  the way crisis of conscience lays it out, despite their reservations on doctrine, ray franz and ed dunlap would have been more than happy to live out their lives within the jw ranks without causing any disturbance.

  ray was contemplating resigning from the gb and living out his life quietly somewhere outside bethel.

  ed preferred to remain in bethel due to his advanced age.

  COC dealt with much more than just GB meetings.

  Is GB more worried about what one man says about their secret meetings or flood of evidence presented about their scandels and doctrinal changes? Much of the book deals with doctrine and history and how it afected Ray and few others which is a stronger part of the book IMO than GB meetings, wouldn't you say? But most of that historical evidence can be researched outside of the book which is what I meant and not that I implying there was nothing new to be found in Ray's book.

  COC is a great book but it doesn't reveal that much new material that you couldn't find outside of it. After a bit of research it doesn't take a genius to see that GB isn't inspired by anything other than their combined uneducated dumbness. The GB like other cult leaders are after total control and obediance from each other and their flock. Any one questioning them will be the target and that was Ray's and others outcome. They feel too high and mighty to reason that their actions may bite them in the ass later. After all, 1975 BS blew up in their faces but the cult didn't fall apart and the blame went on suckers who put trust in the leaders while the leaders were free of any guilt - surely that helped their ego that they could push out even one of their own without feeling threatened.

  Was the policy change to equate DA to DF because of Ray?

  as ray says in the last chapter of coc, before 1981 da was quite different from df.

  "persons who resigned were not treated the same as those disfellowshiped", they were not shunned for example, except when the dad person enters into politics or military.. i put it on account of humbleness that ray says he doesn't think they changed the policy just to use it against him, he probably feels he wasn't so significant as to warrant such a far-reaching change.

  but it seems way too convenient that the policy change came at that exact time, too much of a coincidence.

  I totally believe the useless human scum in Brooklyn created the policy to get Ray - not that wouldn't have done this later but at the time it was an easy way for them to get him. Ray is too nice to say anything bad about the human filth that is GB of JWs.

  One and only thing that puzzles me about Ray's story is why did they send him $10,000 for? That to me makes no sense at all, as they wanted to get rid of him and later they did that through the policy change. Obviously they didn't give a rat's ass about him so why send him 10k? Was it scummy Freddy who found some compassion for his nephew? Was it done by one them without others knowing?

  is the name jehovah as gods name without dispute?

  has the wtbs ever addmitted any where that gods name is not actauly known?.

  Another thing to rember is that J is pronounced Y in english in many foreign languages so just because English Jehovah is pronounced as such it doesn't make it wrong since it's English translation, even though people like to argue it. Johannes Bach would be pronounced Yohanes but if he moved to States people most likely call him John instead unless he was anul about it and requested to be called Yohannes as an example. I don't get why people get so anul about pronouncing the name Jehovah instead of Yahweh, IMO it has the assosiation with wts rather than just being used a God's name in the bible. Yahweh doesn't even sound English.

  i don't know if any one posted this.

  but the four killed were in field service on a sat morning.

  there was no way they were driving this fast on a dead end road in a residential neighbrohood.

  Where is the best place in the world to live?

  could be just a whim, but highdoses feet are feeling itchy today.

  i'm young, unattached was thinking about upping sticks again maybe.. .

  Best place in Canada I would say Kelowna, I simply love it! Totally awsome. Weather is mild in the winter and hot in the summer and not humid, not wet like Vancouver or the island, friendly people, has a large, clean, and warm lake and mountains all around. All activities are here from mountain activities to water sports, not too big and not too small.

  In US I would say along the west coast.

  I loved Vienna but Greek Islands were awsome as well and A LOT of fun!!! Vienna must be one of the cleanest places that I've seen with a lot of history, museums and art galaries. Greece is different but I could see myself living on some of their islands as life seems very relaxed and weather is amazing with their deep blue skies.

  JWs growing in numbers despite opposition and criticism from apostates and other religious commentators. Why?

  i believe there are now over 7 million jws worldwide(correct me if i am wrong).

  what makes this growth possible despite all the exposure on the internet and other media?.

  not forgetting court cases and lawsuits.. is this not a sign that perhaps this is the true religion?.

  I would be surprised if there was no growth at this time. IMO wts is going to peak within the next 10 years but most likely within next 5. My reasons are simple theory that hard times drive more people to believe the end is imminent. After all, aren't all the signs here? US in bankrupt and as people were looking to Europe with it's mighty Euro as another possible alternative, the Europe proved to be burning as Greece is the first of the group to show it's weakness with Spain, Portugal and Italy close behind - mind you this is nothing when compared to Calfornia or Florida.... Anyways, IMO the crisis that started in '08 is nowhere near the end but has experiences mass stimulas in '09 which caused the markets to rally while not much jobs have been created. People lossing jobs, uncertainty and poverty help cults like wts to recruit people that are at their end and who believe the story that God's kingdom must be near especially since Jesus returned in 1914 :) IF the global situation does deteriorate as I think it will in the next several years, I'm guessing more DFed will return and more suckers will join expecting an imminent Armageddon. But I'm guessing this peak will roll over with many people getting disillusioned with wts and finally leaving in droves as their imminent end turns to no event. Only then do I see some sort of internal crisis, either break up in to 2 or more sects or some sort of major changes that will see many leave the cult such as elimination of 1914 or change of 1914 to some other date.

  Did the Governing Body pull a "Moses" and not get reprimanded?

  as most of us know, the story of why moses did not get to enter the promise land is as follows:.

  the iraelites were b*itching again about not having enough water so moses took them to a seemingly dry place and cracked a large rock like thing and water started to come out; he took 100% credit for the miracle.

  because of this deceit moses was severely punished.

  GB are a fraud from the start. From Russell to Rutherford all the way to today their BS gets bigger and bigger by each passing year. New light on the generation is just the latest interpretation that's totally crazy but as long as there is enough dumb down people out there that won't question them they will continue to hold power over the masses.
