I remember a husband that went to meetings for 30yrs just to keep the peace. He didnt comment, sing, etc. I asked him about one time and he said once you get married there are things you just gotta do. Like taking out the trash, dishes....

Witness 007 returns to wife and meetings..I give up! Sorry no choice!
by Witness 007 inmy wife's been having mental problems since hurting her back at work...we split for 8 weeks {her doing} then she rings me and says she "can't cope and is lonely" so i return {the drama continues} she seems more stable, sleeping all night...what a change!
her mood had become alittle more stable.
she found a part time job, and has not been dragged off by security like her last job...much improved though she dropped 10 kilos in weight.

Did Noah build a protoype of the ark?
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. inwas the ark the first boat ever built?
if so, that man noah must surely have had some faith in the critter that told him to build it.. the wise thing would surely to have built a small scale model just to be sure the thing was going to float.
but then i guess noah didn't have too many options otherwise.

NOAH's Greatgrandpa Methuselah - Did He Drown or What?
by unclebruce inaccording to my book of holy fables (gen 5:27), noah's greatgrandpa methuselah died aged 969 years, in the exact same year noah floated away to a damp new world in a box full of tame animals.
but the bible does not say that he was among those who died in the flood.. according to bible mathmatics, adam was alive when methuselah was born making methuselah the only human link between adam and noah.. so what happened to poor old methuselah?
did jehovah, out of respect, wait till the old boy carked it before having it piss down on the rest of humanity?

I think he probably did a feasibilty test and consulted with some Nephilim first. Then maybe a 1:50 scale model.
The books Enoch and Maccabees indicate that the fallen angels had a hand in building the ark. That would put Noah in more of a supervisory role, bringing donuts, getting coffee. And of course taking all the credit for a job well done.

Who's Got the Most Money??
by cameo-d ini used to think it was the catholic church...perhaps whimsically based on perception.....just because they had the most elaborate cathedrals and were the oldest of religions.
but i think they have lost quite a bit of money with legal settlements and have lost a lot of membership over the past few years.. i wonder what the various religions are doing to make money?
surely they don't depend on tithes...that's a mere pittance.. big stock portfolios?

Has to be the Catholic Church, they have a country and a bank. Becuse of the sheer size and independent status its probably impossible to find out. Vatican Bank had an audit that put bank assets at 20B, thats just for the bank. Total financial assets, (gold, bonds, stocks) are unknown since most investments are through holding companies.
US parishes take in about 7.5B a year. But it would be impossible to put a price tag on assets since they are spread out over so many institutions and non profits (schools, univeristies, hospitals). I would put net worth in the 100's of billions at least. But allot is in assets they could never sell, like the Vatican, artwork, etc.

Is DISFELLOWSHIPPING being phased out?
by african GB Member ini have an elder friend who is 'open-minded', so to say...he tells me what gets discussed at elder meetings, even though he does'nt give too much detail.. he says that they were instructed by the society not to hurry df'ing publishers, that they should try to reproof (1 timothy 3: 16,17) a sinner,,..that they should be a little considerate bearingf in mind that we are living in critical times of the end.. .
personally i know a few publishers(baptized or not) who now have children out of wedlock, and they were just "marked" or had privileges taken away..... the reason given is: "they realised that they have sinned, and they are fully repented, they gave enough evidence to jc that they want to be known as jw's".
now my question is : are they slowly doing away with the df'ing doctrine?.

I think disfellowshipping will be reduced over time, but never phased out (ie Catholic Excommunication). I've seen entire congregations become discourged or even collapse if they are hit with too many disfellowshippings in a short period of time. I suspect the eventually a distinction will be made between personal weakness vs apostasy\opposer. This wouldn’t even be a change in teaching or "new light". Just a gradual shift in judicial policy. Over time new iterations of "marking" and "reproof" would probably be defined.
Quick story -
I went to an assembly at the Stanley Theater. Since I thought I was running late I rushed up to the mezzanine and sat down. I thought it had already started because everyone was sitting down and talking in hushed voices or not at all. But then I noticed everyone one on the lower level was still standing around, mingling, chatting, etc. After about ten minutes it started to feel surreal, something was different but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Eventually a sister saw me and came over to talk. After the usual greetings I quietly asked "Why is no one talking up here?". She whispered back "Your sitting in the disfellowshipped section, that’s what I came to tell you." I sat there dumbfounded. "What do mean? Its half the assembly?" to which she nonchalantly replied "This is the disfellowshipped convention." Somewhere in my haze she grabbed my arm and I ended up sitting somewhere else.
Apparently many disfellowshippped from the area had decided to attend the same convention. Sort of an informal solidarity. After thinking about this for a while I of course (being young and fearless) brought this up a few days later to a Bethel heavy. During the course of our conversation I mentioned that we know there is a heavenly class and an earthly class. Now that the disfellowshipped class is larger than the heavenly class, is there any chance the disfellowshipped class could become larger than the earthly class? At this point I was marked as the "smart ass" class. -

The Book of Jasher mentions:
Jasher 5:21 And all the sons of men who knew the Lord, died in that year before the Lord brought evil upon them; for the Lord willed them to die, so as not to behold the evil that God would bring upon their brothers and relatives, as he had so declared to do.
Then Jasher 5:35-36 Then Noah took the three daughters of Eliakim, son of Methuselah, for wives for his sons,as the Lord had commanded Noah. And it was at that time Methuselah the son of Enoch died, nine hundred and sixty years old was he, at his death.
