My husband is a hardworking PA and I have to say that this idea that there are cures out there that health care workers and pharmaceutical companies don't want the people to know about is absolutely ludicrous. All the folks I know in medicine hate these diseases and would love to see proven cures for all of them!

Curing Cancer With Baking Soda
by Tired of the Hypocrisy inhey gang, i got a link from a buddy of mine on how cancer can be fought off with baking soda.
i read the article and while i can't prove or disprove the claims, it seems like some reasonable information and it sure can't hurt to try it.
thought i'd share it with you all.. http://www.bamboo-delight.com/download/cure_cancer_with_baking_soda.htm.

Swine Flu in California?
by sammielee24 ini know there was a lot of fear around the swine flu if it was able to spread human to human..it seems that this article is confirming that it has.
has anyone got a flu shot for it?
the patient's mother had respiratory symptoms without fever in the first few days of april 2009, and a brother aged 8 years had a respiratory illness 2 weeks before illness onset in the patient and had a second illness with cough, fever, and rhinorrhea on april 11, 2009.. .

I remember the swine flu scare in the 70s when they did a mass innoculation drive. I dutifully lined up for my shot and had a horrendous reaction to it. I spent three days in an incoherent, feverish misery. Then they determined there was something wrong with the vaccine and stopped the shots. I had all but forgotten about it.

should Elders be held resposible......................
by KAYTEE inshould elders be held financially responsible for actions and decisions that they get wrong?
in my very last congregation we needed some form of heating, in the body of elders there was no air condition expertise at all.. this did not stop them buying a 3,500 unit for this purpose, there was at the time two refrigeration engineers in the hall (myself and another), we were not approached for our input into this purchase.. the outcome was as usual a complete white elephant, it did not work.
3,500 pounds lost.

Here in the states, the leaders of non-profits have a fiduciary responsibility to make sound financial decisions, since they are spending money that does not belong to them. Not sure if this principle would apply in this case, but it might.

Is WTS Behind Stalking, Espisonage and Harrassment of Ex-JWs?
by Scott77 inseveral ex-elders, bethelites, ministerial servants, the rank and files of ex-jws on this site are writing about being stalked, harrassed, having their homes peeped through, car broken into while others such as gubberningbody, reports of recieving unsolicited calls from kh elders from another congregation.
the numerous stories are very troubling.
although some members have denied this existance of this lllegal activity, the underlying question continues to puzzle our minds: is wts behind stalking, espisonage and harrassment of ex-jws?

Steve2, is it really paranoia when people are actually followed and monitored? There have been too many credible reports of this type of activity to simply brush it off as "juvenile allegations." In fairness, this doesn't happen in all congregations, but it does happen. As for the law, remember this is the same group that has intimidated others into not reporting cases of child sexual abuse, so it is not much of a stretch to understand that many would not want to risk the ire of the JC by reporting these shenanigans to the police.

Scott, nothing would surprise me. When my JW brother had enough of his sorry excuse for a wife and left, he knew there was no way for him to leave with dignity. He left anyway, and moved away to another part of the state. I was still and uber JW at the time and was sad to see this happen, although I had to admit the wife was pitiful.
Anyway, years later I learned that an elder who had been one of my friends in that part of the state actually participated with others in staking out my brother's home in order to gather evidence against him for fornication. (He was renting a room from a woman at the time) Whether this was an illicit relationship is not the issue here. The idea of these characters sitting outside his home in the middle of the night so they could "catch him the the act," is pretty far out. The elders seem to think they qualify as police, undercover cops, therapists, confessors, financial advisers and anything else that will give them more control over the "flock." Pretty incredible.

Bless you Mr. Flipper for trying to raise awareness of this problem. Maybe you will get one person to at least read the info. Most will probably discard it and attribute it to the "Evil Slave," but as you said, you never know. Even with the internet, we can't assume how much people know about what is going on. I have been out for nearly 20 years now and I continue to find out about things on these forums that I had no clue about when I was active. I strictly followed the counsel to not listen to dissenting voices or read apostate stuff.

This is one of the things that always bothered me when I was in. Other churches and charitable groups come in and help everyone without regard to their affiliations. The JWs come in and make it a point to help out only their own members. I find this disgusting coming from an organization that claims to be God's representatives on earth. Grrr...
