okay, i am in a bit of a dilemma.

since i believe in honesty between marriage mates, i have been telling my wife about this board and my participation on it.

i feel it is only right so that she won't feel like i have anything to hide.

Since you're not a JW you aren't under any obligation to listen to wts leaders as to view EX-JW as evil! Second, for her to tell you that:

That's a total lie but she just doesn't get it since she's under wts influence! Everytime she goes to wts meetings she goes to a group of people who bad mouth your and everyone else's religion or church however you look at it! When did wts ever say that some religion has some mistaken beliefs but are alright with God and the people will be saved? WTS says that everyone outside WTS will die at armageddon since God doesn't view others are being true Christians. You can ask her what the difference is between you coming here and her going to the meetings? Plus ask her what lies about WTS have you told her? As long as you baack everything you say about wts with their own publications she can't really say much. My wife still goes to the dubland but I'm sure she knows that they aren't the truth but I think she's scared to admit it. Some people don't want the truth as long as they're happy that's all they care about.

wts like all other bs religions tell their people what they want their people to hear. Any stories that may embaress wts are kept out and anything that can be twisted to the point of showing God's hand in action are put in with major stretching of truth but that's wts specialty since they are a publishing house they know what kind of fiction people love to read. BS sells and wts is a master at apreading BS.

UN scandal

lately i did a lot of reading regarding the un scandal, the org being a ngo for 10 years.

i tried to read both sides, the comments on jwfacts.com, as well as the defense at jehovahsjudgment.co.uk.. and then the endless discussion on topix.com between thirdwitness and alanf and others.. while i am sure, the way the org handled the whole situation, especially after the article in the guardian, was plain wrong, instead of openly confessing a mistake, it was done secretely and only after inquiry, and made it look like a cover-up.. .

however, considering the whole issue, i think it comes down to one question:.

I never found UN scandel big enough to make me leave wts since there are bigger issues with wts. But as for that, it's basically what they've done after being exposed that should any thinking person realize they are a decietful man run organization. Library card story might sell with some brain dead people out there but it sure doesn't make sense! For an org the size of wts and all its lawyers it's amazing they never realized that NGO was supportive of UN's charter and for them to resign right after the Guardian released their article is pure hypocracy to tell their flock that tthe resigned because they realized that NGO was tied to UN! So why are foreign branches still NGOs while Brooklyn branch isn't? Why did they stop if it wasn't to make it look like they made a mistake? WTS does what they want as long as they're not found out and who knows how many other things they hide and how much other dirt will surface with time for all to see, the UN was just one small scandel out of many that they've covered up, personally 607/1874/1914 is a way bigger scandel that should be make any jw think twice about wts as God's channel of communication not something like NGO. Malawi/Mexico is way bigger scandel, even 1975 is more significant IMO.

i missed this point the first time i read ray franz's book " crisis of conscience " 3 years ago.

but it leaped off the page at me the second time around reading it this time.

on page 28 in discussing how secretive the gb meetings are and only rarely will an outsider be let in to gb meetings to give a report- then were sent away out of the room so the gb could continue meeting in secret.. franz in discussing financial issues states on pg.

The GB president probably has some idea, I don't understand how educated lawyers serve wts for free knowing about false dates and flip flops and evil done by wts? Can educated lawyers be that brain dead that they can't put together the reality of this religion? Or is this whole organization divided into so many pieces that each section is run by it's own group that there is too many for others to figure out? It would be nice to see some sort of audit done on wts and release of all wts sister corporation and branch names. I wonder if gifts to wts are held under wts of NY or Pensylvenia or under a seperate entity like a holding corp. similar to what Russall had established in his day.

btw: Does anyone have the documents for UK finances that expatbrit revealed 8 years ago? If so can you post it? thanks

The real harm done by the WTBTS

when i first realized that the wtbts was not teaching the truth, i thought "well, they are basically good people and teaching some morals, so what real harm is there?"..

then i started looking at the opportunity cost.

by this i mean all the things that a jw does not have access to if they believe the wtbts nonsense.

are subscriptions still available to the mags?.

i don't see why wts wouldn't want to disclose jw info to the agency in question but deal as mediatory body between the two?

Another letter concerning same matter another bit of interest was that jw should also contact wts with names of deseased non-jw relatives to wts(par.4).

If wts didn't disclose the names or addresses to the agency could they have added some extra names or number of victims to obtain great cash payout? Doesn't sound likely but it's strange the procedure they decided upon. Plus they will distribute the payout? hmm How fairly would that distribution be by this self anointed body be?
