to evaluate their way of thinking and they also need to look up the definition of the word "cult".. anyway, my parents recently came over on holiday (they live in another country and are also residents of bethel).

Cheers Flipper for clarifying my point. I only posted the above comment as Reniaa reminds me of a lot of single jw's that will try anything to get a man.
My point wasn't about the flood, but how even after I had shown a small amount of evidence in relation to showing the elders that they were wrong, they took off their logic hats and downed a pint of Reniaalogicitis.
Also, in relation to what Booby said about my Manson rant; Booby was right, but I mentioned it in a dual capacity. The other being that Manson finds himself in prison for asking others to commit murder. Don't the GB do the same when they ask parents to let their children die instead of taking a blood transfusion?
I think so.

The bible only describes what happens not how God did it. - Quote from Reniaa
There are a fair few things I could say to you right now, but I wouldn't want to as you'll just have an answer for them anyway, won't you?
Anyway let's recap your above comment. "The bible only describes what happens not how God did it". You see, it's reasoning like that that made me wake up and take the red pill. I'm being really serious to. If the elders took a different stance than the one you continually take, I may still have worshipped a racist, sexist, genocidal maniac and would have probably been top brass with this cult.
So thank you, thank you for blessing people with RL (Reniaalogicitis), for without it, I and many like me would have remain in darkness!
Okay, rant over...
Read the account again Reniaa. I am pretty sure the bible fully explains every little detail about the ark, including the ages, the type of building materials used, the dimensions, etc..
So yes, the bible does describe how certain things happened.
Oh, and explain how each of the gospels have different endings? It's like the director wanted to sell multiple DVD's and ran 4 different endings.
Reniaa, I feel for you because the cure to Reniaalogicitis is very rare, although most on this forum have had their dose and have made a speedy recovery. Let's pray (not to the mass-murdering monster Jehovah) that you to find the cure.

He asked in what way and why?
I explained to him that sooner or later, I would get df'd and that I would then be shunned by everyone. He became outraged at this. I told him that the WTS is a charity in the country in which I live. He told me he would look into this but told me that as far as he knows, no charity can ask its members to stop talking to another ex-member.
I told him that they've even put it in writing in their own literature. He was quite upset at hearing this.
This could be really interesting!
