THE 6TH CHANGE TO THE "GENERATION" TEACHING ! (Matt 24 : 34)

ARTICLE : Holy Spirit's role in the outworking of Jehovah's purpose (par. 13, 14)

"How then are we to understand Jesus words about "this generation"? He evidently meant that the lives of the annointed who were on hand when the sign began to become evident in 1914 would overlap the lives of other annointed ones who would see the start of the great tribulation."

CHARLES RUSSELL once wrote: "If we are following man, undoubtedly it would be different with us; undoubtedly one human idea would contradict another and that which was light one, two or six years ago, would be regarded as darkness now. But with God there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning and so it is with truth; any knowledge or light coming from God must be like its author - A new view of truth can never contradict a former truth. "New light" never extinguishes older "light" but adds to it. (Zion's WT Feb 1881, pg 3, 188)

In view of the above quote, please compare this 'new light' with former 'light' (now darkness), that has issued forth from Jehovah's organization.

The above 'generation' explanations, numbers 1 to 5, are now defunct ! At the time of their being taught, they were, according to the Society, the absolute truth. JWs at this time put all their faith in these teachings. But now, you have been told not to believe them any more. They are no longer 'truth', which means they must have been 'false' at their time of being taught. Truth does not change ! If something is truth, the is remains the truth, regardless of the passing of time. If Jehovah continually reveals to the Watchtower organization, then why are there ongoing changes in doctrine? Could it be that Russell was correct when he said that..."If we are following man.....then one human idea would contradict another, and that which was light.....years ago, would be regarded as darkness now?"

HEBREWS 6 : 18 GOD CANNOT LIE !

The following quote was printed in the Awake magazine of 22nd April 1970 pg 8, regarding a member of the Catholic faith.

"Tell me, he asked, "How can I have confidence in anything? How can I believe in the Bible, in God, or have faith? Just ten years ago we Catholics had the absolute truth, we put all our faith in this. Now the Pope and our priests are telling us this is not the way to believe any more - but we are to believe new things. How do I know the 'new things' will be truth in five years?"

CAN YOU BE CONFIDENT THAT 'NEW LIGHT' IS BEING BROUGHT TO YOU UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THAT JEHOVAH IS DIRECTING WHAT APPEARS IN THE WATCHTOWER? ARE YOU BEING REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH FALSE TEACHINGS? CAN YOU BE SURE THAT THE ORGANIZATION HAS FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT?

wendy cloete louwwe lost a sister in our congregation today, had severe depression and tried to take her own life.

sad thing is if the doctors stopped being petty and insisting on bloody and just gave her alternative blood volumiser sooner she might have been fine.

it took the elders hours to get her transferred to a new hospital.

Mary....exactly! I feel so sad that this woman died in obedience to the Watchtower.......but the comments I have read from this spiritual family of hers adds to the sadness of this needless death.

This stupid doctor wouldn't even consider alternatives and when the new hospital accepted her he wouldn't release her. When he eventually gave them a prescription for a non human plasma, they went out and bought it, then for 3 hrs they wouldn't give it to her (nurses) because they waited for the dr. Then luckily the one elder noticed the doctor prescribed human plasma not non-human. :-( When she got to the new hospital you apparently could see an immediate change with the correct medicine but sadly it was to late.

i do not agree with this i am just saying that a doctor who does not understand hjehovahs witnesses standpoints - may only be able to see it that way - like "dont be asking me to respect a blood issue when you didnt even respecet bllood"...

its quite possible in their eyes it amy have seemed a ridiculous request considering she was not loving her own blood jehovah gave her so they could not see it her way or from her perspective.

as a sufferer of depression myself i do see it how she does.
i get depressed and sometimes dont want to finish the rest of the time in this system and i used to have suicidal tendencies, but i would still not want to ingest blood.

however the higher point that may have caused confusion is the simple fact that taking your life is not respecting blood and so when she told them she wanted to respect blood they may have been like "WHAT?!"

please dont hate me, its just a small point that from their perspective may have made sense when you consider they were trained to use blood and save lvies - yet heres a patient who did not respect her own blood asking them to do so....just non knowledgeful could cause alot of "come on are you serious?" attitudes in the doctors.

An elusive quote from 1966 awake about 1975... can you help?

a while ago, on here i think, i came across a quote from the oct 8 1966 awake!.

we are nearing the end of the first six thousand years of mans existence.. if the date of the creation of man (4026 b.c) is also the date of the beginning.

of the seventh creative day or sabbath, it is therefore calculated that the end of the first 6,000 years of this 7,000-year-long day will take place in the year 1975. since the last thousand years of this seventh day are to be occupied entirely by the millennial reign of christ, it follows that the year 1975 will witness the battle of armageddon and the ushering in of the long awaited new world under the king jesus christ.. i have searched through pdf scans of 1966 and in fact all 1960s issues looking for this.

"Accordingly to this trustworthy Bible chronology, six thousand years from mans creation will end in 1975, and the seventh period of 1,000 years of human history will begin in the year 1975 CE."

ok...when i left the org, i was quiet for a while....as you are, trying to get used to not being a jw robot, and trying to show the rest of the congregation and former friends and family, ..(like it matters),..that you are still nice, polite, spiritual......... not engaging in criminal acts, not smoking or taking drugs and not becoming the local slut falling out of pubs and clubs at the weekend in an alcohol induced stupor.

then i changed my mind!

not that i started engaging in all of the above....but that i stopped being quiet.
