You have asked me to explain a comment I made. I feel that is a very reasonable request. However, first let me explain where I am at the moment.

You have noticed that I asked a question..(see above). I have been a JW for 24yrs. I am a studier, and researcher and I constantly read and check things for myself....after all this is what the Bible itself encourages......1Cor 2:15, 1 Thess 5:21,22. Didnt even the Boreans do this? ... See More However, this seems to have got me into some kind of bother.....which I truly cannot understand. I requested a shepherding call to explain my concerns to the elders about some of our teachings. (If you want to stop reading now...you can. I know this is the point where most people think your are evil and perhaps an apostate which apparently is worse).

I was genuinely and sincerely asking questions based on what I have read in scripture compared to what our own organization has printed in its literature.

Here is an example of one of my concerns. ....(Deut 18: 20-22)

"However, the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. And in case you should say in your heart: "How shall we know the word that Jehovah has not spoken?", when the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word DOES NOT COME TRUE, that is the word that Jehovah did not speak....."

After a lot of prayers to Jehovah I finally mustered up the courage to ask the elders why the Governing Body saw fit to print many times the dates for Armageddon. The reason I know this is because I started reading through the Proclaimers book and from pages 631 onwards, they themselves list the dates they printed for when Armageddon was to be. I believe 1975 was one of the more notable ones. (WT July 15th, 1976....the society blamed the brothers for believing this) (WT March 1980, pg 17.....4yrs before they made an apology.)

They do explain why they did this, it was down to enthusiasm and being over eager......but nowhere have I seen that being enthusiastic was ever accepted by Jehovah for going against scripture.

We all know that the times allotted for the end have come and gone. I am in no way doubting that Armageddon is near, but as the GB and Faithful Slave are God's 'prophet' today... then why is it, that what this prophet class said....DIDNT COME TRUE. And yes....I did ask the question......"Does that make them a False Prophet?" Please bear in mind I am using Deut 18 as a guide. also 2Thess 2:1, Acts 1:7, Luke 21:8.

This has really caused me a lot of anguish and I am torn inside. What should I do? I am so confused. Must I follow and listen to what the Bible says first and foremost or should I listen to the Faithful and Discreet Slave? Jehovah NEVER gets anything wrong....yet there have been many WRONG dates for Armageddon that have come from the Governing Body.

My Elders never really answered my questions. This was only one that I asked. Instead.....I WAS TOLD TO KEEP QUIET or else I would need to be disciplined! I am so hurt. I never realized before that I couldnt ask questions and cannot believe that some of the people I have known for so long have started whispering about me and are labelling me as an apostate. Where is the Love from my brothers? Well here's the truth.....all I did was ask questions....and if that makes me an apostate.....then its a far cry from what the Bibles definition is.

I am not disfellowshipped. I will be disappointed yet not fully surprised if you chose to treat me in an unloving way and 'disfellowship' me from this forum. I have done nothing wrong and all comments on here by me have been genuine.

My comment on other forum, was born out of my hurt and upset. There was indeed a measure or sarcasm attatched to the comment I made because I feel angry. No one on that forum knows what I have just told you.

I still love Jehovah, Jesus and have a great respect and love for the Bible and for all my brothers and sisters....yourself included.

You called me publicly on this and I have responded publicly. If you chose to delete this post then you are calling into question...not what I say...but what Jehovah himself has said in the scriptures that I have posted to back up what I have said.

EXPOSING JW'S AT THE 7-11 THIS MORNING

i'm getting coffee at the 7-11 about 8:30 this morning , in the parking lot i see this guy i know and his wife talking to some jw's in the parking lot.

i go over and say hi joe and wife, i play stupid and ask do you go to church with these people.

they say no they are preaching jesus to us.

It looks extremely neat and tidy...and the vehicle must be very strong to carry that amount of weight and drive on sand at the same time....

At a 2 day assembly ...the point that the brother spoke about that drove me mad....."don't hug your husband, wife or child during prayer".

i attended one day of a two day assembly and did ok until the very last talk.

the brother was from bethal and well jw's pay closer attention to their talks, cause that is when some new info is given,,,right.

well anyways i lost focus and began to daydream, cause it became one of those talks that just talks about wasting time.

The fact is.....while they are spouting all this crap.....they are forgettting that, while being so wrapped up in not 'offending' visitors with any displays of affection..........they will invite these ones to the kingdom hall where they can listen to talks on oral sex and masturbation. I wonder what the visitor would find more offensive.....especially when the children need to take in this type of information.

19 When we are being represented in public prayer, we need to display reverential "fear of God." (1 Pet 2:17) There may be a proper time and place for some actions that would be inappropriate at a Christian meeting. (Eccl 3:1) For instance, suppose someone sought to have all in a group link arms or hold hands during prayer. This might offend or distract some, including visitors who do not share our beliefs. Some marriage mates might discreetly hold hands, but if they embraced each other during public prayer, those who got a glimpse of such conduct might be stumbled. They might think or get the impression that the couple was focusing on their romantic relationship instead of reverence for Jehovah. Out of deep respect for him, let us therefore "do all things for God's glory" and avoid conduct that could distract, shock or stumble anyone. - 1 Cor 10:31,32; 2 Cor 6:3.

Great post Jeff. I asgree absolutely with what you said.....and you expressed it so well. Owning your my life.....taking it back from the control of the watchtower has been one of the greatest moments in my life so far. When I was a JW my motto was..'Live your life'. I said it regularly in the company of other witnesses wanting to believe that this is what I was doing, but of course I wasnt, because I was living according to what the WT would allow. Now I am. I am living my life. I am not doing anything fantastic or exciting.......but my life is mine now and I am living it in truth to myself.
