  there have been a whole bunch of probing questions in new threads lately.

  people are encouraged to spill their guts out on the most sensitive of topics including jeopardizing their identities with questions about what they like on their pizzas.

  just call me old fashioned, but some of these polls look like information-gathering the wts would love to mine.

  mrs ozzie prepared the lunch and i made the drinks!

  our visitors were baptist folk, so there was no shiraz today, out of respect for their sensibilities!

  we enjoyed our conversation about dateline/panorama/sunday and they are taking a tape of the sunday program to various church groups in the south of sydney.

  Level 42, although under the current mrs. ig's influence I'm getting into classical music. I saw the amateur orchestra she's in do Holst's The Planets last year - absolutely blew me away. Fantastic opening rythm in Mars,

  I'm so very depressed...

  lately, i've been really depressed at missing out on my life.

  from being pulled out of school in the 3rd grade to keep me away from the "worldly" kids.

  i was basically isolated.

  Get some singing lessons - even if you want to sing pop/rock stuff - they'll teach you how to use your diaphragm and voicebox properly so you don't end up knackering your voice. Lessons are also good (imho, anyway) at keeping the momentum up - helping you feel like you're making some progress week by week. And, take Robdar's advice.

  When Icicles Aren't Nicicles.

  this morning i was booked in to replace 2 fascia boards on the gable of a tall victorian-style house in wsm.

  because the building was relatively high, i decided to use my heavy-duty, extra-long ladders instead of the lighter set that i use mostly on houses such as this.

  so, early this cold and frosty morning, before it was hardly light, i walked round to the back garden and lifted them off the wall brackets on which they were mounted.

  I hear from a reliable source in the deepest depths of Cornwall (near Land's End) that they have snow there and it's settling - so it must really be unusually cold in the south-west at the moment. Good lord, an English person talking about the weather. I am a stereotype.

  Weird and unusual Kingdom Halls

  does anyone here have any experiences with any unusual kingdom halls, such as architecture, location and furnishings.

  in eaton ohio there was a small kingdom hall that sat next to the railroad tracks and everytime the train went by it shook the building.

  in salyersville ky there was a small kingdom hall in a storefront buliding, no sound system and they had a kerosene heater at the back of the hall.

  Not really weird or unusual, but Beeston cong in Notts. had old and tatty second hand cinema seats. They gave the place a seedy ambience, a sort of basement fringe art theatre feel. Perhaps the purloinment (sp?) of second hand cinema seats is not uncommon amongst KH furnishers?

  For wearing a joke water-squirting button hole flower at a party in which fancy dress was permitted. I was supposed to be Charlie Chaplin, perhaps they mistook me for Hitler, and misconstrued the flower for some kind of offensive weapon.

  Another Escapee:

  *Asking "if we leave things to Jehovah and keep our mouths shut who's he going use to sort the problem out?"

  ROTFLOL!!! I don't know why but that really tickled me, I wish I'd thought of saying that.

  Sing out the Kingdom songs!!!

  remember all the counsel to sing out the songs?

  that's great except so many of us couldn't sing our way out of a paper bag.

  i remember visiting a congregation in colo. & a sister was really following the counsel, top of her lungs.

  Ach, so, vielen Dank. Ich hoffe CoC gefaellt Ihnen, das Buch hat mir gut gefallen. Ich hoffe auch, dass Sie mein Deutsch verstehen kann! Ich lerne seit etwa 15 Monate, aber ist Deutsch sehr schwierig fuer diesen Englander.....

  i thought it might be interesting to see how much of the worldly wisdom we have aquired .there are alot of quaint sayings that go way back in time here are some of my favorites to give an example - an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure , a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush ,what's good for the goose is good for the gander .feel free to add your favs .
