Gorbatchov that was said to my father in his home as my mother lay dieing. Sickening idiots. actually it was counseling him as to how he could get in his hours instead of attending to my mother and his grief. Either way they are idiots.

Heck, if it was me in your situation, I would give them an earful from the platform and let them escort me out. Have a happy life whatever method you choose.

Personally I would hate to see this become the norm. The reason being that it could possibly make the religion more tolerable and make those getting sick and tired of it be able to stick it out just for a little bit of occasional fun. To me the stricter they are the better. At least the younger ones will be more likely to get fed up with the rigid rules.

Frazzled I doubt JW upbringing would make women more vulnerable. I think it is already there. I left at age 24. And never took crap from any man. On the same token I was always the type that if I was told I HAD to do something I would go out of my way NOT to do it, even if I knew I should.

My personal feeling was simply to instill fear to exact obedience to whatever authority was in charge at any given time.,

I was "totally" stopped in my tracks by an "atheist" comment.
by booker-t ini must admit i can at times be a little "egotistical" when it comes to knowledge and the bible.
i have studied the bible for so long and have always had a passion for the bible as a jw and as an ex-jw.
i guess that is all i have left when it comes to religion and as humans we do tend to stroke our egos.

I think it is ridiculous just from the standpoint of "What was the point?" He cleansed the earth?...well it is all screwed up again. And talk about genetics?....Now all that's left is daddy, mom, and the kids! And yes what a hideous being that god is! Pure evil.

My wife is never going to wake up.
by marriedtoajw inwhat do you do when you believe in your heart that your spouse is never going to wake up to the tatt?
when you're sick of the cherade of pretending you can deal with the spiritual division when you dont think you can anymore.
when you're convinced that your spouse is so decieved she is lost in a desert and is fine with living by the mirage.

I agree with what The Scotsman is saying. When you get to the point you are DONE, feel you have tried everything, then just lovingly sit your wife down and spill your guts. Tell her everything that bothers you about what goes on in the "organization" and let the chips fall where they may. Who knows when you lay it all out she may actually agree with you. But I think then if the marriage falls apart it will be more her decision not yours and it should make it a little easier to deal with rather than you just walking out.
