when i lived in socal, one of the things that came up was the fact that the spanish cong.

was not contributing enough for their share of the expenses.

LOL he probaby did mean Goblins. I remember one watchtower study that touched on martial arts. The brother reading it had never heard of karate and kept pronouncing it "crate". Another brother kept pronuncing mesopatamia like it was an italian entree - messa-potta-mia lol

I remember the first TMS I ever went to. One bonkers old brother was talking about the need to chew spiritual food to make is digestible. Unfortunately the word he probably wanted was mastication. I may be wrong though as he turned out to be a complete w**ker.

the following are questions raised by coffee_black that deserve a response:.

opening note: often times we here how rome cherry-picked the bible to suit their doctrine, yet many people, mostly non-catholics demand that only the bible sola scriptura be used as the canon of the faith.

there is a serious inconsistency in such a demand that both worships the bible on one hand and then condemns the church which compiled that very same book on the other hand; the very same church, and the only church which formally declared the bible is inspired 800 years after jesus christ!.

I always though that the phrase "by their fruits you will know them" was a useful expression. I can't think of any religious organisation I'd like to see on my dessert plate.

With regard to Jesus being more powerful than you can possibly imagine - I thought that was Obiwan Kenobi or perhaps I am getting confused.

the recent internet phenomenon seems to be that 1. some news story breaks, and then 2. people start talking about it and twittering and forwarding emails about it.

and then it multiplies and multiplies until finally, 3. the whole world is talking about it.

the same with the madoff scheme.

its has been almost two decades if i am correct since ray franz released the heartbreaking books: "crisis of conscience" and "in search of christian freedom".

since then, many of us have been released from bondage of the wts and set free.

by the way, where is ray franz today, what is he doing?

How interesting Ray and I have the same birthday :). I really enjoyed Crisis of Conscience though I read it after I had left. ISoCF was of less interest to me as I had already rejected Christianity as a religion but he is entitled to his beliefs as is everyone else. On the one hand I can understand the bitterness and anger of those deceived by this cult for many years, and who may have missed opportunities in life on top of believing a load of old rubbish. On the other hand, many of the major religious organisation have done far far worse in their history and today are regarded as respectable something I find most difficult to comprehend. Personally although I would by no means recommend WTS are a religion nor would I recommend any of the other flavours on offer.
