Luke 12:45 - Does that mean the F&D can go "bad"?
by thedepressedsoul inthe more i read the gospels the more i get the feeling that jesus warns about organized religion or those that overbear on your faith telling you completely how to worship god.
let's say luke chapter 12 is talking about the f&s.
does vs 45 on mean that the f&s can turn bad so to speak?

1914 C.E. ....the false positive of "1914"
by jjones inin math, a false postive is a number that looks like the correct answer but is not.. .
i have written an article that discusses jehovah's witnesses interpretation of daniels prophecy of the "appointed times of the nations".
the article demonstrates mathematically that, if a person excepts that interpretation, the number "1914" could not possible equal the date 1914 c.e.

In case you believe in God and love him , He will lead you
How ?
simply, He said (regarding his Son, Jesus Christ ) :
"This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!" Matt.17:5.

Hi John Preston, your wife is wonderfull , a real help for you.
Now , once you both are out of "org" , there is an open "door" in front of you to be real Christians
Jesus said: "Seek first God's Kingdom and His righteousness" ...you will find that these words of Jesus will have a new significance for you after leaving the org.
Follow Jesus and remain in his teaching and you will have both the Son and the Father ! 2John 1:9

( they would like to be the last one because... )
They are hoping that maybe will escape (from) God's judgement / but its not possible ! They have to fully suffer the shame for the "works" they did !

Here we go again. Dan 4 and 1914
by leaving_quietly inwtbts published a new article on jw.org (http://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/questions/daniel-4-bible-chronology-1914/) entitled "what does bible chronology indicate about the year 1914?
" in it, it points to daniel 4 as the prophecy and uses the same leaps of insane logic to get from the first and only fulfillment of that prophecy to 1914, using 607 as the starting point and 2,520 years as doubling the 1,260 years in revelation.
of course, there is no accounting for the difference in our solar years and the bible's lunar years, which makes the math have a very different outcome.

1914 - "A Turning Point In History"?
by Bobcat inthe february 2014 public wt has a cover series of articles dealing with world war i, and by inference 1914. the articles describe wwi as 'causing the world to be changed' and as "a turning point in history.".
setting the wt's defective 1914 chronology aside for a minute, how do these statements about wwi coincide with the view of the nt?.
certainly wwi was a big war.

Hi Bobcat,
I understand time is precious for everybody so I try to be short
I firstly would rebuild my thought: the "1914" wasn't a "turrning point" even for the world history . It was more precisely an "accelerating point" for the unfolding of the 20th century' (humankind's ) history events ... (Im not sure how "english" sounds my expression , but I hope you readers understand )
I repeat the fact that the 1914' thing has no relevance for the "worshiper with spirit" of God , simply because all the theories around it have nothing to do with the "teaching of Christ" ! - it it beyound the limits of Jesus teachings / see 2John 1:9.
I mean, both the expectances believed to take place that year , as also the methods and reasons used for the calculation of that year were NOT biblical, and beyound of "Christ's teaching", so they were absolutely wrong, and worse than that, theirs believing in that idea (regarding 1914) has imprimed a bad course of God's people before their God.
If you will read this (my) post , what do you understand ?

Yes, the "1914" thing was a turning point for the human history
Yet it has nothing to do with the spiritual things , or those strictly related with God's Kingdom - except with the fact that the coincidence of a wrong chronology with the break out of the WW1 has mislead God's people into interpreting in a wrong way the prophecies regarding the "latter days" and "the end time" !

Who is the faithful and discreet slave?
by wearewatchingyouman inwhen i discuss things with my father regarding whether a governing body is needed for christians one theme that is constant with him is "if it's not the gb who is the faithful and discreet slave - who else is giving food in these days to god's people?".
i've been working on a response to this for the last couple of months and am just curious as to who christians who are ex-witnesses interpret the faithful and discreet slave to be, and the parable in general.. .
i guess i'm just looking to round out my argument and have a few different angles.
