IF you are viewed as an apostate and are being shunned why would you hire a witness and help them make a living? I sure wouldn't.

What will they do with the money? Where will it end up? If they can cash out of NY they aren't putting that money into helping congregations of missionaries so where is it going? Are they going to buy more farm land for future use? Investing is not what it use to be and holding it in the bank is even less rewarding. Too bad these articles don't reveal more about wts' ways. Those collection boxes sit around the building but when they aren't being filled as required witnesses hear about it as local needs program stresses that God loves a cheerful giver so.....Don't you want God's love?.... I wonder how they will affect the small towns where they're moving to when they don't pay taxes - sending slaves to clean streets just isn't the same as when they would have to pay taxes to the city.

Gentile Times Revisited is an excellent book! There is no way 607BC is the date for destruction of Jerusalem or the temple. All the evidence that Jonsson provides in the book is enough for anyone with a brain to see that WTS is lying through their dentures. These old farts seen Jonsson's research and looked the other way which makes them either a bunch of liars which I think is the case OR they are so delusional and stupid that they believe their own story that 607BC has to be true.
WTS never showed proof for 607 but always tries to dismiss facts or/and put doubt in minds of their followers when it comes to historical evidence. They downplay the mountain of evidence supporting 586/7 date. Their logic is twisted that it's not even funny but very sad for anyone who believes their deception. The historical findings prove beyond a doubt that it wasn't 607 especially when one reads the evidence brought out by lunar eclipses which Babylonians described with details attributed to their king's reign. These various eclipses can be pin pointed to certin years by todays astronomers which agrees with historians when it comes to Babylonian chronology but were these dates moved by 20 years as WTS would like, these eclipses would not have been possible. Also WTS tried to say that Babylonian priests may have omitted events that may have been imberassing to them which may account for 20 years where they misquote authors (would have to look up for names) who were reffering to Assyrians and not Babylonian priests and scribes.
607 is only important for us, EXJW and JWS or should be important for any thinking witness since their entire fictional religion is build upon this fictional date. One can use this date to reason with dubs (using present troof) that if 607 is wrong then 1914 is wrong and this makes it difficult for FDS to have been appointed in 1919 since Christ never returned invisibly thus making their leaders decievers and liars. And if GB are a fraud, shouldn't dubs look deeper as to what else they are taught that is wrong?

Possible Blood Doctrine Change: A Hypothetical Conversation with all JWs

The only way I can see them doing drastic changes is to purge those on the fence to make it easier for new ones to come in. If they can calculate that the new ones will offset the ones leaving then it may be in their best interest financially to change blood doctrine as well as get rid of 607/1914. If they loose 20% and downsize, sell KHs collect the cash and start growing with new ones not knowing the past it may be a benefit in a long term but internet will always be a thorn in their side. At present, I will believe it when I see it but I don't think at present dubs are ready for blood policy change.

Response to the Argument that Jehovah's Witnesses are not Cult Members
by bluecanary inthis is in response to the ezine article the argument that jehovah's witnesses are not cult members:.
this article is dangerously misinformed about (a) what constitutes a cult and (b) that the jws do in fact fit this category.
there is ample evidence of mind control, manipulation and cult tactics in this group, but you will not see it by casually chatting with a witness.

Article is full of half truths and lies. If one cannot question the leader(s) of one's religous order without a fear of retribution that one is in a CULT. It's that simple. Just because someone hides behind the bible that doesn't mean shit.

sd-7:
You might enjoy reading Gentile Times Revisited by Carl Olof Jonsson. I like that book on par with Ray Franz's COC.
When and if you talk to any of your jw family ask them to prove to you 607BC. Let them do the work. All that wts does is it tries to downplay the evidence and they try to put doubts in evidence out there while never showing any sort of proof for 607 other than 537+70=607. If I ever get a chance to talk to dubs, that's all I bring up since the way I see it is if 607 is wrong, then 1914 is wrong which means Christ never came for inspection in 1918 and never chose FDS in 1919 thus GB are a fraud :) And putting your spiritual health in the hands of fraudsters is dangerous especially fraudsters whom you can't openly question. After reading the book you will have enough evidence against any 607 nonsense.
Your father sounds like a normal guy, try getting closer to him and maybe talk to him more outside of your jw circle where your father may take interest in what he hears from you and approach the rest of the family from his point of view which may open their eyes with time. Hope you all the best but healing takes time and the beginning is always the most painful.

Regarding the Mexico Situation
by superpunk ini have an e-friend who is trying to leave quietly, but his wife is still buying the wts explanations.
he asked me this earlier today, wondering if anyone here has heard this chestnut, and if they'd be able to clarify.
thanks in advance;.

Maybe he should ask his wife why wts didn't register as a religion until 1989(?) ? Mexican constitution of 1917 allowed all kinds of religions and cults to exist with the exception of owning property. So why was wts so afraid to be registered as a religion during all those decades? They are not for profit, right? :) It shouldn't matter if property wasn't under wts name if that was the case.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_Constitution_of_the_United_Mexican_States
see article 24.
So Mexican witnesses were pretending to be a culturl organization while knowing they were a religious order. Isn't that lying by the wts since they fight throughout the world to be recognized as a religion and yet in Mexico they could have had been registered for decades and they chose not to?
Now, I didn't understand what your friend meant about apostates in HQ mistranslating for Mexican witnesses? Can you explain? What exactly is your friend refering to in that statement? IF these elders were implying that Ray OK'd Mexicans to bribe the officials in Mexico can they show some proof that it was Ray? Otherwise they are speaking out of their ass. They are slandering Ray Franz as is typical of wts - when wts doesn't have proof they try to discredit the source or put blame on someone other than themselves. Maybe these elders can tell your friend's wife when did the bribary in Mexico begin taking place? Since the Military Cartilla originated sometime around WW2 (someone might have more details on this) which would mean that witnesses would have been practicing bribary for some time even prior to Ray entering WTS HQ.
Tell your friend to always ask for proof as word of mouth isn't proof of anything. If those elders have some sort of proof they should show it or shut the f up and stop slandering a man who they know nothing about.

Maybe you should listen to a little bit of Slayer to keep your mind on satan delusion :) lol
Honestly, you either need professional help or you're a troll here. Who speaks of the devil being everywhere and satanism cults? Paranoia is linked with schizophrenia which is maybe what you're experiencing if you're not here trying to get some sort of attention. I read (your first post) that you said you passed out at a concert due to pot, which is highly unlikely unless you had some other drugs but pot can mask schizophrenia for a time which may appear in behaviour at later stages of life. Seeing ghosts and hearing voices has much to do with schizophrenia and paranoia is a major sign of the illness. Your paranoia is a good sign that you have some sort of a problem and you should get that checked out.

Not sure if anyone asked this but is your friend baptized? If she's not, she can continue the routine as she lives under her parents' roof without getting baptized and work towards going to school and getting the best education she can so that when she leaves home she will do well in life. She should never get baptized and the parents will never shun her but be just disappointed which I'm sure she can live with that. If she's baptized she should play the game as long as possible until she can get to out in the most favorable time for her, even though she may have to cope with wts life for the time being. At 14 it would be hard for her to leave and make it on her own - not that it's impossible but hard. As a child she has a better chance to get to her parents' heart by asking proper questions. She may even be able to get her parents do some real research and see that wts is a fraud.
