Tech49 has the CO over for lunch
by Tech49 inso awhile back, during our last circuit overseer visit, vic and i decided to bite the bullet.... there seemed to be very little support for the mid-week lunch plans for the co and his wife, so we signed up to host.
we definitely didnt want it to be awkward, so we invited a few others along, as a nice little group affair.
they were excited, and offered to do the cooking, so i said i would play along.. just some background.... this particular co is kind of a tool (big surprise right?

Help me...!
by OneDayillBeFree inlost my job, just a week before making the final arrangements to move into my very own apartment.. got a speeding ticket on the following sunday for trying to make it to the meeting "on time", (never made it to the hall, just parked in the back of a shopping center for 2 hours in silence).. marked by the elders for quitting pioneering, no more commenting and "failing to adhere to bible counsel".. jw family sees me as a disappointment.
non-jw family is too far away to care.. found out ex-girlfriend got df'ed and is now pregnant.
puts some of the blame on me for how things turned out.. realizing that she's not entirely wrong as i was still an ignorant, kiss-ass, die hard jwdub when we started dating, always putting the "kingdom interests first" never having time for her since "the end was so freaking close" and then warping her up in the mess of me learning ttatt.. dwelling night after night in "what could have been" if i had never been a jw.. alternating between being a theist, atheist and agnostic on a daily basis to the point where i don't care anymore yet getting creeped the f*ck out when facing my own mortality and the thought of me dying alone.. always coming to the same conclusion, when i find myself alone on friday nights and weekends, that i have no actual friends, only two conditional jw "friends" which are both currently out of town for about a month and 0 real, non-jw friends.. haven't been able to sleep well in literally weeks now.

What a week huh? First thing I would do is stop breaking your neck trying to get to the meetings on time. Either don't bother going or get there when you can.
I don't know what constitutes your life savings but if it is enough to cover everything for say six months, I would go ahead and get the apartment and get out there and get a job. Then after you get a job, join a gym or a book club or do some volunteer work where you can start meeting some real people and make new friends. Friends that won't judge you by whether you got to the meeting on time or not.
Take a deep breath because, yes, tomorrow will be a better day if you look at your future in a more positive light.

Here is my take. It looked as though the mom had been crying, the kids were all quiet. I suspect the father indeed said he wasn't going to work that night or the next or the next but an arguement insued which would explain the teary eyes and the quiet kids. Hopefully Mr. Irresponsible will find another job soon because you can almost bet they don't have six months of bill payment saved up.

Thinking of having revenge on the jw girl
by spirituk inhello again, following my story with this girl , and after she blocked me on fb and not answering my phone calls since december , i am now thinking of taking revenge.my feelings of pain are starting to become hate ,and pain always is accompanied by the feeling of revenge to satisfy this bad feeling.i just cant simply forget what shes done to me.
the reasons of my revenge :.
1.she played with my feelings when she knew from the start that she would leave me one day.

Move on. You sound like you are setting yourself up to be aressted for stalking. The best revenge is to find someone new and have a hapy life. Some people revel in thinking someone is miserably pining after them. Don't give her the satisfaction of thinking you even care.

Yet another "Shunning is good for you, honest!" quote in the June 15th 2013 Watchtower
by cedars inhi folks.
that's right, the new june 15th 2013 study edition is out now on this link.... http://download.jw.org/files/media_magazines/28/w_e_20130615.pdf.
the following quote caught my eye, from the final study article on page 28.... .

This all makes me very nervous. My mother died two months ago so now I need to be keeping an eye on my dad. I hope he doesn't get "encouraged" to start this shunning crap again. He and my mother attempted to shun me several years back and couldn't. One of the points I made to my mother was that I absolutely could go back to the meetings but I would be a hypocrit and god would still kill me so what was the point. As I have said before I have been very fortunate in that my parents seemed a little lax on some of the teachings. I will be waiting and watching for the next few months. Hopefully he won't read that artical too closely.

When I was a kid you can bet I wouldn't have been allowed to be eating anything while at the door. Time and place for everything.
What a bummer of a life that was. Anyway that kid is probably getting crumbs all over the porch which is going to attract bugs. What an annoyance
witnesses can be.

My ex once told me he went to Jackie Gleasons house. Don't know if it was true or if there was anyone who came to the door.

If you ask southerners, 98% will say "Tide". Funniest thing, but true in my experience.

Young people; Please take heed
by wasblind inwhile in the prime of your life, the wts will encourage you to " put the kingdom first " .. for the wts that mean nothin else after.
the young are encouraged to not further thier education or get a fulltime job.
but make the ministry their fulltime occupation.

Man.....I read this stuff and all I can think is how fortunate for my parents that they didn't adhere to those ideas. My dad worked hard all his life and tho' they didn't encourage a college education they did suggest vocational school for all of their children. My brother actually got a teaching degree although he did it on his own they allowed him to live at home thru most of his college years. My mother just died and I know that they have a good sum of money saved and have a home that they most certainly are not leaving to the "society". I wonder why they were so different than so many of the stories I read on here. I am disfellowshipped as is my sister and they didn't shun us nor did the people at the hall during my mothers memorial service a week ago. Maybe they figured if they were nice I would come back. Doubtful that will happen since it has been the better part of 40 years that I have been out.

DAMN
by never a jw inin the last six months i have learned so much about jw's from the "apostate" books and web sites such as jwfacts and this great site.
ever since i started my research on jw's three adjectives to describe the wts leadership came to mind: deceptive, arrogant and manipulative.
i just noticed today that the first letters create the acronym dam.
